80% off code for restaurant.com

Use the code PLATE and you will get a $25 gift certificate for $2 now through July 31. I got House of Blues tonight. Will use it next week. :cool1:

Nice one, thank you! I'm off to order a few more!!!

I have never used this website before. Can someone explain it to me. It seems too good to be true. Also, what places at Disney world are included?

thanks SO much for the code! I saw this once on cokerewards.com but didnt ever get it. I got 6 $100 gift cards being mailed to me and it only cost me $48with free shipping. So i'll give them out for christmas! For those who arent sure.. it says they never expire, also the recipient goes online and enters their gift card code and then looks up restaurants in their area and when they find the one they want to eat at they would click to redeem, like $25 is most common, and then print the gift certificate for that restaurant and then go there to eat. It does say on most places must spend $35 plus $18 tip, but that is just costing them $17 to eat at a nice restaurant. I think it's a good gift! Normally it would have cost $40 per 100 gift certificate, so that would have been $240 but i got it for $48, thank you!!!!

You can also just click to buy a specific restaurant gift certificate, print it out and go use it.

hope the info helps others. i'm thrilled. got my christmas shopping done.
I figure giving a $100 gift card to a couple is a great gift, so that takes care of 5 couples.

Hi brookelizabeth! It's in the Swan - first floor. It was REALLY good and you get certificates at restaurant.com. We got a $25.00 certificate for $3.00! It was the first time we had tried it and it worked beautifully! Most of the signature restaurants at the Dolphin and Swan are featured on the website - so it's a good deal. And the other table service restaurants will give you a 20% discount if you are a AAA member. Using this and Tables in Wonderland, we saved a ton on food this trip!

Use the code PLATE and you will get a $25 gift certificate for $2 now through July 31. I got House of Blues tonight. Will use it next week. :cool1:

Forgive my ignorance and excitement at such a deal, but are you saying that you pay $3 and get a certificate that can be used for $25 worth of food at these hotels??? We stay at BCV and the breakfast choices aren't the best. I've been meaning to go try Fresh for breakfast as well as Il Mulino and this may just be the push I need to get over there!!! Thanks for the info!! Gotta love the DIS'ers!!

Just got mine for Shula's! $25 bucks off is a pretty good deal!

i got 6, $100 gift cards for $48!! We're using them as christmas gifts. You can search by zipcode to see what would be available for whom you give it to. After looking at the disneyworld options, it's still expensive b/c you need to read the fine print under the green button b/c you may have to spend $35 plus an 18% tip or have to purchase two entrees plus tip and only use one $25. It's great if you're already planning to go to these restaurants but i wouldnt make a special trip. I think i'll use mine at home, there is a nice Italian restaurant that looks good. It's still a great value, just be sure you research it.

We looked at those $100 cards at a few places, but with a minimum order of at least $200 at most of them, it just wasn't practical for us as you can only use it once (not like a gift card).

We did however got 2 $25 GC's for places near home ($35 min. purchase) and we also got the $25 House of Blues, and the $25 Kimono Sushi at Swan and Dolphin for a whopping grand total of $8 :woohoo:

There are certificates available for some of the Swan and Dolphin locations, and some of the restaurants in the Universal hotels as well.

Does anyone know: Is the minimum purchase above and beyond the gift certificate or is it total? In other words, if you have a $50 gift card and the minimum is $35 w/ the two entrees, is the minimum just $35 or do you have to spend $35 extra for a minimum of $85?

For those asking - yes, you pay a few dollars & get certs (I call them coupons) for $10, $25, $50, $100, whatever you buy. You enter your credit card info & then print the coupon. Give the coupon to your server & that amount will be deducted from your bill. Many, many people on this site & others have used this website & these coupons without any problems.

SmallWorld 71, you must be doing what I did when I first found out about this. Put the dot in the coupon price that you are interested in. The rules change according to the "dot". A $50 coupon has a minimum above $50, not below, as do the $100 & so on.

Here are some basic rules:
1. Can only use 1 coupon per month at the same restaurant (I don't know if that is 30 days or calendar months).

2. Under the coupon amounts (to the right of the restaurant info), are the rules - some rules are - must buy 2 entrees, or must spend x dollars, or dinner only, or x% tip added to total bill amount before the coupon, etc. These rules change according to which "little circle" you put the dot in (next to the coupon $ amount). So read these carefully.

3. The tip & taxes are not included. Some restaurants will not allow you to include drinks - food only. You can call them before you buy if you want, but then once there, it may depend on the server.

4. The coupons do not expire, according to the website terms & according to the print outs.

5. So far, I have not known anyone who has experienced menu blackouts - meaning, so far, all menu items can be purchased with the coupon, that I am aware of.

6. There is usually a % off code available. It is great when an 80% comes out & great for us to share the info with each other. The codes can be found at retailmenot.com & then enter restaurant.com in the search field. Once you have a code, go to restaurant.com to buy your coupon. Find your restaurants by entering the desired zip code. You can also sign up on retailmenot.com to be notified when new codes come out - that is how I found out about the 80% code that I used to start this thread.

7. Figuring the savings differs by people - some deduct the cost of the coupon, the taxes, the tip, & the amount above the coupon price to determine their savings. I only deduct the cost of the coupon - I would always tip (unless service is bad, of course; in that case, the tip is a loss); must pay taxes with or without coupon; the $ amount above the coupon was for food I put in my stomach so why deduct it from my coupon savings?!

Enjoy your savings, Julie

FYI.... I have used restaurant.com GCs locally and most of mine DO have an expiration date (1 year). Like anything else, just read all the terms to be sure! I'll probably pick a few of these up for our next trip!

there are not even $100 restaurant options in my area, so then i cant even use it? I figured i'd enter the gift card code and it would use up the balance as i selected which restaurant and amount. I didnt see anything about not being able to do this when i read the terms and condition gift card section or when i read about buying it for a gift. Can anyone verify that this is true?

i found this

What is the value of a Restaurant.com Gift Certificate?
The Restaurant.com Gift Certificate is redeemable for available Restaurant Gift Certificates with equivalent or lesser face value. For example, a $50 Restaurant.com Gift Certificate is redeemable for either one $50 Restaurant Gift Certificate or two $25 Restaurant Gift Certificates.

So hopefully a $100 is redeemable for either one $100, two $50 or four $25, following their logic above. HOPEFULLY!!!

upon further reading i found this:

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Restaurant.com Gift Card be redeemed for Restaurant Gift Certificates less than the value of the card?
Yes. A Restaurant.com Gift Card can be redeemed for Restaurant Gift Certificates of any value up to the total value of the card. For example, a $50 card can be redeemed for two $25 Restaurant Gift Certificates.

I Feel SOOO much better after finding this! So my $100 gift card can be used in combinations adding up to the total amount. Geez, i was worried!:scared1: I got the 100 b/c it was the best deal for $8.

A gift card is different from a specific restaurant gift certificate. There's no credit back or remaining on a gift cert (which I call a coupon) - used once only. I've not looked into gift cards, so can't give any info on those.

I found this in the restaurant.com terms:
Restaurant.com Gift Certificates and Restaurant.com Gift Cards have no expiration date

FYI.... I have used restaurant.com GCs locally and most of mine DO have an expiration date (1 year). Like anything else, just read all the terms to be sure! I'll probably pick a few of these up for our next trip!

I think it depends on the state and the laws there. In WI, these also expire in one year. I use them all the time at favorite restaurants here. The restaurants also change though. Sometimes my favorites are participating and sometimes they aren't. You just have to keep checking.

Also, new certificates are deposited on the first of the month. That is the best day to be searching. I sometimes buy the general certificates at the discounted rate of $2 for $25 and then save those to use on the first of the month to pick the restaurants I really want.
