Just spoke to DW a little while ago. She has been on and off a plane at Phil. Int'l for the last 7 hours. As of now, they're on the plane, waiting in a long line to be de-iced. Could take them a few more hours to take off. Or, it could take them a few more hours to decide to cancel the flight and send everyone home.

She's heading to San Diego for a big meeting that she is largely responsible for. I guess her boss, who went out a day earlier to do a site visit in San Fransisco will have to run the meeting if DW can't get there. That would actually be really fun to see!

hope she stays safe either way!!!!

I bought the DCL scrapbook and page kits in August. Haven't even broken the plastic. I used to scrapbook all the time, but haven't had time the last few years. I did put the pictures from August into a photo album. Haven't done that in a long time.

Unfortunately, I think your hubby was driving along with the storm. I'm sure it wasn't such a fun drive for him, but I'm glad he's home safe & sound!

Happened to call up to NY (Watkins Glen area) today, and they said they already had 14 inches of snow on the ground. Hope you are staying warm & safe indoors today!

I think so too! He was hoping to get ahead of the storm - but it took him forever to get out of MD - not weather as much as just bumper to bumper traffic.....he said he drove through fog, icy/slushy mix, heavy snow, ...you name it!!! Thank you!

Oh, and I also forgot to add (in case it wasn't already bad enough) that he asked if he could use MY credit card to order jewelry for his "girlfriend", and he would give me cash!!!!
(Because he didn't want the lawyers to see on his credit card statement that he ordered jewelry from Tiffany's. )

Needless to say, I promptly replied "NO!".

hmmm Well I would have let him use the credit card!

And then I would have called the credit card company

and filed a complaint about credit card fraud and identity theft, told them who I suspected and "innocently" let slip about marriage separation, divorce lawyers, cooking the books etc. And then?

I second that for everyone stick in bad weather. Last night the news here in CA showed accident after accident from the snow and ice. So scary. Please be safe.

Just sitting here relaxing because our electric went out about an hour ago (1:50pm on 2-14-07). Happy Valentine’s Day to us. It was 72* in the house when the power went off, we are now down to 65* time to bundle up. The electric company said it could take until tomorrow morning to get our power back on. Hey, at least we are saving on our electric bill, LOL!!!

If things get too bad, we might be looking for a hotel room for the night, if we can find one in the area with electric that is, LOL!!!

Angelina went to her friend’s house after school and they don’t have any electric at her friend’s house either. Looks like this is a wide spread outage, oh joy!!!

At least I do have some battery life left on my laptop and I am saving this message in Microsoft Word so I can post it later.

Well, I guess that’s all for now.

Update:

Yea, the power came back on around 4:30pm, went back off for about two minutes, then came back on and stayed on, at least for now, LOL!!!

It’s back up to 67* and climbing!!!

Now to go back and see what I missed the past few hours.

Hi all!

I just got a call from Andy (Verandah Man) & he wanted you all to know that he lost power & is unable to post. Apparently there was a car accident & a pole got knocked over. He doesn't know how long the power will be off, but if it goes into this evening, he will be getting a hotel room. I guess it's really snowing there again & the roads are awful, but the temp is really dropping in his house & they don't have a fireplace, generator, or anything.

Sending best wishes that the power comes on soon for Andy!

Andy, you guys are not have too much luck today.....hope it all works out!

ETA- Oh good Andy, I just read that power is back on...Yeah!

That is what I usually do. When DH was gone for months I tended to be on here until 1 or 2 am.
