Wow Mel...what's up with that? Pitiful 15 lines of fame? Who's got issues here? I don't think V intended to incite any kind of riot or any responses like yours.

Thanks LL, I was trying to figure out to say this without people feeling like I was being mean.

Actually, quite a few of us have been considering just bagging it. There were a total of 5 of us that planned this to start with, invited some others, some others invited themselves and it became a group of 50, which was great. But it tended to take on a life of it's own and became less about a group of friends reuniting once a year. No one in particular is making me not want to go, but honestly I planned to go simply to get together with some "old" friends, meet up with some "new" ones and meet a few new people. Sure, it's gotten to be a huge event and whether or not there's another board...whatever. No one needs to be defensive about it. I'm still going to go, visit with my friends, etc...but the way I see it, your first few sentences were kind of an attack on V, who's just trying to get everyone to say whether or not they think we should still meet. And if there's people on another board somewhere bashing us over here or vice versa, then maybe they should plan a meet somewhere else.

We want to go and have fun and not have any tension - spoken or unspoken.

Opinion heard. Loud and clear. And I quote, Take your bad attitude, your incendiary posts and whomever else agrees with you and go away.

But nobody, especially V of all people who's been so incredibly nice to everyone, didn't deserve those kind of comments from Buzz...sense of humor or not. That kind of crap wouldn't make anyone feel "welcome" if they were to sign on and read that for the first time. Regardless of whether or not he knew who posted it.

Ditto DM, the comments made about V a I told you when I unsubbed, were completely uncalled for and I just didn't get the same feeling there that I do here. No hard feelings.

Oh, goodness.

I was just trying to quickly check in as I'm on vacation, but I do feel that I need to chime in here.

V, and DM, thanks for helping to clear the air and bring the discussion out.

Mel, I hate getting mad at anyone, but that seems way off base and way too harsh. V is a huge part of the heart and soul of the Fockers and to accuse her of looking for fame is ridiculous. Obviously people are feeling a little worried one way or the other about having a "split" in the group, and that's all she was saying.

I've obviously been out of the loop, but I am upset that things are not right, group-wise.

I am absolutely still in for the meet, and I will be sorely disappointed if I can't meet the people I'm traveling to FL in August to meet in the first place. JO.

I hope everyone's having a decent week other than the drama around here, and I'll be back in touch when I get back home.

I'm trying not to say anything about what has been going on because I like everyone and don't want to see any friendships go bad over this.

However, I would like to make a comment on the "bashing" that went on. At the time, a few members - how shall I say this - were not treated fairly over here and wanted to voice their opinions. Once the venting was over, that thread was deleted. We do not want to bash this place or any other place for that matter.

Also, I'd like to point out that Buzz apologized for what he posted and I thought that would be the end of it. Not sure why that came up again.

I'm genuinely glad to hear any and all feelings about this - I really think confusion and misconception breeds discontent. So, though it has nothing to do with the meet, I'm happy to explain why I chose not to continue my membership on DMs board. Simply put, I'm comfortable HERE. I'm able to learn new things and help other people with their planning HERE. I have no need, and really no time, for another Disney information board. I did check it out with the thought that maybe it would be more about non-Disney chatting, but that isn't the case. No problem. Have I gone back to look? Yep. Will I continue to? I doubt it - no need really. Am I disturbed that someone cares to track whether or not I'm looking? A little. But that's just my point about the Internet - anyone can see pretty much anything. I don't do/say anything online of which I'll feel ashamed.

Sorry V. It really wasn't so much you that I was curious on someone who quit more rather abruptly and angrily. I was very curious on why they cared to lurk. I don't bother now. I'm too busy.

Clearly I am mistaken.

V, I won't bother to ask for your forgiveness. I wouldn't expect it if roles were reversed.

I simply reacted without considering for a minute that my comments were purley how I see the issue, not the whole.

I am new to this group. In the short few weeks since DM's issue I have had more than my share of PMs from older members commenting on their unhappiness at what's happening. It doesn't help when someone posts a comment that LOOKS like they are trying to CANCEL Fockerfest.

I'm more than happy to cancel my appearance. No one needs to worry that I will show up and make everyone uncomfortable. The world is more than big enough to hide me in.

LL's comment about how you guys planned it originally and I was inviting myself at this late date really cleared it up for me. What I thought was just the other site making you angry was clearly more about people "inviting themselves." I will make sure that Jo removes me from the list of events at Fockerfest.

I don't expect that will upset you all too much. I agree it IS very High School to say "should we just cancel" and then have people scared and PM'ing everyone all panicked tha its all going to heck. My response was in frustration, and obviously I was WAY off base about V. Your vouching for her good intentions shows this to me.

I hope that you beleive me when I say that I am sorry to have vented those feelings in public. The constant emotional rollercoaster of these boards has made me sort of schizophrenic.

I hope that you forgive me for my rude outburst and that you all have a great time.

Without rehashing, allow me to just publicly thank V for opening lines of communication that clearly needed to be opened, and for subsequently taking some heat.
