Hey, Im headin out to WalMart.........send me your lists and I'll add it to ours........ Any money that Mickey doesnt take........Seems Wally World does !!!!

Mark

You don't want my list. Remember I've been icebound for 5 days with 2 kids and the dogs. My list is LONG.

That's good because I don't know who Angie and Dennis are. But I was thinking about how strange it must seem to you all that we are both talking to each other via DIS when we live in the same house and are only one room apart. Me have the laptop, I could even been sitting in the office and still typing to him via DIS. Good thing the kids don't DIS because then we would have all 4 of us on our puters talking back and forth about nothing. But at least we could provide you all with a little entertainment.

Wow - this sounds like my house, except DH doesn't DIS (yet)! There are three of us and we have four - yes I said four - computers! My laptop that resides on the kitchen table, DH's laptop that resides in the living room with him, DS's desktop in his bedroom, and another desktop in our bedroom that will get moved to the new office closet if I ever get my tuckus in gear!

Yeah I can totally relate. Spent 140 last week myself. But let me warn all you who have teenage daughters. DON'T let them color their hair. It starts out innocent enough but then you end up in Beauty Salon Hades. I made that mistake and it cost me a fortune several time over to make her happy. The hightlights were beautiful, but not to her. The dark red was temporary but not dark enough. The black was great to her but too black for her mom. The blond was awesome to both because it wasn't black!!! But it cost way to much to keep up. So we are back to just the "as close to natural" color for now. Still not great but she will have to be content as we have a Disney Cruise to pay for and can't afford the whims of a teenager anymore.

Makes me really glad I have a DS.
Paula

Well I'm glad it's better today Lisa!

Big Hair is what I miss most from the 80's. By the time it comes back, I'll be wearing a granny bun. A BIG granny bun :lmao: :lmao:

:lmao: You and me both!:lmao:

Well, since I use a box for my hair & wont pay for the salon color...DD isn't going to get it either. ;)

I keep telling DD9 "you have beautiful natural highlights" - true enough, but there is method to my madness!!!!!:rotfl:

I am going to need to do it soon - trying to pluck the grey hairs out is starting to be futile!!!! I will probably try the box thing too - hate the time and expense of the salon....

Hi everyone! I was out on the town with the girls last night, so I am just trying to get caught up here. In honor of the pirates I did order a rum based martini, (or piratini). It was called a Caribbean Dream and it was so yummy!
In fact it was so yummy I had more than one!:woohoo:

That sounds good! Now we just need the receipe!

Well said dear. Sigh........ Wonder if Noah had this much drama on his Ark ??????

Phew! All caught up for the moment. Congrats on the tag Enna! :thumbsup2 Now I promised to take the kiddies sledding so I'm off again. I'll be back to spend another few hours catching up.

Have a good day all!

Sigh! I miss my big hair too. Big hair, big shoulder pads, cutup sweatshirts ala Flashdance... those were the days my friend!

Don't worry though, if the big hair comes back when were grannies, we'll just wear it in a nice shade of granny blue!

Enna, Its Noah's ARK here....... I CAN Handle any list !!!!

Mark

In that case, we could use some dog food.

Hubby just high-sided my vehicle on the ice mounds, so I may be stuck indoors for a while yet.

Well, it wasn't like the tag fairy had been putting that space to good use or anything....

Thank you tag fairy!

If it isn't too much to ask, oh tag fairy, could you PLEASE tend to those on this board who are feeling left out? Please? I promise not to make any more jokes about rugby positions.

The best thing about the TF is that she bestows tags when it is totally unexpected. The surprise is the best part. ;)

Out to brave the elements and visit Wally World. Nobody sent their list's......so maybe I can get out of there in less than 3 hours !!!:scared1:

Nope, not really any perks for staying onsite. And any of the multi day hoppers have 1 early entry. It's just that if you stay onsite you can get early entry on any day that has it. Only 3 days out of the week, and I can't remember what days those are. Go ahead and use the Starwood points. But the only drawback of the Sheratons in the area is that they are not walkable....well maybe the newest one on Harbor, but it would be a far walk at the end of the day.

Can tell ya all about bennies of staying onsite at WDW. If similar at DL, dont have to drive or park vehicle, have access to early or late hotel guest only Magic Hours, location, location, location for small children needing time outs, or for adults that need time outs also LOL. Plus you get the Disney attention to detail, and Mickey gets more money, which helps out my Disney Stock Price !!!!

One word....Monorail. At WDW this means either the GF or Poly (for us) and at DL it's really a wash, as the GC dumps directly into DCA and the monorail drops direcly into Tomorrowland. No transportation issues, no shuttles, driving or parking - just roll out of bed, grab a coffee, shower and pass and hit the parks :)

Then there's the total emersion Disney thing, all the small things in the rooms etc. We stayed off property once - never again. They even pipe the music for the fireworks into the concierge lounge at the Poly and into Narcoossee's if you happend to be there at show time.

Thanks for responses. I did run a 2 night stay w/3 day hopper quote for family of four on DL property for 8/15-8/17 this year to get an idea of cost, it came back $1228 at Paradise Pier  , this was a "standard view" room. A room only was:

$586 for 2 nights at Paradise Pier:eek:
$655 for 2 nights at Disneyland Hotel:eek:
$874 for 2 nights at Grand California:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Guess I was expecting $150-200 per night, but $300-450 a night really seems pricey for Disney immersion (when we're immersed for 15 nights on cruise), monorail and early admission. I think I'd force my family to stay in the room and enjoy it at that rate. I think we'll stay with the free Sheraton.

Thanks again.

My brother in law recently found out he had colon cancer. He is only 51. Well, today he found out that the cancer is contained - he is stage 1! Thank God it hasn't spread! We are unsure what is treatment is going to be but his prognosis looks good. Please feel free to send some prayers and pixie dust our way :).

Before his diagnosis I was able to get him and about 13 other family members together for a cruise planned for this upcoming August. We are doing the 4 day and this is his and a few others first cruise. It is going to be all the more meaningful now!

Mary

I know I am very behind...

Mary, My best wishes to you and your B-I-L.

Which 4-day are you going on in Aug? I will be on the last one (26th).
We have a much more subdued DisMeet for that one!!!

What part of Queens are you from? I was born an raised on Howard Beach.
