8/17/2008 Double Dip 4-day Wonder

What we do for door signs is a bit different than most I think. Last time, I let the kids basically make their scrapbook page, with stickers, names, etc. Then we can put them in our Cruise scrapbook when we get home. We are working on ours this weekend.

We bought one of those magnetic sheets with paper covering from Michaels (craft store). Of course, we also had to get some stickers (both Disney and tropical) to decorate it. DD and I will finish up decorating it this weekend.

Tomorrow is her 1st ice skating contest -- wish us luck!:worried:

Welcome aboard kewlteacher and minnie 143!!!! The more the merrier.

There seem to be many teachers on the Dis boards. We mus be joiners at heart.

Willem.......Love, love, love the sign! Well done. Since I picked up new ink, I will print them this week. Even my DH asked if the new signs were made? I was surprised he was into it. HA! At one point, I thought of just using some of the old signs. Who would know? I do like seeing them in the hallway. it reminds me of driving around at Christmas time to see the Christmas lights.

diznuts.....it was Wegman's for lunch today. Yummy, yummy. When we first started going there, it took about six months until I was able to go through the whole store. I'd get about halfway through it and my brain just couldn't process anymore. I'd have to leave. Love the selection. Love the prices too.

disneymama....hope the skating competition went well. How long has she been skating?

Our ice rink is closed for the summer and my DD wants her birthday party there. She has a July birthdate. It would be really nice in the middle of summer to go to a place that is cool. Now we'll wait until Oct. to have her party. Until then I will be taking her and two friends to the Jonas Brothers concert this week. I must be crazy. Should be interesing. Anyway, I am looking forward to the rink reopening since I have two more Disney books I want to read and that seemed to be the perfect place this past spring.

cyndisun........we'll trade our book for your math. We love math. It is my favorite thing to teach.

Dizzyworld:
Message from DS: "Will gladly trade book for math." His strengths are definitely in his verbal skills. This math packet has been like pulling teeth.

On another note, today was the final game for All-Star baseball. We are officially free! Unfortunately the team lost today but we played in Pacifica, CA which is right on the ocean. DS and his friends had a blast playing in the waves.

We'll use tomorrow for last minute trip prep!

So, I'm starting to get a bit spazzy. :)

We go to WDW all of the time and I do absolutely no planning with the exception of an ADR or two. I don't worry about flights, resorts, whether it will rain, crowds, Brazilians or anything else. One of the benefits of being a frequent guest is that I don't worry about my trips being ruined because I know they won't be and I know if I don't get to something there will be a next time.

This is our first cruise and I can't sleep because I'm starting to run all of the "what ifs" through my head. HELP ME!!!!!!!

Wow! Only 6 days now before we leave to WDW. Unbelievable how fast time goes. Hope it won't go that fast once we're there.
A stupid question: can you buy disposable underwater cameras at Castaway Cay? Can't find them here...

Yep, they are a bit pricey, and perhaps if you get a chance to hit a Walmart prior to traveling to the ship, you can save a few dollars, but yeah, they have them there. (I bought one at CC last year) Looks like you will be the first of our gang to travel....

We bought our disposable water cameras on Cay two years ago and I suppose they still have them...cost a fortune though. I stopped by Walmart this week and picked up two, but with TWO days at CC, I'm sure I'll need two more!

Yep...looks like three tropical waves they are keeping an eye on. :scared1:

See, but I think of it this way, if we divert to a different port to steer around the storm, that will be something that most other Wonder cruisers don't get to do...:lmao:

We rented last time, but I just bought both of my girls snorkling sets. Can we rent just vest?

I really wish we could switch. It would be so nice to do math instead. Oh well........

Ok, gonna have another look for cameras today.
What about those storms? Hope we won't get one this time. When we were at WDW in 2004, there was a hurricane. We had to leave the park at noon and stay in our hotel room. It took three days before all parks were open again.

We leave for Florida in 7 days!!!!!!:scared1:

EEEKK!!!!!

I have not packed anything. That's it - tonight I am going home and starting! I swore I was going to do it this weekend, but we ended up with no airconditioning, so I spent most of the weekend at my best friends.:rolleyes1

Anyone else slacking?

 It just wouldn't be a vacation if I wasn't packing the night before. :lmao:

Disnutz:
1) The plane doesn't leave until 7am this Saturday... I should finish packing about 12:01am Saturday. :)

2) My goal tonight is to start doing the laundry (again-- doesn't it ever end). Of course, those clothes will immediately be worn so they'll still be dirty when I'm trying to pack. .:laundy:

3) My FIL arrived over the weekend, so I guess that counts as starting to get ready, right????

Dizzyworld - the skating competition went really well, thanks for asking. DD took a 2nd in compulsories and a 3rd in solo. Considering she came off the ice both times with HUGE smiles on her face, we couldn't have asked for more. And you're right, sitting in a nice cool ice rink during the steamy summer isn't such a bad thing.
