Evening all. 5 more sleeps till vacation (not sure if I will sleep on the 5th). Sadly I think I am getting a sore throat. I think I am burning the candle too much at both ends the last few days. So going to start drinking more juice and taking some zinc, echinachia and airborne.

Also, would someone with experience please clarify...do we put the Disney tags on suitcases now or after they've been through customs in Barcelona?

We are in the process of packing up and I really think we need more stuff. Has anyone had experience with taking a regular carry-on bag as a carry-on and then a small Vera Bradley type bag as the personal item (bigger than a purse...more the size of a large diaper bag).

If you're using Disney transfers, put them on before you fly, if not, wait until you're through customs to be sure that they don't get removed by a customs agent. Since we're going to BCN rather than Orlando, if you have to get your bags first even if you're using Disney transfers, I'd put the tags on after you get in.

As for carry-ons, my rule is if I can stuff my "personal item" under my seat, then it's fine no matter how big it is. We use backpacks all the time as personal items, in addition to the small suitcase.

I have never done airport to port directly. I have always stayed over 1 night at least, so do not put mine on my suitcase.

I agree as long as the 2nd item can fit under the seat you should be ok. (At least that has been my experience in the past.)

I just got my email from Delta telling me to check into my flight! How exciting!!

Hope your email was better than mine. They canceled my flight home from Orlando (doing the TA also) and rebooked me on an awful flight that got me home at 12:06 am the Monday I have to go back to work. Thankfully, I was able to call them and get on another flight that gets me in around 9:30 pm.

I'm going to get up at 4 am tomorrow even though our flight doesn't leave until 1:30 PM to try and get acclimated to the time change. I want to sleep a good portion of the flight - I just hope DD does.

Is anyone taking the train from civitecchia to Rome? and do you know where the train station is? We want to get off and get to the train asap --- then possibly do the hop on hop off bus or if interested we could share a cab. Ideas??

We are taking the train into Rome. ANd we are going to do the hop on hop off bus after the Vatican Museums. I have instructions on how to get to the train station. look at this website. http://www.europeportreviews.com/Rome2.htm it gives turn by turn instructions on how to get to the train station with photos.

Doing the train as well. Not rushing as we made 2 pm Vatican Museum reservations and only have about 5 things total we want to hit (including the Vatican Museums).

Finally found a couple more things for the FE bags so i think I am done. Have our DD's clothes laid out and I am having my sports jacket altered now. All I have to do is pick up my suit frm the dry cleaners and we are ready to pack!

Finished making door magnets today, I only printed 10 pages of graphics, do you think that's enough?

Suitcases are packed, kids only have 1/2 day of school then it's off to the airport for Scott and the kids! We're hitting London and Paris first, then on to Barcelona Tuesday night for the big day Wednesday! I'm totally ready to go!!!!!!
