Me too. We ruined an almost brand new Canon camera on our Caribbean cruise. We just walked from our air conditioned room to the deck and there was so much mist/fog/condensation - it was ruined.
I have been saving every one of those little baggies of chemicals that they put everywhere to absorb moisture and was going to keep them in my camera bag but need better hints.

I wonder if those new Ziplock bags (that work like the foodsavers) would be a good packing item. On our 06 cruise our video cam locked up quite a bit. We now have a new Hard Drive one.

I guess I will start saving the "DO NOT EAT" packets for my camera case. I never thought of that, as humid isn't something we deal with that often here...but it is supposed to be 10 degrees here tomorrow with a windchill of 30 below. BRRR.:cold:

I can see it now --- what happened to all the silica bags that usually come in the shoe boxes at Kohls??????:confused3

Which Poison Control did you call - people or animal?
....... Even called back 2x over the next few days to make sure she was OK.

FYI - 20 or so Flintstone vitamins will not kill a 45 lb. dog. I know this now.

And a Dalmatian can eat over 50 chocolate chip cookies and live too!!! Of course she had to spend most of the next day outside....:rotfl:

Thank you!

Well, I sure do resemble that remark! :) I have LOTS of operator error. I always count on the "mistake" photo that ends up being blown up and framed because it looks like a professional planned it out. I took one like that with my little Nikon when I did a transatlantic cruise. On Funchal, Madeira, I was walking past the park -- didn't even stop, just snapped several pics as the group was walking -- and came up with this:

WOW, nice pic:thumbsup2
What kind of Nikon do you have ?

I First Introduced myself on this thread after being one of the lucky ones to snag a room for this sailing. The thread quickly became overwhelming and I didn't have time to keep up with the postings. Life became hectic with a sick Baby and the last time I checked postings there was a information thread at the beginning that gave summaries of the postings and information on the ports, excursions etc......I see that is gone now. Is it hidden away somewhere that I am not seeing? Well life is getting back to normal now. My baby is now 2 and doing GREAT after her open heart surgery in July. What a difference in her!! Our family is now getting excited again for this trip!! We are looking at it being a special celebration because it will be one year since her surgery and she will turn 3 on the cruise!!! We have 4 Children. The youngest will turn 3 on the sailing. We have a son who is 5. A Daughter who is turning 8, and a son who will be 10 this Spring. All of a sudden it feels like this cruise is Right Around the corner !!!! We have done nothing to plan and now I feel like there isn't enough time, although of course their is!!! We have done the 4 Day cruise and Last winter we did the Western . Our family can't wait to spend 15 days on our favorite place to be in the world !! WE hope this time we have enough time to do everything we want to do!! Well if anyone knows of a summary page or cruise information page to help me that would be great!! Thank You!!

;) Hello fellow Pirates :wave2: When last I had some time to post, I think I was ear-deep in soccer season with my boys, looking for a new job and thinking about selling our house. WELL ... I'm happy to report that soccer season has ended ... and nothing else has much changed in my world :rotfl2: I'm still looking for that "perfect" job, and we're still probably, more-likely-than-not going to sell our house and move into something different in the near future.

I've been following along with the thread as much as possible, and reading my newsletters faithfully ... THANK YOU!! My thoughts are with everyone that needs them for any of those good or bad reasons that pop up in all of our lives

I think I recently read that M was looking for help with a task force Happy Hour, and I think I can help out w/that one. Anyone else need help with task force Happy Hours, I'm your girl! ;)

We attended a family wedding earlier this month, and got some great shots that I'll be sending along with our family bio for inclusion on the website ... that is as soon as DH remembers which "safe place" he put the XDCard in, since he was fearful of the camera getting lost or stolen from the bag that HE was responsible for

I've been asked by aforementioned DH, if there might be any pirates amongst the group that would be interested in an excursion to Sammy Hagar's bar in Cabo for some tequilla tasting :confused3

Take care all!
Kandi

:cheer2: :cheer2: WELCOME BACK:cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi

Diane I will keep you invite in mind as well as all the others I have recieved! This has got to be the friendliest bunch of pirates! Now I can tell Brendan he can go diving and I will be occupied! LOL

I am totally up for a Cabo Wabo trip! I love Sammy Hagar (music not him personally..lol)...plus if Margeritas are there..so am I!

Chrissie

Sounds like more people going to Cabo Wabo ....wahooo

Well let's put it this way....Mike doesn't owe me a drink on the cruise! I am such a loser! :sad2:

I know I am the queen of excuses, but I really did do some work on it the other day, but that was the day my computer broke & my thesis is stuck in that hard drive. We now have a new one (which is why I'm posting away today & boy is this thing fast) but I have to figure out how to get my thesis out of my old hard drive. I do have a copy so I can retype it if I have to but I'll lose the little work I did do. Even my DH said it must be a conspiracy!

Anyway, that's my story...thanks for asking! :goodvibes

OMG, How frustrating:hug:
Ever since my hard drive crashed at work I've been paranoid and make copies of all my work. So much for "paperless"

Hang in there:goodvibes

Um I don't think that's who you want backing you! ;)

Here's a party van that looks great but you have to request a quote:

10.jpg

LIMO PARTY BUS
24-30 passengers limo party bus cd sound system,
tv & dvd wet bar, toilet , and much more.

I kinda like that there's a turlet on board!

Oh yeah , I like the Stripper Pole in the back ...LOL
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

pirate:

Figures a Man would see that!! :rotfl2:

You beat me to it. I can't imagine a toilet in a limo.
Is anyone going into chat?

Hello all - I finally get online and now I can't access chat. Is there a problem? Did it move? Just checking to see if anyone was online.

Im always up for some Tequila tasting , and doing it at Sammy's place is a bonus ...count me in ...Cabo Wabo it is ...

I'm in too... No worms please

We're looking into something like this too. There is a hummer limo that does a hollywood/LA tour for 4 hours for 24 people at appx. $750 including gratuity so that comes out to $31.25 per person. Any takers? I would gladly be in charge of planning this if anybody is interested?

I'd be up for this too.... We come in on Thursday sometime...

1 "concerta" pill
blue water
small tube of toothpaste

Abby lived through several pairs of socks but needed help to pass the ace bandage she ate once....Don't ask almost as much of passage for one on the TOAL....

A couple of things Mike....

Yowzers . . . a "couple" of things?! :)

You really gave me a lot to think about there, Captain Crash. I will ponder upon it all tonight and, if I come up with a revelation and/or a fix for this poor world of ours, I will be sure to post it! :rotfl:

Seriously, thanks for the thoughts.

I can tell you right now that I do not want something with all sorts of manual settings as you are not going to see this kid any time soon in a photography class. The expression, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks," applies quite aptly to me!

No conspiracy here! I am completely innocent, and if you don't believe me, I'm sure I can get Crash to back me up on that!

:

Yup....

I can speak out and affirm Mikes' INNOCENCE....

What kind of Nikon do you have ?

You're going to laugh . . . but, I don't remember. (The camera is in my office and I'm at the house right now.) I think it is a 5 megapixel Nikon Coolpix. I know that it was one of the last ones that still had the larger CompactFlash cards. The next generation went to SmartMedia cards. I'll check when I get into the office and give you the correct model number.

YAY! Enna's back!
:wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave::wave:

Which Poison Control did you call - people or animal?
I called the animal number I got from my vet & they were going to charge $30-$40 bucks (ASPCA runs it). I love my dog, I was going to pay it, but I was on hold for about 5 minutes waiting to talk to a person. So I hung up and called the people poison control line & they helped me for free. Even called back 2x over the next few days to make sure she was OK.

FYI - 20 or so Flintstone vitamins will not kill a 45 lb. dog. I know this now.

Thanks for the warm welcome back.

I called the regular Poison Control number. They knew I was calling about a dog, but they still needed her name and age for their records. Thank goodness she had a human-sounding name.

Fortunately, I think most of the toxic doses by weight can be googled now.

Yes, YAY! Enna, it was wonderful to check in for the first time today and have your post right at the top of the first page I checked! How is everything????

Things are ok here. We had a rough fall due to various health issues, but things are better overall. For a while I didn't know that we'd be travelling this summer, but we have airfare and are submitting the last two passport applications (for the kids) tomorrow, so I guess we're going to be onboard no matter what.

Hi Everyone,
I know it's been awhile :rolleyes1 Now I am trying to finally get into chat and can't, what's up with that?:confused3

I started a new position with company this past week, wouldn't call it a promotion because it's the same pay. I am now working full time !! UGH not really all that happy about it but that is another story. It has been a very stressful week. My supose title is scheduling manager for parts of Indiana, Michigan, Chicago.

Takes a good hour each way to drive and always rush hour traffic again ugh !

I just figured you'd gone deeper into witness protection.
