8 nights at the Poly!!

Allearsnet.com might have the current food schedule; drinks are available (thankfully...) at night and its a nice selection...wines, Grand Mariner, Bailey's, Kaluha & Crown I think.

Very nice desserts come with this and there are usually 6 platters with 8-10 different items.

Thanks, I just checked the 3 Deluxes out. It would appear, from what was posted, that the lite, just doesn't do it for people for the $ you save.

You will absolutely love it, in fact you might become a member of a very exclusive, un-official group, those who won't stay anywhere but the Poly. I know I can't. One thing I think some people miss out on at the Poly. is the lobby, in the a.m. I'll get a cup of coffee at the Kona coffee bar and just sit in one of the wicker fan chairs on the 2nd flr. and just stare out the big windows at Cinderellas castle. Have a ball.

We just got back last Saturday after 9 nights at the Poly. Let me stay this was like my 18 trip to Disney, almost all have been on site. The Last couple previous has been in moderates. That being said, We have NEVER been so sad to leave a resort behind as we were when we left the Poly. It even has me rethinking about buying to the DVC because it is the Poly that we love. We are from Northern New England, when we got to Florida we want tropical, We loved Caribean beach resort, Loved Dixie landings (me more then my wife) but nothing compared to the Poly. Walking around at night outside with the Tiki tourches and music playing. Smelling the wood fire from Ohana's Watching Wishes and the EWP ever night with ease if we wanted, Taking the Monorail or resort launch to MK (launch was faster, Mono was warmer we were there for the cold spell in Jan.) Great to be able to walk to the TTC and grab the mono directly to EPCOT. The CM's were great and friendly, always with a aloha and a smile. My 6 yr old loved it as did we, we originally had ressie's for Port Orleans French Quarter, then changes them to Wilderness Lodge then to the Poly. Cost wise 3 times as much per night with AP discount as the French quater, wirth the extra? For us every penny!!!

Get the mugs they are worth it, Capt. Cooks snake bar limited selection but the food is decent, yummy hot choclate according to wife and daughter.

Try to go to Ohana's while there great meal and your kids will love the coconut races. Different then what I expected, guess I was invisioning to ahlp a coconuts being banged together as the kids ran around the room (Yes Monty Python is my other love)

Go have a great time enjoy the magic Disney has created in this resort.

Welcome to the club Goofydad, there's no going back. In my opinion, nothing compares to the Poly., again that's my opinion. One night on our last trip (10/04), we got off the monorail at the TTC, just so we could walk through the village back to our building, which was at the opposite end, near the luau cove, just a beautiful walk. Just as you said, the tiki torches, the quiet. and like you I am from the northeast (NJ) and it's a total departure from my home. I guess that's one reason I can't stay anywhere else. If you find yourself daydreaming about it, I just found a website called tikiman2001 go to http://tikiman2001.homestead.com it'll help fill the void until your next trip.

In Jan 2003, my DH and I stayed at the Boardwalk, AK, and then the GF. All of these were very nice.

However, in August of that year, we took our 3 teenage sons with us, and chose the Poly. We had a Garden Concierge room, and we LOVED it!

The Pros: Access to the Transportation System - unbeatable!!!
The beautiful grounds of the hotel - you'll swear you're in Hawaii!
The services offered - restaurants, snacks, pool, arcade, etc.
Larger-than-average size rooms - great for large families!
Being close to MK and having the monorail right next door

Cons: NONE!

I asked my boys what they felt about it, and they all agreed, it was the best.

In April, we are taking our 5-year old DD to WDW for the first time; we are doing the Princess tour - character meals, tea parties, etc. And we are going to stay at - you guessed it - the Poly!

We absolutely loved the Poly and my husband would love to go back there again. It's been our favorite of the on-site resorts so far, though we rented a Boardwalk Villa in Feburary of 2004 and I really loved that place too!
