Is that 'our' BBC show 'The office'? sounds like it!

Well, they were referring to an American movie called "Office Space", but you are right, it could fit the David, the Ricky Gervais character. I always liked the BBC version of "The Office" better than the NBC version.

Of course the same can be said of "Coupling" and "Changing Rooms".

I haven't seen the BBC version of The Office, I'm sure it's great since the NBC version is so funny. This season isn't quite as good as last, but still funny.

Hi all!

I just got a call from Andy (Verandah Man) & he wanted you all to know that he lost power & is unable to post. Apparently there was a car accident & a pole got knocked over. He doesn't know how long the power will be off, but if it goes into this evening, he will be getting a hotel room. I guess it's really snowing there again & the roads are awful, but the temp is really dropping in his house & they don't have a fireplace, generator, or anything.

Sending best wishes that the power comes on soon for Andy! :wizard:

Thanks for posting that Diane. It was more than just a car hitting a utility pole, it was the ice bringing down tree brances on the power lines all over the area. I just heard on the local news that at least four nearby towns were also effected with the power outage, it sure is nice to have the heat back on!!!!!

:ok...we been together for a very long time...what to do, what to
say?...since i'm very plain & simple= her favorite chocolate bar &
a note of appreciation..."to the sweetest and prettiest thing i know,
just because everything you do, makes me feel special! guess who?"

Once again, you show your sweet side to us. :)

Reading your post made me remember that Valentine's day does have a special place in our heart here. DH proposed on 2/1/97...while we were walking thru the mud pit they were clearing for more homes in our neighborhood...but it is the thought that counts. ;) Definantly unique! Anyhow, my 30th bday was 2/10, and then we drove up to VA to visit the family and take my sister up on her offer to get us a discount on a ring where she worked. That was 2/14. The man at the counter asked me if the ring was going out of the store in the box or on my finger. I looked at DH2B and said that the only way it was going on my finger was if he was down on one knee. DH quickly said...in the box. :rotfl: After dinner he came into the room where I was sitting, got down on one knee and proceeded to make me cry. He said that he hoped that he would make me as happy on my 80th bday as I was on my 30th.

Lisa, just looked at the front page (looks nice btw - thank you for doing that). I did notice that your summaries go from 19,000-20,000 to 21,000-22,000. You left out 20,000-21,000, but it looks like the info under 21-22K is for that block.

Thanks! :)

How romantic, lucky lady!

Doesn't Enna have the power??

Dianne - If this lasts for a few hours, you might want to call Andy back & tell him to turn his faucets on (slow drip/very small stream) so his pipes don't freeze.

It pays to know someone in Alaska! We had to do this in Dec. when it was -20 & our power was out for 6 hours.

I work for our local water department, when it gets real cold here, that's exactly what I do, even if the heat is on. We have water pipes in our crawl space and I don't want to take the chance of them freezing, I've seen too many frozen pipes in my day!!! ;) Thanks for thinking of us!!! ;)

That's just a crazy amount of posts! Watch, when we all finally meet in person, we'll have nothing to say to one another...........FAT CHANCE!

That's what we wondered on the 12/9 cruise but didn't happen. It's like meeting up with friends who you know a lot about already and picking up from where you left off. :thumbsup2

Yeah...:sad2:

Oh, and I also forgot to add (in case it wasn't already bad enough) that he asked if he could use MY credit card to order jewelry for his "girlfriend", and he would give me cash!!!!
(Because he didn't want the lawyers to see on his credit card statement that he ordered jewelry from Tiffany's. :sad2: )

Needless to say, I promptly replied "NO!".

OK...I saved my feelings from the last time you posted & was nice but that guy is dispicable & disgusting. What an imbicile!!!! (sp? but too upset with the post to take the time to look it up. ) Where did the flaming smilie go?

Yeah, we will have to pretend that we are looking at our pc screens!:surfweb: If someone talks too slow I will try to resist the urge to hit them upside the head like I do my pc, not knowing if it's my pc slowing down or the boards! LOL!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh my! Thanks for letting us know! Hope that they are able to restore power ASAP!

Are we going to do any scrapbooking on the cruise? I'm really awful at it and would love to get together and do something as a group...

Mary

We have talked about doing a scrapbook swap. Not really possible to bring all of our supplies to work on anything onboard.

Glad the power is back on -- and I think your typo is correct: NOT to go back and see what you missed would be the correct course of action.

That's what I get for typing with gloves on!!! :rotfl2:
