Actually I have no opinion, never heard either one.

Meanwhile, if anyone is the praying kind... please say a little prayer for my DH. His shoulder is acting up again- a few years ago he hurt it at work and then the dr put him on light duty for awhile but listed it as "not work related" (which is a bunch of bull! There is no other way he could have hurt it BUT lifting over 500lbs almost on a daily basis at work!). In any case, back then he went on light duty, company paid for the dr visits- but since it was listed at the end as not work related... it wouldn't be covered again if it's reinjured.

Well about a week ago he said it was hurting again and started taking ibuprofen (because the dr, who I'm beginning to think is not that great of a dr, had said it was just swollen tissue inside his shoulder joint/etc.) to reduce any inflammation in there... and well, that and rub on stuff is not helping. Now my husband is NOT a big baby (except maybe a little when he's sick). He's the type he could cut off an arm when trimming a tree and he'd just go oops, KWIM? (something like that- not a good example I suppose). but let's just say he doesn't usually even admit to being in pain and has a HIGH HIGH tolerance for pain. yet the last few days his shoulder has been hurting him pretty bad. What's really bad is that he's still working normally at work because the last person that got put on light duty for a "non work related injury" -they laid him off until he's well enough to work regular duty. We can't afford for him to do that- and I don't just mean to miss out on the cruise... I mean like lose the house, lose the cars, become homeless kind of "can't afford that". KWIM?

I'm going to make him a dr appt tomorrow, but I just hope they don't say he needs surgery or something- or we're in deep doo.... seriously. Prayers please! If it's just inflammation in the previously injured area of that shoulder- we really need it to GO AWAY please.

It's hard for me to see him in pain, because he never shows that he's in pain- yanno? So I know it has to be hurting a lot for him to show it.... and then on top of that to have to see him go off to work every day because he has to.
(fortunately he has off tomorrow... maybe 2 days off in a row will give it a bit of a rest. He is the type that he will NOT try to take it easy at work either. I mean I understand now why he doesn't want to mention that it's hurting, to anyone at work, but he's also not the type to just try to take it easy as much as possible like most of his coworkers would.. he's the gungho hard worker type, KWIM?)

I would not say I'm the praying kind, but I do say a few little prayers everynight & I will certainly add your DH!

Thank you. "the praying kind" just basically means not to offend anyone who doesn't believe in prayers/etc. Yanno? I appreciate the prayers.
If I come across as a little snappy or depressed lately (or soon), please keep in mind that it's incredibly stressful to know that any minute your sole income could disappear when your DH is hurt like this. I'm unbelievably stressed right now. We just bought the new house last Nov! *sigh*

I don't know if I've managed to miss it or something- but did anyone ever answer my question about if the mickey crocs were REAL crocs or a knock off? Because someone mentioned you can switch out the straps on them and on our real crocs the straps are not removable/switchable.

I didn't see that you asked if they were real, sorry, but yes they are. They are made by Crocs, they are not knockoffs.

I've never switched the straps before either but I just looked at my regular pair and my Mickey pair and the straps look the same. If I pull on them, it looks like there's a button/snap sort of thing under the strap that stays on the Croc and the strap pops off. I didn't actually try it though.

I adopted a 45 mph couch potato. He prefers Italian leather. Loves the kids. Occasionally he does a guest appearance to raise awareness or to help increase adoptions. Other than that he just likes to watch the Yankees. Jack

couch potato is the truth!!!! ours also loves kids and other dogs - but only the friendly ones......he loves to do about 5 or 6 break neck laps around the dining room and through the kitchen and living room...that is all the excercise he needs for the day..he loves to lean against us and give us "hugs" with his forehead...biggest baby ever!!!

that is cool about the guest appearances - a local greyhound rescue group does that at our mall once a month!!!!

Oh, yeah . .they were both on board when we were on the Magic in January. Monica actually rememberd my boys from our cruise the previous year. She kept teasing DS10 for beating her at dodgeball . . .LOL

We only know the other one by his nickname, "Taco" My DS10 thought it was the coolest nickname . . .LOL. I think I remember his name tag saying, "George" . . .

So do I get a prize???

No BIP I didn't think you seemed snappy at all. I was just making it clear that I'm not very religious at all, but I do say my own little prayers at night so hopefully any little bit helps.

BTW, not to be a downer, but while we're on the subject. I don't usually ask, but the police officers that work with my DH seem to be having a string of really bad luck. Just this week we found out that one of the officer's little boys has Leukemia & we also found out today that another (a close friend of ours) has a son with a problem with his heart & is in CCU at Children's Hospital in Boston. I do believe in the power of many people sending out prayers, good vibes, good karma or whatever you want to call it. So I appreciate any good thoughts or prayers you can send this way.

Well I couldn't interest DH in learning to play rugby (he was most concerned about personal injury . . .LOL), maybe I can talk him into renewing our vows. Our pastor is teaching on marriage this month . . . Helps me realize how good I have it! I feel like we have to renew our vows every day to keep things lively . . . LOL

Oh and BIP . . .I am the praying kind. I'll keep your DH in our prayers. We've been through layoffs before. There is always work available just to keep you afloat. I have a number of friends that have started successful businesses as a result. Sometimes God closes a door and opens a window . . .

Pirate shopping report. The reason that I am so insanely behind in reading posts is due to trips to WM & Tarjay this afternoon with DD. WM was CRAZY!!! We needed milk & OJ though & I decided to stock up on some of the basics for the next month so that I don't need to do that again for a while. A mounding cart & over an hour later we were checking out. Next was TJ. I haven't been there for a week so made the rounds. The earrings that I have been keeping an eye on for the past 3 weeks were down to 75%...just there waiting for me. Formal night dahling! Beautiful crystal dangly things. Girls had the Vday stuff 75%...and though I know that it will probably go to 90% tomorrow...I just don't want to mess with it. So...I picked up a ton of t-****s for DD. One of them has a monkey on it!!! She will proudly wear it on the cruise. Some scooters to go with them & we were done in that department. Back to the holiday stuff & we pickedd up a few more things that were marked down...Princess vday cards and a t-**** for me too. DS is happy as well because I found a Marvel comic at 50% for him with Xmen...and is reading it right now. The last thing that DD found proves that she is a bargain hunter at heart like her mama. We were in the toy department & she saw a puppy in the stuffed animals. It had a heart tag on it so she said LOOK IT'S ON SALE! She ran off to the scanner & reported that it was 1 . 2 4 and said sale.

Everything is scanned, put away, & dinner is cleaned up so now I can try to catch up here.

Only an hour in WM and only one cart?!?! Geez, we've spent an hour and only filled up a hand basket at times! Then again, before we moved, we spent only 45 minutes at the WM Neighborhood Market and filled up 1-1/2 shopping carts! We LOVED that store!! It's pretty much just the grocery store part of a SuperWM...but has the same prices. It was great because even during "busy" rush times, you could get in, shop, fill up a cart and checkout in 45 minutes or less!

But now, DW is EXCITED AS A SCHOOLGIRL because our fresh milk delivery begins this week!

Even better, they say that this milk--being as fresh as it is (delivered within 2-4 hours of collection)--will be okay for my lactose intolerant tummy

Let me know how that goes. My DD is lactoce intolerant & she is not to thrilled with the lactoce free milk they sell at the grocery store.

I know what you mean, we've been there done that on what we thought was a catastrophe yet really it was just an opening for him to get this job, better pay, enjoys the job a lot more, etc. Unfortunately there really is no way he'd find another job at even a PORTION of what he's making now, and I couldn't even work 4 jobs and make the same- seriously. There is no other jobs in this area that could "keep us afloat". We live in rural Texas and most everyone has to commute far away- and the type of job he has... it's not like he can start out a similar job, even with a long commute, making what he makes now. It would take years to make the same pay, if even possible.
But thanks for trying to add a silver lining to the cloud.
