It went like this.
I am the only parent on this holiday.
We went to Epcot during the day and the heavens opened up and it rained and rained.
We were soaked through, the ground at Epcot near mission space was under 3/4 inch'es of water.
I decided we couldnt stay we drove back to the Contemporary.
My clothes were so wet i was worried about, D/L and important stuff in my wallet so put it on the dashboard to dry, out of my pocket.
Kids wanted to go to restrooms.
On the way up the lifts to my room, I remembers my key is in the car on ddash board. Kids want the restrooms.
Ask DD to take DS into the ladies whilst I went back to car.
I didnt know this a girl in ladies says 'why is a boy in here'.
He runs out.
DD follows trying to find him.
He takes lift to our room.
She goes to shop.
I go to Restroom, ask ladies, then to my room, find son, go to reception to say DD missing, they say she is in the shop, they just had been called, and had called my room!
I know the feeling although ours was not at night. DS13 and I were going to ride Mission Space with FP and then DD10 (who was I think 7 or 8 at the time) was going to ride it with my wife who was watching our daughter.
DS13 and I went to the restrooms. Apparently DS10 decided he needed to go and came up as well. My wife assumed he was with me and went into the M:S play area. I never knew he came up to the restroom.
When I got off the ride, my wife asked if I had Thomas. I told her "how could I, only have 2 fastpasses?" So we panicked. My wife went off to the child care center and I took off to Guest Services. There was my son, just standing at GS. He actually did what we told him to do and went and found a CM when he couldn't find my wife and the CM took him to GS.
Ours was very much like this one. We were in the Mexico Ride at Epcot. We all came out which would be Mark, Myself, Mark's parents, my mom, DS and DD. Well it was during the parade of nations and it was dark out because it was in February. She was about 8 at the time.
Anyway, you know how they have those ropes up that keep the people watching the parade separated from those who are walking?
Well, we got pushed into one of those lanes and the CM's keep telling us to keep walking, not to stop. Well we were all in a one x one line and DD thought she was following Mark. She wasn't.
We realized she was missing and no one remembers who was suppose to be watching her. It was my mom who she was with last.
So we went back to the Mexico ride to see if she was there. They of course said no and we contacted a CM who radioed to everyone else that she was missing. Desciption etc.
Our parents and DS were in a panic so we sent them back to the entrance and we start running like wild people thought the area around Mexico, calling for her. By then we are thinking bad thoughts about what could have happened.
Finally, a CM heard on the radio that a girl was found and was at the first aid area over between the Nations and the Test Track area. We can't pass that area now without thinking about it.
So we of course ran over and there she was. Scared but fine. She still has the Disney pin they gave her when she was there. She had enough smarts to find a CM to tell she was lost and they got her where she needed to be to be found. There was a time lag between all the calls on the radios so that was why it took so long to let us know she was okay.
Also, while we were running around yelling for her Mark found another little girl that was lost and looking for her parents but she didn't speak any English. He was able to get a CM to help her too.
Have to give Disney credit for the way they handled that situation. He will never admit it now but DS was pretty scared she wasn't going to be found.
