Roger...

... we needed EVERY hand on Deck fer this one. And I'll not assign blame on anyone fer dis debacle. As a mater of fact, I was caught unawares with the SPEED of the postings. I was still drafting my ambush posting when I noticed the prize had just passed! So... all I can say is I too hang my head in INNOCENT shame. And the NEXT time I, for one, will be better prepared.

By the way ... if you look carefully, that would be ME in the life boat in the upper image up top.

Come on Crash. :sad2: I took on 6 wenches all by myself for the last pirate: and prevailed.

Diane, my 9ds goes by Elvis. He has been an Elvis fanatic since he was about 4 or so .....he hates it when kids only know who Elvis is from Lilo and Stitch.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

A couple of years ago he asked if he could dye his hair black....hhhmmm... *NO. You are a little blond boy.* :rotfl2:

He wants to be an Elvis impersonator. Last year we took him to Graceland. :lmao: And we stayed at the Heartbreak Hotel. ;) He was very happy!

Looks like a pretty good reef for snorkeling there, too.

Now that the pirate run is over, we can discuss excursions. :thumbsup2

Ok lets talk Aruba. There was some talk back about 500 pages regarding the Jolly Pirate Sail/Snorkel trip. This is absent from the DCL list, so I emailed them. The date we are there is open at this time. They have 2 boats in operation with an early 9:30-2pm trip and a shorter one in the afternoon 3pm-6pm. Each trip stops at 3 snorkel sites (Malmok, Boca Catalina and the Antilla). The early cruise is $53/pp and the afternoon one is $33/pp. The morning one includes a BBQ lunch and both include Open Bar, gear and rope swing. Mark (Disneypilot) had mentioned that he did this excursion and really enjoyed it. Anybody interested in this?

We have word of 3 or 4 more winter storms coming in,starting tomorrow.

Oh, no! I'm just glad that for now your storms are staying North of the Red River!!!! I'm an hr from Exit 1 in Oklahoma --- the casino! LOL! :rotfl2:

Hi Roger,

This sounds like something we would be interested in. We love snorkling (at least DH and I do and DS8 puts up with it) and Aruba has some great areas. It has been about 15 years since I was last there, but I remember good snorkling! A Pirate ship with a bunch of DIS pirates sounds like a blast!

uugghh! I just realized we're NOT done Xmas shopping. We didn't get anything for DS8 to give the kids next door. They exchange gifts every year and I totally forgot about them. This means I need to get 3 kid gifts and a Secret Mickey gift. Tomorrow the whole day is shot - my parents and I are taking DS8 to the Museum of Science & Industry downtown (Chicago) to see the Star Wars Science exhibit. I guess I will be doing last minute shopping on Sunday :sad2:

Great pictures, looked an enchanted evening for the ladies!

WOW, so beautiful :thumbsup2
They look so professional.

Thanks, guys . . . (and to Roger who I thought I had multiquoted, but it didn't show up here!).

Andrew, if I don't get another chance, Happy Christmas to you and yours . . . you will be finished opening presents by the time we get up!:woohoo: :santa: :santa: :santa: :woohoo:

Laurie, hopefully they were professional, since this was a concert that lots of people who don't even know any of the performers paid good money ($60 a ticket, believe it or not) to attend! It's funny that I even had pictures to post -- there were notices prominently posted everywhere about no photography, including in the program, so I was so nervous every time I would sneak my camera out to take a quick picture with no flash! If I don't speak to you again, have a wonderful Christmas. I know you have so much to be thankful for this year.

I've heard it's brilliant. Not sure when I'm going to get to see it though. Can't take DS and don't have anyone to watch him right now.

I didn't think about that, Monica . . . it must be so hard for you right now without anyone to help you out with Trevoy . . .I wish I could help! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

You'll see it one day and then I want to hear your opinion.:thumbsup2

Believe it or not, I have already booked us online for the 9:30 trip! I like to get things done as soon as possible, and they were taking the reservations online already when I checked a few weeks ago so I booked it. If you end up doing a group, let me know and I will PM you with my name and reservation # so that you can tell them to put us on the same ship with others from this thread . . .

Thank you my Secret Mickey (Terri).

I am thinking that we will book soon as well. There is no group rate but 15% for booking online. I think it is a great idea for those of us that book can be grouped together. As long as we have our reservation grouping us should be no big deal at a later date.

We are interested. (2A/2K) I looked on Google Earth and its about 5 miles from port to where this launches (following roads).

Everyone has been sharing Christmas pictures . . . so here are some from a concert given last night in the medieval hall of the Metropolitan Museum . . . my two youngest were singing in it and my middle one also played violin. It was lovely in there . . .

In this one my littlest is right in the middle -- the little one next to the blonde (her sister).

This is the middle one, who is a violinist.

The tree there is the beautiful medieval tree with Neopolitan ornaments and an antique creche . . .

Julie, that looks like it was a wonderful performance. :goodvibes

I'm interested.

I was considering renting a Harley and touring the island. But not sure if I want to do that on my own or not.

Looks like it is about $10/each way cab fare from ship to Holiday Inn.

Exactly -- I think the 4 of us were about $185 total, so you do get the 15%. When we get a month or so out we can gather names and contact them so that we get together on the same ship. There may be an alternate group that wants to do the later one, too.

The nice thing about how long we have in Aruba is that we can do something like this Jolly Pirates and still have lots of time to just hang on the beach, or rent a Harley (you go, girl!), or I was also looking at horseback riding there.
