I usually forget to post when I get up. Busy watchining Bargin Hunt & Cash in the Attic.

We met a couple from Japan on our Mexican Riveria cruise on 2005 and have kept in touch. They are going on a cruise to Alaska Aug 2nd with Princess, so we send them our cd of our Alaska cruise. A really nice couple, they are real disneyholics

Sometimes life just sidetracks best laid plans. I wanted to come on last night and chat with y'all, catch up on e-mail, generally harass y'all, etc., but ended up going out and playing fireman. Did I mention I have been a volunteer for 25 years this February? (Crash maybe one of the upcoming 7 questions should be "Tell us something about you we don't know).

Last night was bad, one or worst in years. Fatal accident time 5. I got to sit in station and guide the cover companies, but still was a long call. When it was over, the son of a former chief and friend of mine started repeatedly saying he couldn't get it out of his mind and didn't think he was going to be able to sleep. I talked to him for a while then took him out to a quiet bar, bought him a beer and talked one on one for a few hours....I think he is doing better.

Thank you for those who e-mailed to tell me where chat was being held. I did get on about 1:30 eastern (on Piratezone, DIS was kerflunked at that point) but it was just Arlene and Esteri left. Guess all the east coasters (other than Arlene) were calling it an early night.

Nice to see the boards up and running (dare I say fast?)

Have a happy Saturday.

OK Pirate Wenches & Swabbies -

I figure New Year's weekend is a perfect time to resurrect the "Getting our Magic Back" thread over on WISH, so I bumped it to the first page.

Here is the link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=22310941#post22310941

Anyone setting a health/fitness goal for the new year come on over for support, encouragement and celebration.

I stress HEALTH OR FITNESS goal! Life isn't about the numbers on your scale, or your dress tag, or your waist band. It's about setting goals and working toward them. Pick just one thing that works for you and jump right in! Here are some ideas:

Commit to drink less soda (or margaritas!).
Commit to taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
Commit to moving X times a week - walking, biking, dancing, whatever - bring DH/DW and the kids along
Commit to packing your lunch for work.
Commit to eating your veggies.
Committ to an event or a distance (fun run, walk 2 miles or swim 10 laps non stop, etc.)

Whatever your weight goal, set a fitness or health goal and share your trials and triumphs with your pirate friends.

There is nothing more attractive than someone who is happy and comfortable with who they are - no matter what their size.

The new server seems to run a bit quicker on the crackberry too....

I definitely need the support.

We were in row Q. I have a Canon Rebel and I used my 18 -200 macro lense. Of course no flash, on *action* auto -- although I do use an external flash, not the little *pop up* that comes on the camera.

I really need to learn to use my camera better! LOL! I know it can do fantastic pics -- I've seen the pics others have taken with the same camera! LOL!

I also need to catch up in the camera department:rolleyes1
You're way ahead of me:confused3 ;)

Hey folks, I'm back to South America in 2009:woohoo:

My brother and his wife were married in May 2006 in a very small civil ceremony and promised to have a big wedding in a few years. Since her family is in Brazil-that's where the wedding will be:cool1:

I gotta start saving now as well as find a portuguese dictionary:rolleyes1

Anybody been there ?

What fun!

Dh has been a couple of times (business -- Brazil is pretty big in the leather biz) and I have a friend that is Brazillian.

I love going to new places!

LOL! I do love using my DSLR but, I usually keep a little 3yr old p & s digital in my purse. :)

Finally, after 2 and 1/2 years, I bought a frame for this DCL poster that I bought off of eBay. I asked the people that are hosting our DCL House Party if they would like to use this poster, they said, "Yes, by all means" that's why it is in a frame today............:rotfl2: The poster is 36" by 24"

OK, I have to get ready to get out of here and head to the Atlantic City area. I'll check in later tonight if we get home early enough, bye for now........

My DH told me to buy a sheet & cut a hole in it for my head. Sure & maybe I could buy a Bedazzler to really make it chic!

Diane, I hope you gave him an earful after that comment.

Well.....

... I may be coming into this a little late (just 2 days after the fact) but Diane, I thought you'd find this "sheet dress" entertaining as consideration for those wise cracks from your DH. After 24 years of happy shopping with my spouse (as some may recall - I keep her company shopping, carrying bags, rendering opinions on things she tries - and yeah, a few might even quip I've been well trained - while others who know me better would quip I am actually totally untrainable) .... as I wuz saying... after 24 years with my spouse I know better then to say anything like what you received. I just render numerical scores generally from 6 up through 12 on a 1 to 10 scale.

At any rate, here is the image with the original caption below it...

Linen sheet dress by Wunderkind, $2,804 at Saks Fifth Avenue; white metallic-washed goatskin Nimble flats by Jimmy Choo, $430. Photographed at Schiller's Liquor Bar.

Personally, I've only shopped extensively at Off 5th.. Saks' factory outlet. And even then I rarely find things of interest to - except tuxedoes and some nice - slightly unusual shirts.

Sorry we missed you last night but obviously you were needed in another capacity for a higher good than chat.
