Mary I have the following to say about your husband: God Bless Him! Driving a bus in the city of any of the five boroughs is one darn hard job!!!!

Mary,

It really is very stressful. He doesn't particularly care for it but he does get very good benefits and alot of time off. His hours are really flexible and usually rotate around the children's schedule. He is usually off the entire summer which is great in taking care of little ones. I gotta say though, at the end of the day, he is a bit grumpy.

What an afternoon! The kids came home & of course there was drama. DD sat on the curb on the main road to eat her snack. I got her to go play with friends for a little bit and when we were leaving to come home the new people across the street pulled up. She ran over to meet their little girl...she has been the only girl on the street her age...one 2 years younger & one baby. It turned out to be someone who I know thru PTO. We sat around talking while the girls played out front. DD is so happy that she is there & we also found out that another girl her age moved in at the other end of the street this afternoon. We know that family from soccer. I also found out that the 14 yo boy who hangs out with the other kids 6-8 is moving soon. :yay: :yay: :yay: He is not the best to influence them & DS is not allowed to play outside when he is out there. I like how the neighborhood is changing. :)

Good for you:thumbsup2

Hey all - just noticed on the travel channel next saturday 6-7pm I think) is a Top 10 Beaches special - Mexican Riveria Beaches, Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta beaches will be featured. Enjoy!

I'll hve to remember to watch that. Thanks:)

That is how it feels sometimes! My DH would swear that his work day feels like 1200 hours...lol He is a NYC bus driver. :)

Mary

My great-aunt is a NYC bus rider. ;)

Lived in the same apartment building her entire life.

How come a day at work is 598 hours............But a day on the Magic is 2.4 hours...........never have been able to figure that out

Mark

How RIGHT you are Mark!

I was hoping I wouldn't have to get them every year, but my primary care doc and my ortho seem to think I will. :sad1:
I did just read that they've finally made a knee replacement just for women...sized smaller than what they've been using, so that might work well some day. Just want to hold off on "some day" for as long as I can!

Funny, I was in the ortho office last week and I think that was in the readers digest I was reading. His dr is putting it off as long as he can. I wish he would just do it already.

I'm not a Romber fan at all because I felt that they used their noteriety too much in that race. Last night, they made their choice for air arrangements and had to live with the consequences they same way any other team would. Obviously, it didn't hurt them any in the end.

Of course this is all in fun, it is a tv show, but I just want to point out that they were not the first or the last to have people help them (Johnathan and Victoria are a prime example). It has been done time and time again. It just so happened that a few people recognized them on the way.;)

:sad1: I've lost my position!:sad1:

This morning I get on my usual 6 train 1 stop at Grand Central. The train is pretty empty. At Grand Center they open on one side but at the next stop they open on the opposite side. I am easily able to stand in front of the doors that are going to open at the next stop- 51 street.

Ok, so I step on the train, walk toward the doors that are going to open at 51street and turn around to face the train - as opposed to looking out the doors. AS I am turning around this man just steps right up on me. I mean he was really freaking close to me. No need for it as the train is pretty empty. Next, I catch a whiff of him..yuck. He was so close that when I went into my bag- hanging across my body in front of me - I touched his coat.

I look up at him and ask him to back off. He moves a little. I move a bit away from him and turn sideways as I don't want to face him and I don't want to give him my back. I gotta tell you I almost decked him. I was pissed. I put my elbow out and elbowed him. It was all over in about 2 minutes. Jerk!

Mary

Sorry Mary:eek:

Stacey it's a good thing your DH was there. I suspect if he wasn't you would've made minced meat out of the woman :thumbsup2 The nerve of some people. It reminds me too of being pregnant and people touching my belly without asking. Now, that's not to say I wouldn't have let them, but come on, don't manhandle the Prego...Hello!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Gotta go folks! Time to get some stuff done around here. Maybe I'll be back later when the kids (and DH) are sleeping;)
