Honestly, I did not know one person who wore a headband. The only time I saw headbands, were on yuppy teenagers in the movies. :lmao:

I wore the ones that held my hair back....over the top of my head.

Are you talking about the sweatband type that went around the forehead? If so, I never touched those.

okay, I was one of those girls wearing headbands so I could look like the yuppy teenagers in the movies!

No, but I knew a few people who wore a bandana "sweat band" style. You know- the burn out version of the sweatband!

Ok, I will admit to it ... but they weren't bulky sweatband type headbands. Mine were made of about 6 pieces of thin black elastic that were sectioned into two elastics per strand and braided. Beads dangled from the remaining elastic. I thought I was pretty hot wearing those!!!! :sad2: :rotfl:

I went to high school in the 80's with a lot of Preppy (not yuppie) girls like you saw in the movies so I saw a LOT of headbands. Look at old pictures of Hillary Clinton and you will see many, many headbands on her. :lmao:

I know of what you speak:rolleyes1 I had one :thumbsup2 it was white with silver beads :cloud9:

BTW, none of us were yuppies, it was just a trend along with the leg warmers that came along a year or 2 later(I think) or it could have been earlier, obviously since I knew of what you spoke, my brain is old:lmao: or lost circulation to it from the head band I wore in the 80's.

PREPPY! That was the word I was looking for, Yuppies were the Preppies parents. LOL!

I definitely had them as a kid. Both the soft cloth "ring" kind (that I wore like a normal headband and under my hair, not around my head like a sweatband) and the hard plastic cloth-covered kind. I had them in many fluroescent colors. Actually, they made growing out my bangs a lot easier! I could do without the fluroescent colors though!

I wore both wide keep your hair back headbands and the terrycloth looking braided 3 color around the front of my head bands (I had them to match every dance outfot I had... however I was between 5 and 8 when I wore them so I think you would have to blame my mom)

:rolleyes1

Not me! Ok, maybe my nickname for a year in Junior High might have been "headband" but still........it WAS the 80's! :rotfl2:

this was the look:

I don't get the Quacker factory lady.
I also don't get Isaac Mizrahi

the fat guy exercising in Oliva Newton Johns video, is what put an end to the head band era

Oh, I thought you meant like heavy metal bands:rotfl:

Ummm I wore them teaching aerobics along with my leotards/tights and matching leg warmers:rotfl2: I still wear sweat bands but the don't look like those eighties ones. Umm don't wear the leotards anymore either-aging bodies don't look cute in leotards:scared1: although I've seen some elderly overweight women give it them the old college try:scared1: :scared1: Not enough spandex in the world to keep sagging bady parts in place!!!!
