8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 7

Hi... I just got caught up in reading the posts and I probably shouldn't post right now, because to be honest, I'm a little upset and bewildered. Yes I did read on the other board that they were having a picnic. Yes I did sign up on the other board and only have one post, as they have a rule about lurkers. I really feel like you are a bunch of fun people, and I was trying to do my bit to fit in by offering to look into this for a gathering. I'm sorry if you thought I was trying to push everyone onto meeting the other board. That wasn't my intent. It seems alot of you know each other from previous cruises, and this was my attempt to belonging. After reading all the responses to my offer to investigate, I don't really feel like one of the wenches on this cruise.

I feel bad and a little guilty typing this right now, but I do want to be apart of this group, and enjoy a fantastic cruise with all of you. Please let me know if you want me to look into this further as an event for the DIS Board pirates on the Saturday or Friday before the cruise on an evening other than the other board.

Well, I just finished printing off 16 iron-on transfers, I have 8 t-shirts and 6 pillowcases to make this morning for a fellow DIS'er. Will check back later!!!

I have the house to myself this morning as Angelina had the school musical practice, and Hazel has a talent show that she has to set up for at the church, so it's time to get my project done while I don't have anyone getting in my way.........

We're invited to the neighbors for some board games so I'll be missing another lovely night of chat. Before I go...I thought I'd leave you with a little pirate joke:

A pirate & a sailor were at a bar in Tortuga. The sailor looked over & noticed the pirate had a peg leg, a hook & an eye patch. The sailor asked the pirate, "How'd you get that peg leg?" The pirate replied, "An alligator bit it off." Then the sailor asked, "How'd you get that hook on your arm?" The pirate answered, "I was fighting in a gruesome sword battle & I got me arm cut off." The sailor then asked, "Well how'd you get that eye patch?" The pirate mumbled, "A seagull pooped in it." The sailor asked in amazement, "How could seagull poop do that?" Finally the pirate grumbled, "It was the first day with me hook!"

Glad you had a great time. Do you realize how many people will be making various trip to the World, the Land, and the Sea before this cruise finally gets here?? And I will be jeaalous of everyone.

Caroline, we will I guess be one of the lucky ones. Will be doing DL within a month or so (at least 10-12 times by 8/08), WDW and Wonder in 120 days including our first visit to CC. We will be thinking of the rest of you.

California Anti-Spanking Bill Dropped

SACRAMENTO — A Democratic lawmaker on Thursday abandoned her heavily ridiculed campaign to make spanking a crime, acknowledging that the bill which had become fodder for late-night comedians would get whacked even in California’s sometimes whimsical Legislature.

Instead, San Francisco Bay-Area Assemblywoman Sally Lieber introduced a more narrow bill she said would help district attorneys more easily prosecute parents who cross the line from punishment into physical abuse.


Lieber’s new bill, however, still might not hit the mark with her colleagues.


She is seeking to classify a laundry list of physical acts against young children, including hitting with a belt, switch or stick, as unjustifiable and grounds for prosecution, probation, or a parental time-out — a class on nonviolent parenting.


Whether her bill passes or not, spanking a child on the buttocks — even to the point of injury — will remain legal in California, Lieber said.


“Clearly, I take exception with that part of the law, but the votes are simply not there” to change it, Lieber said, facing a bank of eight television cameras and the largest media spotlight the soft-spoken Democrat has ever encountered.


Until last month, the liberal Mountain View lawmaker was perhaps best known for authoring the state’s minimum-wage increase.


Then Lieber, who has no children, attracted overnight, nationwide criticism after she pledged to introduce an anti-spanking bill to protect children and curb violence. Her idea was even the subject of a “Saturday Night Live” parody.


Conservative and family-values groups lashed out at her proposal, charging that criminalizing spanking epitomized overbearing “nanny” government.

SWMBO really wants to do DL, if we can afford. One of our issues with booking this cruise was 2008 was to be our year to go back to WDW. We didn't go last year because we had the 10-day HC booked and we purposely were skipping this year (and now with the 'vacation of a lifetime', couldn't afford it) to go out West, so it'll been three years w/o a Disney park fix and we are used to going every year.

So, if we can afford, we will be at DL for a couple of days before the cruise.

Maybe you can sqeeze in at least one day after the cruise?

But there is so much you will get to have again .. Like Kraft Dinner (I don't believe they have that in the States) and Caramilk Chocolate Bars, Aero Bars, and Poutine of course. Most Chapters have a Starbucks in the store, so you caN buy a book and sip your coffee and enjoy! I got hooked on Starbucks at Chapters.

My spouse and I have always enjoied this deal...

unfortunately we have not been able to see all of them yet...

I love Cirque . . . it's true that it tends to inspire strong feelings(love or hate) rather than indifference, though. Cirque du Soleil is starting a new show that will play during the holiday season at Madison Square Garden this year -- I think they have a 4 year contract to keep doing it. It will have a loose theme around the holiday season/winter in New York. Of course, we already have our tickets for this year!

Kiki is mostly white. She has dark gray/brown patches on her ears,one on each side of her body and one large round one on her "bumpa" where her tail should be. She's so funny,when she's walking away, it sways from side to side.

l She sounds adorable. I just realized I called you a "sweat" heart Sorry! In my defense, I had 4 kids running around me.

I have a week in Barcelona first so that should be good, lots of Sangria, they vary a lot some strong some nearly fruit juice.
