So ... what say I race ya ta the next 100 mile marker?

<chuckles>

Just kidding...

I gotta give the kids a bath pretty soon...
brush teeth, have floride pills, etc...
then I gotta get them to bed...
No, I didn't. but a fellow wench did. :rotfl: I've had my share of mini's. I don't think I'll ever get anything but a mini but such is life!

Where are you that you're just getting the kids in bed?

Just wanted to check in on my future sailing buddies . . . I finished my work and should be going to bed. BUT they are calling for a DUSTING of snow . . .can't you folks in the midwest share just a little . . .

I noticed that. It's what made me think you might have the same deal going on. One thing I've learned from this whole odessy is how connected everything really is! It's really quite amazing.

Give Nothin' Back!!

I think that's the correct response? It's the first time I've tried.
Just call me a....

Pirate in Training

Ooooo. Does that make me a PIT?
:rotfl2:

Well, this PIT needs to go off an make lunches for the boys tomorrow. I'm single mom-ing it until next Monday.

TTFN!

LOL . . very cute . . .DS10 thinks that if we get an inch of snow that he'll be able to make a snowman. Problem is that the snow isn't going to packing snow. It is SOOOOOO dry here (dew point was -8 degrees F!). My DS gave the boys a snowman making kit for Christmas THREE Christmas's ago. They have yet to use it!

Besides, we want to give the kids here every opportunity to miss school . . . okay it's kinda selfish . . we like having Busch Gardens Williamsburg to ourselves in May and June (while the locals are in school . ..LOL).

So send on the snow . ..

... I admit to hailing from Westlake Village - California. It's 9:27 PM but my kids get thier bath about now ... and I try to get them in bed by 10:30-11PM. I'm a SAHD who also works from home (been doing so for 18+ years). I never had to rise in the early morning unless I had a morning flight... so I am "set" in my ways about sleeping late nite and rising late. Plus with the older one just in K-school... I am fortunate for now to have her in 2nd session. SO I just have to get her into school around 10:30AM... and the younger one goes in for slightly more than half a day to P-school ... but I always try to hustle her in by 9:45AM to make it for the cognitive circle time.

Si that's my daily drill M-Th. Friday is another schedule as there is no P-school for the little one.

Next year will be different because the older one begins full day schoolin' in 1st grade. I'm not lookin' forward to the change in schedule...

Usually here in Texas IF we get snow- it's very little and usually gone by that afternoon (ie: melted). We had snow recently for one day and it wasn't much AT ALL, just a light dusting really, but for once it didn't all melt by that afternoon. My kids went hogwild and built teeny snowmen. By the next day all the light dusting of snow had melted except on the roof of the house and those teeny snowmen! They were on the surrounding area of the pool instead of on the grass- so the ground didn't warm up and melt them.
I put them in the front landscaping on TOP of the wood shavings stuff out there in the landscaping near the porch and they stayed that way, did not melt, for DAYS. The kids were so excited about the teeny snowmen. Then one day after I picked them up from school the snowmen were beheaded. Their wittle heads had fallen off and melted. Poor snowmen.

You sound like me except I'm a SAHM. But I prefer late to bed, late to rise also. We can only do that in the summer now though because my kids are older and my YOUNGEST is in 1st grade now. :( But back in the old days when they were younger- I did it exactly like you. I didn't do early bedtimes until they were in school and had to get up early the next day. Unfortunately I have yet to get MYSELF on that schedule, as you can see. LOL

It's tough being a snowman all over I guess....

With this cruise a distant 18 months away, what are some of your other vacation plans?

Paula

At the end of March I'm off with my Mum to Ecuador and Peru for 3 and a half weeks.

Then maybe another trip to somewhere a little closer to home later in the year.

Robert is going to India with his Mum in November.

LOL . . homeschooling is the life for me . . .We don't get up before 8 AM most days :) It's close to the top of the list for me. I just don't do mornings very well (except on the DCL when I want to see Capt Tom slide that ship into port . . .):cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

okay, you west coasters . . .I gotta get some sleep . . .no snow yet. .. :confused3

Can't wait . . .

I missed a lot today. Stupid work. Then I spent my evening attending a HS basketball game with 20 Tiger Cubs (1st grade Cub Scouts). Yeah, I'm havign a drink now.

So here is what I would have said if I had been there at the time.
(Cue Wayne's World "doolidoooo dooolidoo doolidooo")

Lessee, we leave for Hawaii in 33 days. We figured we'd go now while it is close. Plus, I'll get to mark off another state I've visited (42 so far).

We'll spend the summer homeless & wandering the country. Vacation? Demented and sad, but a vacation.

DH is running the WDW Marathon in Jan. '08 & I'm skating the WDW In-line Marathon in April '08 (these will only be long weekend type trips.)

I mentioned a few pages back (who am I kidding, it was probably 100 or so) that we are looking at going to CA sometime to take DS to Legoland, Disneyland and the SD Zoo.

You GOTTA go to the San Diego Wild Animal Park. It's run by the same organization - but much cooler IMO. Don't get me wrong, go to both if you can. I love SDZoo, we had passes for the 3 years we lived in SD, but we always took our friends to Wild Animal Park when they visited SoCal.

A few tequilas and I can sing too ...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Or at least I think so ..:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

pirate:

It could be worse - it makes DH 10 feet tall and bulletproof.

Whoa, things really slowed down tonight! I expected to come back and find a bunch to read. LOL

Do you guys have any idea how huge this thread is going to be by the time we cruise? I mean the other one I was on was a huge group and we were all posting way early too- and massive posts like this thread, but but but... I think there's only like 54,000 or so posts on that thread even 6mo after the cruise. We're already up to 13000 something with what- less than a month on the thread with 18mo left to go before the cruise? :rotfl: We should rename ourselves blabbermouths- the really big blabbermouths. LOL
