Last night, I learned from a friend some very disturbing news......

Were you all aware that Cookie Monster from Sesame Street has undergone an identity change? He is now being referred to as Veggie Monster! Now, I am all for teaching kids healthy eating habits, but come on!

C is for COOKIE....that's good enough for me!

:sad2:

That's just wrong on so many levels.

Cookie Monster's behavior was acutally a good starting point for talking to little kids about impulse control. Even 2 year olds seemed to know that gobbling ALL of the cookies was silly (and therefore not good behavior).
Ugh.
I'm glad I saw the newest page that this is just a rumor. But somehow seeing C monster eating ANYTHING other than chocolate chip cookies doesn't set right with me. I'm glad my kids are all past the age of watching him anyway. ;)

This sounds like a great idea!!! pirate:
I agree!

I guess that we are not normal then. We were upgraded from an 11 to an 8 on our first cruise then an 8 to a 4 on our 3rd. :thumbsup2

you are not normal, you are special!

(wait, did that sound like brown nosing? hmmm)

Gotta go .. DD is bugging me for some Computer Time! Congrats in advance to whoever gets the 25000th post .. Go wenches !!!

I hadn't realized we were getting close! Have a great afternoon!

In my tenure (on the CB) I have learned some secrets of the TAG FAIRY. I have personally been invloved with many polls to determinr the preferences of said deity. I will share a few of the results. The TAG FAIRY is not one entity, there are several of them. Indeed, one would need extreme amounts of Pixie Dust just to monitor this thread alone.... Also, the TAG FAIRY can be bribed. We searched for the favorite chocolate, thinking Mars Bars as our initial guess, and in the poll, the TAG FAIRY closed it and gave several thousand votes to "Godiva chocolates wrapped in large denomination bills (Sponsor: A more practical Tag Fairy)"

The TAG FAIRY couldn't decide on a color, so Pink and Green were assigned.

Clapping Is a great way to attract the TAG FAIRY, but begging upsets them. Especially the male ones.

Favorite Song was determined to be "Everybody Has a Laughing Place", but there was no input from the TAG FAIRY at that time.

Once again, Begging is a big NO-NO.

They do have a form religion. I have found that they all pay homage to the great God Pete. While Pete generally does not communicate directly, he has been known to pass threats through his High Priest "Alex". There was a time when Alex banished the TAG FAIRY for several months because of all of the begging going on. He is NOT to be trifled with.

I have also found that the Moderators seem to have some pull when it comes to enticing the TAG FAIRY out.

I hope this helps y'all!!!

Thank you for posting this!

I totally understand begging for yourself would not be cool - but is it OK to beg for the sake of sharing your joy with others..or does that anger the great TAG Fairy as well???:confused3

Why shoud it anger the TF? I would think such a selfless act would only impress???:rolleyes1

 Congrats Enna on your tag!!!
By the way, I was wondering if you've 'forgotten' to answer the few posts that are wondering if your ID is a little sdrawkcab?:rolleyes1

OMG, if that is true, OMG, How Sad!!!!!! I just was singing that song with my 2YO son (It was on Kidstuff Sirius Radio) last night. Tell me it is an urban Legend.... Mythbusters where are you!!!!!!!

I just looked it up on snopes.com & there is nothing listed there about it. :(

I couldn't find anything on google either but I did get a hit on msnbc.com from April 2005.

The link to the cookie monster story isn't working though.

Sil,

Thanks for the well wishes! I appreciate them all :).

We'll also be on the 26th! I'll have to pop on over to that thread. I'd love to get in on the Dismeet. There will be 15 of us coming on the 26th. It should be great and chaotic..lol

I grew up in Corona but am now living in College Point. Hope this post doesn't get lost - this thread is impossible to keep up with..lol

Mary

Looks like there will be a very cool DIS minimeet on the 8/26/07 Wonder! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the Universal Info .. I hope they offer it next August ..!! I've heard the Universal Hollywood is better than Orlando ... Will have to check it out myself!!

If you have been to Universal in Orlando, you will find some things very familiar, some similar but slightly different, and some things completely different -- the best part of the latter is the studio tour, which is a real tour of actual sets . . . which you see depends on what is being shot at the time you are there (when we were there we went on Wisteria Lane, home to all outdoor shots on Desperate Housewives, but if they are shooting they day you are there, you won't). It was a lot of fun, and worth your time (but it is really far from Anaheim).

 Congrats Enna on your tag!!!

She did -- she is in witness protection and unable to give specifics about her identity . . .

My sentiments exactly!

Can tell ya all about bennies of staying onsite at WDW. If similar at DL, dont have to drive or park vehicle, have access to early or late hotel guest only Magic Hours, location, location, location for small children needing time outs, or for adults that need time outs also LOL. Plus you get the Disney attention to detail, and Mickey gets more money, which helps out my Disney Stock Price !!!!

Mark
Fromw hat I have read- it appears that there are lots of hotels, even good neighbor ones, that are as close as DL resorts? :confused3
Do you get in early or stay late for magic hours if you're in a good neighbor hotel, or not?

It sounds like the DL neighbor hotels give you package options for early entry as well.

My kids know where to put the syrup. My husband still doesn't. He asks one of the kids to put it away.

Sounds like my husband sometimes...

My dd is 13 now too. (she has a May b-day so will be 15 for cruise)
We are a cat 10. i think we paid 1,099or 1,199 for my dd as a fourth (at first tier). Not sure if a 4th now would get added at same price.

i have transfers added to our party right now but if we get a good bus rate for DL to the port i'll cancel them.

Cool!
I'm going to PM you... soon as I catch up. :)

Hi again ... After reading all the posts last night, I thought I would book a room at HoJo Anaheim for next year ... I know it is early (they already are expecting a hoard of pirates) but I didn't want to risk not getting a room. I checked and I can cancel anytime up to 48 hours. No money is going to show up on my credit card either. The woman at the other end was very nice, didn't think I was nuts either. She said they already have 90 rooms booked!

So I got a standard room for 2 nights (2 adults) with a Disney view for $99 a night. ($89 a night for no view). You have to call them directly as there online system won't let you book that far in advance.

I agree with DisneyVegas... My planning for this cruise is catching up to my planning for the Med in July. I sure hope I enjoy cruising? I'm doing this a little backwards. First cruise is the Med (cat 10), second cruise is the PC crossing (cat 9), third cruise ??? Aren't you supposed to start off with a 3 or 4 night to get your feet wet?

PS... Just for you Andy >>>> Eh!!!!!

Heyyy, how'd you get disney view for the same price ($99) as I got a regular non-disney view? I wonder if I got charged per person because I have 3 children?

Does anyone know if you can use a WDW Annual Pass at DisneyLand? You couldn't last time I checked but that was about 15 years ago and I don't think you could use ANY WDW tickets at DL back then...

pdarrah (Pamela)

No you cannot use an AP to get in DL. Just like DL APs are not good at WDW. You can however use non expired WDW park hoppers to get in to DL. But it doesn't work the other way around.

Thanks for the info!

Now I have to research the growth curves for my kids to see if they'll still be under 48 inches. (Just kidding about that.)
