Thanks Paula, how was your vacation?

It was a wonderful Roger. We got to see so much of the country. We made some wonderful friends while there. The wildlife was awesome, when I get my pictures all transferred I will share some. The sweetest things we saw were 2 different mama monkeys and their babies. 10 days and 5 different hotels was a bit of a challenge--lots of time on a bus--I think I much prefer cruising, but I would do another one in a heartbeat. The only part of Costa Rica we didn't see was the north shore were most of the Americans live--I will definetly go back one day.:goodvibes

I posted this before but it was right before a pirate run and it got lost. Anyone heard from Bippity Boppity Boo? Are they still coming or is this another "clueless Coral" thing?

Coral, I was wondering about Shelley too.:confused3

BIP was on a month or so ago and said that she had been busy but as I remember she was still going.

I guess at the 2 month or 6 week mark we will get another count. I can understand people laying off the thread over the last 6 months but now is the time to start really planning. For me a large part of the fun is the planning/anticipation.

We are contemplating a last minute trip to WDW for Spring Break. We are comparing Spring break to July and the temperature won out for SB but it is a lot more expensive. Has anyone been mid March and was it perfectly awful on crowds?
Mind you we have never been at what the experts say is the highest peak times.

We've been several times for spring break, and found it crowded, but no more really than in the summer months. Also the weather seemed to be better none of the summer rain showers.

I've signed up Darren, Andrew and Kelly for this zipline trip last night:thumbsup2

I have some issues with anxiety in general that I need to resolve before I can do or even plan something like this for me though:confused3 :)
I am toying with just signing myself up as an observer. How long is the actual zipline part and can I use the water slide, rope swing, etc while they zipline ?

Pluto, Maybe your wife and I can hang out while you and the rest do the zipline:goodvibes
Or I may need a shopping buddy if I decide to do something else instead:confused3 (I don't want to sit around waiting hours for the zipline to finish if I don't have something fun to do:confused3 )

My understanding is that you have 15 or 20 minutes of "training" to use the zipline, and then the actual ziplining is about 45 minutes or so (depending on how long your group takes to get it done!). So Laurie, I believe you would only be hanging out without your family for an hour or so, and I am sure you could be in Pancho's or swimming during that time.

I wonder what zipline company Disney is going to use? As it sits right now,I'm gonna hafta use OBC to pay for it.

OMG, I just hit my 3,000 post!

Congrats on your 3000th post!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I will PM all those that had interest in this trip late last year.

Thanks for doing this, Roger -- although it's not really something we have to plan, since we book it on our own, it will be neat to keep a list of who will be doing it together! (And we can take pictures of each other, as well . . .)

We have gone several times during spring break (and will be there this year from March 24-30) . . . it is crowded, but not as bad as the week between Christmas and New Year's which we have done several times and is insane. The weather is wonderful.

When is your spring break in relationship to Easter? The most recent SB trip we took was 2006 and we went before Easter. Arrived the Friday 1 week before and stayed until the Tuesday before. Saturday wasn't too bad, but we did see an increase in crowds. But if you are staying onsite and don't mind napping during the day, the have plenty of Extra Magic Hours that help with the crowds. We found it manageable by doing everything early and late, then spending midday at the resort.

I have found myself with a little free time. :yay:

How is every one?

I'm pondering that burning question... Do I try to ketchup from Christmas or do I just jump in?

I hate to think I missed something good.

I wanna do it! And I was thinking.... maybe I could rig a zip line through my BACKYARD too! I have a certain length along one axis of our property and ... well ... it's mere fantasy more than anything else. But, wierder things have come to pass in our home. I'm gonna personally hand build that cabanna this summer - as we've settled on most of the details now. Well... I will subcontract out several tasks - like foundation and electrical work.

Ziplayout1.gif

So, on my daughter.... I took her to the doc yesterday on account of her tossing her cookies in the morning. The DOc said it's viral so no meds. Just give it time as it should run its' course in 3 days... if not then on monday the fever and symptoms should persist and they'd like to see her again to do some lab work. As it turns out she was becoming more of herself late last nite - and this morning shes' still asleep but feels normal in temperture. If she awakens normally she's gonna be hungry and ravenous. I've already stocked the fridge with her usual favorites - not that we're ever lite on any of the kids' favorite things 'round here.

As for me... still occasional coughing now... I think Ithink I'm getting better but its' been a slow and truly annoying process.

I don't know how much I'll be catching up on today. If things go well this morning then I wanna take the family out fer a nice brunch. We found a place we really wanna try "in town"... only the older daughter has to be well enough. Also, there had been some mention of going skiing today IF the older girl was well enough. I don't realy ski anymore... I just take pictures from the lodge and drink tons of hot cocoa. So there is even a remote possibility we'll do that or maybe seek out snow just to throw snowballs. It's maybe an hours' drive to reach the snow and a rare treat for us. hence I may miss the pirate run if we don't pick up the pace soon. :surfweb:

Lisa,

I ... ALWAYS try to catch up. The multiquote helps organize the process if ya can't fully catch up in one sitting. As of lately, I'm not that far behind as I've sort of been gone for short stretches... and you are right... you just might miss something worth the chuckles if ya skip it all!

Now just you remember.... keep ketchin' up until (at least) the next pirate sprint gets' siezed by another swabbie. Then you can reconsider "jumping in" and skipping the catchin' up thing!

When I logged on I did notice we were reasonably close to a pirate run. pirate:

So, I for one can't wait for the next 35 years of watching old, pathetic versions of Tom Brady, Randy Moss & Teddy Bruschi being trotted out onto TV, clutching a bottle of champaign ever time a team starts 12-0.

Move over Nick Buoniconti, Larry Csonka, and Bob Griese.

******

FYI Bill Belchic'ks record as Brown's head coach: 36-44 which makes him arguably the worst coach in Cleveland history. Nice.

*******

In an odd twist of playoff logic...the Browns can do whatever they want today.

GO COLTS!!

Gotta love the NFL. If the Browns and Titans each finish the season 9-7 the Browns go to the playoffs. If they each finish 10-6, the Titans go. :confused3 :confused3 Go Colts!

As an illustration of what a non-sports type person I am, I have no idea what any of this means. :lmao: :lmao:

Paula!

I'm guessing I'm late in welcoming your family home! Howebver, better late then never, eh? At any rate, I'm sure my setiments are echoed by all in that we'd LOVE to see your pictures! Frankly, Alicia and I have never been to Costa Rica or anything like that ... and it's one of the places I'd like to eventually get to. We've done some guided tours overseas so the 5 hotels in 10 day thing sounds pretty standard - even sedate compared to how some tourists tavel. I've seen folks who litterially have changed city and (obviously) hotel every day for a couple of weeks! :happytv:

Lisa,

Never you mind about this. Even though "I" understand what it all means... I'm not any kind of sports enthusiast. That, supposedly was one of the things my spouse liked about me as she didn't want to settle down with someone who was glued to the TV watching football, basketball, baseball or whatever.

Now, I do enjoy watching almost any game - especially when it's broadcast in high def.... and i have been a live spectator to most kinds of sporting events (IE, no wrestling or roller derbies, yet) and enjoy going. Only thing is I don't go out of my way to pay thekind of prices some of these events demand. IE, I generally go if tickets are GIVEN at no cost to me. The last 2 pro sporting events we attended were a Womens' Tennis grand slam in LA and I think prior to that it was a "Final Four" backetball game. The former I actually paid cash for. To this date I can't recall who was playing or won in either of these "events".

Now, did someone mention something about a pirate sprint?
