On Saturday we are having an 80s party for a friends birthday.
What would you wear?

Day glow colors
Leg Warmers
Must use aqua net to get your bangs up
Peg leg jeans
Jelly Bracelets

Think Madonna early years or Jennifer Beales in Flashdance.

2 pairs of colored socks with one pair sticking out of the other, jeans tucked into the socks, keds and a polo shirt with the colar popped - lol Oh and don't forget to get your hair as high as you can and glue it in place with hairspray. (Stuff stuff was my spray of choice back in the day... lol)

Parachute pants, capiccio shoes (spelling?), pencil thin leather tie..

God if my kids saw me in that :lmao:

First, big hair!! Tied with a lacy, neon scarf.
Then, slip on some acid-washed jeans that go almost to your chin (remember how high those waists were in the 80s?) Ones that zip in the back, preferably. Tuck them into slouch socks with witchy boots (or skip the tucking and wear bright neon frilly ankle socks with high heels).
A big shirt (neon colored again, or ripped at the shoulder, so it hangs off the shoulder) belted at the waist by a 4 inch wide black belt. Oh -- don't forget the black eyeliner on the insides of your eyelid!
Add lots of gaudy, chucky costume jewelry and voila!

You have been dropped into the 80s!

Blue eyeshadow and eyeliner with lots of blush.

Any shirt with shoulder pads.

You can wear leggings or spandex (if you can find them) under a long t-shirt or under jean shorts.

Want me to ask my sister if you can borrow an outfit?

Skin tight pegged jeans with no back pockets tucked into high-top sneakers or boots with the folded over top, over-size shirt with belt slung around the hips (DO NOT forget the big shoulder pads!!it is essential), BIG HAIR with a head band (Olivia Newton-John anyone?"let's get physical!") and black eyeliner.
P.S. There is no such thing as too much hairspray!

I miss the 80's :guilty:

I always like the skirts where the top was denim and then there were 3 layers or tiers of some other material below that. I had a lacy one. Anyone remember those?

Also we wore the super baggy tshirts and instead of tying a knot in the side to make the bottom tight we had those plastic things where you tucked the tshirt end in one side and pulled it through the other. Anyone remember those too?

Check out the uber-popped collar on number one!

BANANA COMBS!

Pinstriped miniskirt with socks and high heels. A nice swatch or two...:lmao:

Since fringed boots are making a comeback, do you think we'll see the fringed Bon Jovi jackets again? :scared1:

You know you used it back in the day. The purple can was the best.

Maybe...

Can you overnight the outfit please?
I will return it on Monday.

:lmao: :lmao: I had the denim dress, the Frankie T-shirt and the floral dresses like #5 in the first picture! I didn't have that jacket, but I had a black leather jacket with similar long black fringe :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

If I were going to the party, I'd wear black leggings with a poofy mini-skirt, black boots, a neon tank top underneath a ripped up T-shirt with the collar ripped out so it hung off one shoulder, a bazillion little bangle bracelets, heavy eye makeup, hair teased up and messy, held back with a skinny lace scarf tied in a big bow on the top of my head, and some black Wayfarers. :cool2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

MY friends and I did something similar, we did an 80's prom. See if you can locate a hair crimper. For some weird reason my SIL still had her's. I crimped the heck out of my hair and than made a small pony tail on top with a scrunchy. I looked ridiculous.

We thought about crimping our hair. I still have mine. Odd but I found it in a box like 10 yrs ago and it has just been following me around for years..

I can't help with the clothes but make sure you run around saying "Awesome", "Totally", and "Tubular" a lot. :thumbsup2
