Ok, considering that I am trying to tread water in this group of DIS Board legends, I need a little advice for a newbie--
How do you all keep track of where the discussion was when you left?
I think I read somewhere about someone maybe bookmarking the page and coming back to it. When I come back I usually just drop back five pages and start reading from there, but at the pace this thread is moving I don't think I have ever gone back over posts I have already seen!!!
This thread has surpassed 1400 posts and reservations are not even open yet. We should start a pool on just how many posts hit this thread on January 31st!!! If just everyone who has posted here once drops in to comment on what happened with reservations it could be a pretty big number--and there are many whom I am guessing could have over 10 posts to this thread just on the 31st.
I will have to think about my number a little bit and as we get closer maybe bring this up again. Just think, if everyone who joined in the pool agreed to buy a drink for the winner, given the number of DIS board members looking to get on this repo, the winner could walk around the entire 15 days with a drink in their hand and still have a relatively modest tab on the way out!! (Guess I am dream about lounging pool-side or on CC with drink in hand--cold and snow covered here today.)
And, hopefully to not get myself in trouble with the DIS board moderators, any drink would not necessarily have to contain alcohol and would not for any participant below the age of 21. No purchase is necessary to participate. Agreeing to participate does not obligate the participant to buy a drink for the winner; it is only a suggestion. The game is intended for the amusement of participants only and should not be considered the endorsement of gambling or games of chance. And, any of that other small print that you see attached to the these types of things is herein and hereby incorporated by reference as if fully stated in its entirety.
(I may not make a great pirate, but could act as the pirate equivalent of consigliere--never know if Captain Jack or the crew will need to get out of the brig!!)
