Hazel just sent her "first official post" she is on the desktop in the livingroom and I am on my laptop in the livingroom. Hazel already signed off as she had 8 e-mail messages she wanted to check, then she wants to get changed in her jammies!!!

Wow, before you know it, you and Hazel will be talking to each other on the DIS just like Mark & Laura.

Okay....I'd rather try for the rotation that I want than the time...but it IS nice to go a little earlier than 8:30.

I agree, on both counts! 8pm seating was already pushing it for pretty much anything after dinner (including pirates party) and I think anything later than that is going to be hard.. but would prefer the rotation we like (you know- formal nights in the rest. everyone expects to dress more formal anyway- Lumieres!) than the time. I guess

Sad reality hit today

Visiting with my family today to celebrate my nephew's girlfriend's birthday. We started talking about our next family reunion. Our reunions are a big deal with over 120 people in attendance (I know that probably freaks out Enna and the others in the WPP). It's my dad's side of the family and my grandma had 8 kids, hence the big reunions. The next one falls to my dad's clan to plan, we rotate around each time.

We have them ever other year over the Labor Day weekend....can you see where this is going? Well, the last reunion was 2006, so guess when the next one is?

I totally forgot about the reunion when planning this TOAL. In addition to myself and my son, my parents are booked too! So now, either I miss the reunion or I cancel the cruise. It just makes me sick. I don't want to do either.

My family is great. I have the ABNORMAL family in which parents are still married, sibblings don't hate each other, no thieves, drug dealers, murderers etc. Even within the extended family, every gets along. In the 20+ years of having these reunions we've never had any fights or cops called (except for being to loud at night).

But my new family here is great too. And the one cruise I've always wanted to take has been TPC. I suppose I could switch to the May Repo, but then I wouldn't cruise with all of you.

I've got plenty of time to make a decsion so I'm not going to do anything right now. I realy don't want to cancel the TOAL. I have a feeling my parents will probably cancel though.

UGH!!!! I can't even think about it anymore right now.

I hope you decide to go with us on the TOAL... but I can understand what a tough decision that is.

There are some very nice benches in the area. And you can still see the Enna-lets when they say "look at me!"

Mine will be starting Freshman year and Senior year. And that's exactly what I said. Maybe when they're MY age, they can go!

I would feel the same way (our oldest starting freshman year at that time) BUT FOR 2 main reasons:
1) we have no one to watch her and no way I'm letting her stay at barely 14 at home by herself for half a month and
2) we probably won't be cruising Disney again for a long time and definitely the last time she'd go as a minor... and I just can't imagine cruising Disney without the kids, especially when we don't know if we'll go again before they are all much older... and I'm certainly not going to take the younger two and make the oldest miss out.
I was going to just not register her, but I haven't even found out when school starts. And I don't want her to miss out on things like band/athletics. So I may have to register her and then deal with the absences however they let me-be it excused or not excused. I'm HOPING that the rumors are true and school will start later for us by that year...

Every once in while in my OCPD I start working on something that I come up with multiple scenarios for. Here is one of them - dining rotations - would DCL take the ones that are used on the 7 day and just add 8 more days to them (ex. LAPLAPLAPLAPLAP) or would they do some kind of a repeat (ex LLAAPPLLAAPPLLAAPP), or maybe do a mirror image of the rotation (ex. LAPLAPLPALPAL).

Oh great. Give me something else to think about...

Thanks again for the Happy Birthday wishes for DH. He isn't taking this 40 thing very well and he's never really cared about birthdays previous to this one! He did have a good day though- he worked 12hrs today double time and he said nothing broke down the entire day so he just sat around in the maintenance break room and took naps and watched THREE movies all day.
now THAT is a birthday present- getting paid double the normal amount for a longer shift that unusual and doing nothing more than he would be doing at home in his recliner!

His birthday presents were a membership to a hunting club, some new hunting & fishing knives, a diving watch he's been wanting, a new Disney sweatshirt that is personalized DAD on it (and it's a picture of Mickey- bandanna on his head and all- riding a Harley), a new battery for his Harley so he can start riding it again- it's been a few months... , gas for his favorite grill so he can stop cooking on the one he doesn't like (that doesn't use gas LOL), a couple of birthday cards from various family members and homemade ones from the kids. DS even tried to give him a $1 out of his piggy bank as his gift. Sometimes these kids can do such sweet things... every once in awhile, just often enough to keep you from getting tired of their antics.
All in all a great day for him and he wanted me to thank you all for the posts you made to him... I showed him every one!

But that also means wedding season and it's looking like I am going to be busy this year! 8 weddings booked already, with two of the Saturdays spent on back to back weddings, then another 2 maybes to squeeze in at some point. Upside is more $$$ for the TOAL but also about 8 weekends of my summer spent being busy, busy, busy.

Well, time for me to grab some shut eye. Off the steady paying job tomorrow.
