Thanks for the reminder Roger. I just booked for the 5 of us, plus our friend who is sailing with us. Now I'll be keeping my fingers crossed til we get our confirmation!

Speaking of which, our friend Betsy, who is a fellow DIS'er as well, starts her new job tomorrow. She hasn't posted on the thread yet, because she wanted to be sure that everything worked out and that she will be able to cruise with us all. She has the official OK on her vacation time for August, so hopefully she'll be posting on here soon to introduce herself! (Betsy, if you're reading this...quit lurking and get to posting!)

I'm working on Kevin's App. He had a passport waaaay back in 1973,never renewed,I have'nt the faintest idea what the Passport # is and it isn't allowing me to finish the app. Now what?

If the passport has been expired for more than 15 years, you pretend that you never had one & use the New Passport application (so you don't need the number). The renewal form is really only if you want to use your old passport as the documentation of citizenship. Since you don't know where it is, you'll be using other documentation.

Took dd to the mall yesterday to get her ears peirced at Clare's. She did real well, but you should of seen her face after the girl did the first lobe! Never saw eyes so big, but she didn't scream or cry! She picked out her May birthstones, emeralds, for the starter earrings. So I let her get them done 4 months before her 10th birthday.

My DD was the same way. Also May birthstone I think it helped that another little girl was watching with her Mom as well

I just confirmed Hazel and I to attend one of the DCL House Parties on 1/26/08. A fellow DIS'er (allears) invited us last evening. I found out that this DIS'er lives just 3 exits away from us off I-295. This family is also going on their 7th DCL cruise the week after the party, lucky them..........

We want all the details!!!!

Esteri , The white ones look great , but I am not so sure about the black and red ones ....the white behind it is killing the look ...The logo wasnt designed to have the white behind it like that ......Pm me if you wanna ask me anything off the board

I really don't want to get into 'design by committee', because I know how that goes, but to they have a clear transfer medium? It might make the black & red look a bit crisper.

I'll ask about clear transfer medium. This is pretty new technology and I'm not certain how many options there are. A clear medium would certainly solve the problem.

If there is no clear medium then we can look into trimming it closer to the edge of the artwork. Cutting out all the letters will be a pain, and will certainly add to the cost. Not for the cutting, but for pulling out all the extra - that's all done by hand.

If we don't go with this technology then we're looking at screens - which has the set up costs involved, and really limits our flexibility. As well, we'd loose ALL the detail. The best you can do with screens, or any of the other current technology is about 100-150 dpi. So, the artwork will look pixelated. I saw samples of 4 color processing with screens - and we discussed what the finished product would look like.

Also, without the white outline parts - red will be out as a choice - we'll definitely loose the lettering on the front.

Maybe your "forgetting" was wishful-thinking trying to get you out of the event! They must have had some tickets other than the kids - they couldn't have been sending them without chaperons, could they?

It is still snowing here ... it is hard to believe that there wasn't a speck of snow here at 8AM this morning. If this keeps up, I am going to close my office early (total sacrifice - right? )

The ushers at the UCF arena were very helpful to DH.
As far as the chaperones go, my DD needed to be present with the older kids as they have a medical condition and if needed she would have to administer a shot. Since no one at the school or district level would allow anyone other than her to carry the meds, she made it quite clear she needed to be on each trip. Needless to say, the teachers never put her name down and she always had to take her own car and try to follow the buses to and fro.

I signed on to chat on the pirate zone. We are using that tonight as I am the only one there at the moment I'll just have to check every so often...............

You know I thought for sure I would, now I'm not so sure. I planned on working on it today, but after lunch I drove my son's friend home (which took about 90 mins.) after a sleep over & then I went food shopping & cooked dinner & now I just want to chat. Tomorrow night is the big Patriot's game & I'll be cooking crispy pork wontons & asiago cheese dip with crostini for that! Then the next day is my birthday & then the next day is New Years Eve so I think you can see where this is heading.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I have an out of town guest arriving tomorrow and staying for 7 days! I tried to get her to not come right now -- we do NOT have a bed for her! LOL! I tried to get her to wait until after the move........ so, I won't be able to Dis very much. And I was actually going to have LOTS of free time this week!

But, I wanted to show some pics from this afternoon -- we went to a Playhouse Disney Live show.

Clear transfer medium would definitely make the black and red look better. However, if that isn't an option, I really like the detail you get with these samples and would rather stick with them

We were in row Q. I have a Canon Rebel and I used my 18 -200 macro lense. Of course no flash, on *action* auto -- although I do use an external flash, not the little *pop up* that comes on the camera.

I really need to learn to use my camera better! LOL! I know it can do fantastic pics -- I've seen the pics others have taken with the same camera! LOL!
