8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 6

OMG!!!! First hand experience here....NTWINE WAS THE WORST BAND THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!! I will have to nag DH to get some of our video on DVD then on the computer so that I can post some for you to hear for yourself.

YES!! I second the motion, Lisa. . .they were frightening! They only had a repertoire of about a dozen songs. It got so old hearing them over and over again. With all the talent they have on that ship, I was disappointed with the live music. The DJs were much better . . more variety.

However, Michael . . the MC . . was fabulous!

Another laugh for today . . .DS12 took on watching they neighbors dog while they went skiing. We kept reminding each other to go feed the dog after dinner. Well dinner came and went, the boys got ready for bed, the boys WENT to bed . . .Suddenly while I was quietly working and watching Zorro, DS12 came running down the stairs in his pjs saying we forgot the dog!!

DH has a big test tomorrow so he couldn't help. We were hoping our neighbor still wasn't back yet . . . didn't want to walk in on them in the middle of the night. . ..So at 10:30 PM, DS12 put on some close and we headed down the street to feed the dog. Poor guy, he was hungry. We were glad we made it down there AND are neighbor hadn't returned!

Ah the adventure . .

I'm not surprised. It is tough to keep up with this thread, but it's a bit quiet this evening.

Did you check out the summaries on page 1? Believe or not, a lot of the same conversations tend to repeat themselves. That's why we call them groundhogs.

When we were onboard in November, I told DH that everyone on the boards said that NTWINE was really bad, but they try really hard. He said "really? I think they are ok"....LOL I really did not think they were that good.....

But we are not used to the live band scene much. We always caught their show in Rockin bar D while waiting for the adult show at 10:30. Now that was fun! (Not the NTWINE part, couldn't wait till it was over, but the adult cabaret /comedy show!

Well, one thing that I expect from a live band is for them to know the words to the songs that they have been singing for over 2 months week after week. OY! They had the sheet music on the stage with them!!! They ruined celebration at the sailaway. If you can't do that song...you are pretty bad.

Like daughter ... like Mama... thats' how our girls are! I just got back from Office Depot... and the manager gave to OK for me to do the swap... so I'm in the process of uninstalling office and a couple other programs I put on it ... and then I have to hustle back as I got their LAST BOX!

DW's laptop died. This is the 3rd laptop she's had over the last 4 years. Luckily we had the protection plan from Circuit City. Problem is getting them to own up to their own system that they tout every time you buy an expensive item! With the first one that died (Compaq) we got a gift card for the full amount and it was taken care of in the store (a very good friend worked there). The second one (HP) was a TOTAL NIGHTMARE!!!! Since we weren't near our friend any more, we had to go through "the process" of sending off to their depot repair. Pretty straightforward...they send a box via FedEx and we send the laptop back. They shipped it back to us...IT WAS MORE BROKEN THAT HOW WE SENT IT!!! So she goes to the store and raises holy hell about it

. The useless NO customer service people offer to send it off for repair (mind you, it's been non-operational for going on 2 weeks now). We check back the following week and they said the depot replaced the laptop with a new one and it's in!

We go to pick it up and the asst manager comes up to the counter, tosses the box into a bag and tries to shoo us out the door. But we have ammo this time...our neighbor was the store's GM and got promoted to DM--but he introduced us to his replacement and she was in the store. So DW--not trusting this bozo--opens the box......

IT WAS THE SAME LAPTOP!!! So now, the Italian comes out

and she takes the guy's head off in front of everyone! The store GM apologizes profusely and gives us a full refund for the laptop, tax (even though it was tax free) and the cost of the protection plan We used that gift card to buy a VAIO and this one has also died...the HP and VAIO both developed broken power jacks. So now, we're waiting to see if they are going to repair (unlikely) the unit or authorize a refund. BUT!!! She's not interested in ANY computer at CC this time...no, this time she's going to contact a friend who works for Dell and go with them!

Yikes!! I've heard of horror stories like this! I'm so thankful to have an amazing IT guy. It is worth it to have someone that you pay to handle your computer stuff. Mind you, mine is for my business. He handles all our home computers (I work from home) as well.

I have an ACER laptop. I've had it for 18 months and I'll be purchasing a new one as soon as the Vista mess settles.

Consider finding someone you can trust (and pay) to handle your computer issues. I might seem like a lot to start, but it's worth it to have someone who knows what they are doing (not just working for minimum wage at CC).

Ah I see! I think I never saw them at their worst....We had our sailaway canceled due to rain, and since I wanted to hear the horn and watch sailaway from deck 10, I never went to the atrium where the "party" was....just wouldn't be the same.
