Now I know why all you EB Repo guys are not in chat. You are chatting right here . . . OY! Thank GOD I don't have to keep up with THIS thread.

And just an FYI . . . Captain Jack tried to pirate: #5,000 on our measly tortoise thread and was THWARTED!

Arghhhhhhhh!

Good job on the thwartin'! :thumbsup2

My MIL brought hers back to the store where she bought it and they gave her the shelf price for it - which is more than she paid.

Lorri--

Remember I haven't been able to get out of the icy driveway since the recall was announced. The 2 jars of Peter Pan were part of my emergency supply for times when I couldn't get out of the house because of the icy driveway.

Considering DD really WANTED the peanut butter....felt ENTITLED to the peanut butter, there was really no choice but to send Peter Pan to the outside trashcan of doom where even the samonella swabbies would die a horrible, frigid death. Peter Pan be darned, I'm making friends with Skippy now.

(not that I've had a difficult week or anything)

:cool1: :cool1: I'm jealous, but excited for you too!

Sorry. I've been so geeked up TPC cruise and it's 18 months away! Go figure. Last weekend I did get the suit cases out and started packing some things.

But these past two weeks with the cold weird weather, I really need some:beach: And now they say it is going to get up into the mid 30's next week. But I'll take 50's in FL!

At the first quarter parent-teacher conference, DD's kindergarten teacher (who has 36 years of experience) was raving about how much she LOVED those shoes. She declared them to be "cute and practical, and just the sort of thing the kids should be wearing because they can be 100% independant when they need to put shoes off & on." While I was shocked that an educator would endorse velcro over shoe-tying I could see her point--to her it was more important that the kids feel independant & self-confident, and one way to do that was to cut out the stress of shoelaces that consistantly untie.

Ok....off my shoebox.

It is impossible for a teacher to keep all of the kid's shoes tied during the day. That is why they like the velcro shoes. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the prayers and well wishes! We are extremely grateful.

I have four little ones here tonight. My two and my two nephews.
Between feeding, refereeing and cleaning pee off the bathroom floor I am wiped out. I can't wait for them to pass out.:rotfl:

My brother in law recently found out he had colon cancer. He is only 51. Well, today he found out that the cancer is contained - he is stage 1! Thank God it hasn't spread! We are unsure what is treatment is going to be but his prognosis looks good. Please feel free to send some prayers and pixie dust our way :).

Before his diagnosis I was able to get him and about 13 other family members together for a cruise planned for this upcoming August. We are doing the 4 day and this is his and a few others first cruise. It is going to be all the more meaningful now!

Mary

The same thing happened to my nephew. They thought he was in stage 3 till the operated & found out it didn't infect the lymphnodes yet. Thank God! That was about a year ago & he is now doing fantastic. I hope the same for your DBIL! :thumbsup2

I leave for 2 hours to watch POTC DMC and I come back to 16 pages, and my sole sold to the Chonched Out Bar on CC by my BIL.

You people are posting machines. I would have to quit my job to keep up. Of course if I did that I couldn't afford the cruise. Maybe there should be a sub-thread for slow pokes like myself. :)

No, just keep an eye on the posting summaries. If an important planning point is posted or a helpful link...it will be there. :thumbsup2

C*** Enna, I forgot! :grouphug:

I actually told her to just throw the stuff away, but she was having fits and practically begging DH to buy her something today because they couldn't be without their PB and maybe they could eat it anyway! I swear, that woman is trying to k*** both her and my FIL.

Diane,

That is so great to hear! Wishing continued good health to your nephew - and anyone else battling the big "C"!

OK, so I need to say that I in no way was trying to offend anyone with the shoe thing...
I guess my main train of thought was "If my friends who have kids have given in and bought the character shoes, will I give in too eventually when I have a child?"

I mean, I feel pretty strongly about my child wearing only Stride Rite, but I also at one time said that I was ONLY going to clothe my child in Gymboree and Baby Gap! :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

My kids wear what I find on sale at the end of season in sizes bigger than they are wearing now to put away for future use. :thumbsup2

Oh no! Not the pee on the floor.

I hope your night gets better soon.

Lisa,

I'm glad to see you made it through the thread, hope it wasn't too bad of a read for ya.

I'd take FL anyday!

And I think the next 18 months are going to fly by - especially with this gang!

Yes, you will eventually give in, but it won't feel like you are selling out when it happens.

FWIW, Gymboree isn't nearly as cute as it was a few years ago....you know...back before I started spending money on Disney cruises.

That is very true. I love the 1998 lines. DD had quite the collection of it. There are only a few pieces that still fit her. :( I got them on Ebay & thru a gymbo yahoo loop group for $5 per piece or less. Cape Cod, Cotten Candy, Autumn Berries. :( I miss those outfits! They were so cute!!! :(
