It's a Small World is almost as bad as this song. Angelina was watching Full House yesterday afternoon, last night when I went to bed, this song kept repeating itself in my mind, over and over and over again.........

Yep you sound as innocent as Crash!

Sooo Diane,

...it sounds like you ARE in agreement .... that I am INNOCENT in some way?

This morning, while missing the pirate: run (!), I saw the movie of "Sweeney Todd" . . . I had to consciously avoid comparisons to the brilliant B'way production put on recently, but on its own terms it is an amazing movie -- certainly it is not going to be to everyone's taste, but Tim Burton has an unparalleled artistic vision and this movie might show it off to the ultimate level. It's going to be too bloody for some, too much of a musical for others, and certainly Johnny shows he has no ego as a "leading man" to take on this role, but what an actor he is.

Monica, I will be interested in your thoughts when you see it . . . Cheryl, you too!

We are all dying to see this one!. We are huge fans of Johnny Depp, Tiim Burton and the original Sweeney Todd material so we're excited to see what they've done with it.

DS12 would like to see it but I am concerned about the blood. He is familiar with the story but I'm wondering about the gore factor. I'd love to get your opinion as to whether it is appropriate for a mature 12yo or not.

Whadda ya mean darn? Ya got it! Good job! Yeah for the wenches!!!! pirate:

Way to go Laurie!!

Score one for the WENCHES!!!

Congrats Laurie.

Looks like I just missed the sprint!

Wow, I should have quoted your "darn"

Congrats on the PRIZE Laurie!

Congrats - Give Nothing Back!

See .... I am really, really bad at pirate: runs. I got a phone call and had to do some work - when I get back it is all over. Definitely parr for the course!

Pamela (pdarrah)

Thanks all !!!
I had to run I had a Red Door Appointment that I was late for.
Told DH to let you all know, but of course he had to be "funny".
I was so sure I missed it (my first try was too early) that I wrote "darn" first.

You swabbie lawyers always trying to pirate the pirate:

Everyone has been sharing Christmas pictures . . . so here are some from a concert given last night in the medieval hall of the Metropolitan Museum . . . my two youngest were singing in it and my middle one also played violin. It was lovely in there . . .

In this one my littlest is right in the middle -- the little one next to the blonde (her sister).

This is the middle one, who is a violinist.

The tree there is the beautiful medieval tree with Neopolitan ornaments and an antique creche . . .

Angelina and her friend Trish are at the movies watching this right now. They got out of school at 11:51 this morning and were first in line for the 1:15pm show.

The previews of the movie, looked a little to  for me.

I took the 15 and 13 year olds, but not the 10 year old, and I think that was appropriate (even though the 10 year old saw the stage production when she was 9!). It is MUCH more bloody than the stylized deaths shown on a stage. I'm not a big fan of the gore, but understood why he had to do it -- I was talking to my daughters afterwards and saying that on B'way you enter into a suspension of disbelief because you know certain things cannot be done on stage, but it would just be weird to do the same on film, when you can do so much more.

I suppose I would say that if the 12 year old is familiar with the material and understands that, and if you think he is able to see some pretty horrific deaths and know they aren't real, it would be fine -- but I think he is on the edge of what I would even potentially recommend. That is why the film is rated R --- there are no language or sexual situations that are giving it the rating, just the blood and violence.

No Tom, I think that being indicted with a lawyer is a step down on the innocent meter. :rotfl2:

Are you SURE it's an "INNOCENT" meter you're talkin' about here?

It sounds (and smells) more like something ... else...

fart-o-meter.img_assist_custom.jpg

< chuckles... >

By the way.... I've heard there have been cases of IDENTITY Theft on the DIS as of lately... so ya better watch out out there.... <wink>

Wait, was there an imposter for the pirate: ????

Hold the presses, we need to invalidate this for Mrs. Scooby, who got the 001 post. That's our new pirate: winner!!!

I had a 1:30 appointment at Red Door. They don't take "I had a pirate run" as a suitable excuse for being late:confused3

It was me !!!

snickering%20mutley%20animation.gif

I am innocent of this sensational statement....

... I was merely following someone elses' suggestion - and I might have "innocently" encouraged it among others. Nothing more... hence I must declare I remain perpetually ...

INNOCENT

Lordy, I step out for an hour or so(took Hazel out to lunch--a wenches trick, I'm sure) and come back to find 10+ pages of mostly FLUFF..............:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Congrats Laurie on your capture of the...................pirate:

Congrats Laurie. I went to stuff my face and play in our "golf inning" and when I got back it was all over. I thought I might be able to finally be in a pirate: run. Oh well, maybe next time.

Congrats Lauie! :cool1:

Man I leave and you swabbies give the pirate away to a wench. Last time I am leaving during a run. :confused3

   Hey Laurie! Congratulations!!!!

Back during the pirate run (before the phone called me away!) I was about to post a couple photos. They are sitting here pushing me to post them anyway.

These are both from a couple years ago, but I tend to decorate pretty similar from year to year...

THe first is my blue & white tree (I have 2 trees - the other is not color themed). The second is a closeup of the cat under the blue tree. This is Vincent and he is the one who was just sick and is recovering.

I so want to see this - but I'm going to have to wait until after Christmas - There's too much to do in the meantime.

Work has been cutting heavily into my DIS time, so I'm spotty right now (she says dreading the image Crash will find to go with that thought).

Hope you are all doing well.
