Thank you everyone for saying the dates!

Wow! Were on the wrong dates!

Chrissie

Whoo hoo!

We booked our return flight and it only cost us 27.00 each!

We had credit and parents gave us Jet Blue gift cards for Christmas!

Yeah!!!

Chrissie

#1) What are your 3 favorite MUSIC BANDS, INDIVIDUAL or GROUPS?

I dither depending on my mood but ones that keep coming to the top of my play list are Scissor Sisters, Mika and Sugababes

#2) If you have an MP3 player - what type do you have? iPod Classic 80GB

#3) What did you have for breakfast today? Toast with pumpkin hummous and dhal - I hate breakfast foods so have something most consider unusual when I get a chance.

#4) Have you finished your Christmas Shopping? I'm a little late answering this one but I had it all done in October and just had to get my work Secret Santa gift in December.

#5) DO you think you're gonna get what you REALLY WANT for Christmas? I didn't expect anything and got two lovely boxes of chocolates from clients, some gift vouchers from work and my secret santa gift.

#6) What is the LAST thing you'd like ta get fer Christmas? More junk to clutter the home - I have enough stuff already!

#7) If you could create a special "DREAM" shore excursion on our TOAL... what would it be and or involve? I've drawn a blank on this, I've not even checked out the real shore excursions. It wouldn't involve the beach though - I detest sand. I like Castaway Cay but that is about my only exception.

BONUS QUESTION #8 - have you been NAUGHTY or NICE this year? I'd say nice but I am about to be naughty and buy me an expensive something :rotfl2:

Just how formal are the formal nights??

Some people go all out with the tux and ball gown/evening wear but we don't.

We just wear nice pants and nice shirts/tops - like I'd wear to work or to perhaps a nice dinner out. I detest dressing up and certainly am not dragging fancy clothes half way around the world for a 4 weeks trip for just a couple of hours wear and will most likely never be something I'd ever wear again. <please don't flame me :rotfl: >

My Mum is already getting anxious about the formal/semi-formal and saying she won't eat in the main dining rooms those nights. It's not like she is going to be wearing totally inappropriate clothes in the first place for the other evenings.

Just wear what you feel comfortable in. Its your holiday and if anyone has problems with it, point them at deck 4 and indicate which way they should jump... :rotfl2:

You guys look great.

I was thinking about wearing this one night.

0901200691

I wore it to a wedding a few years ago and it's been sitting in the closet ever since.
I have no idea what to do about the ballroom night.:confused3

That dress would be perfect! What ballroom night? There isn't a ballroom on the ship that I know of.

There is tropical night and pirate night but nothing else more formal than formal night... Remember its a family cruise with people and children of all ages and backgrounds :)

Don't stress about it.

I would say though to have a shawl or wrap, I've frozen in the dining rooms before with short sleeves.

Hey guys I am new here. I posted earlier when I got the ressies. I have been looking for airfare too..wow stuff is high. I need to go from Newark (EWR) to LA and from MCO to EWR. I noticed Jetblue today, the other day they weren't that far out..but they are too high for going home. I am gonna keep looking. I think for the CA leg, we are gonna have to fly outta JFK (really don't want too) go get the cheaper rates.

Any and all advice taken!

I can't be any help at all but I wanted to say WELCOME ABOARD :)

now I just need a tiara...

I got a Pirate princess tiara at WDW for the Princess and Pirate party. Our friend got one two. It's a little tiara with a skull and cross bones in black stones. fun! Want me to try and get the other from our friend?

Plus, in my vision, complimentary cocktails.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Well, it is the Year of a Million Dreams... :rotfl: :rotfl:

The only way I know how to do it is to choose the Share option, then email myself the link. You can either choose Share from your homepage and share a whole album. Or if you just want to do one picture, you open your album, click on the picture, then select Share and it will ask if you want to share the whole album or just the picture.

Thanks! DH had to run home for an AF function this morning so I called him to bring back the passwords. So, I should be able to get them to the website and do the regular thing.

Going to go work on it now!

"I just showed the list of theme nights and told her I was interested in the Ballroom Under the Stars and she said they did that on her DVC member cruise in October and it wasn't outside like I'd been assuming. She said it was in the atrium and was very cheesy. :sad2: Let's hope ours is different!"

This is a quote from someone from the Westbound Repo. I didn't want to use her name, since I didn't ask permission, but I hope this is not the case for us because Tom made it sound sooooo wonderful with free cocktails and everything! :lmao:

Yes, Crew, we have SAMPLES!!!

I stopped by our printer yesterday to play with the new equipment he purchased. It's awesome. Naturally, I forgot the camera :headache: so you'll just have to read my description.

The shirts are made with a transfer material. It's like a light vinyl - but doesn't add much stiffness to the shirt. They ran a test shirt when they first got the machines - it's been washed about 10 times now (transfer on the outside), with no fading or damage. So, it seems to be sturdy stuff.

Here's a picture of the white t-shirt, just fabric, not transfer - so you can see how it drapes.

handfabric.jpg

Here's my hand in the same position holding the shirt where the transfer is. You can see how flexible it is.

handxfer.jpg

The image is printed onto the transfer material at up to 500 dpi - that's photo quality - the machine that prints it, also cuts the material. The excess transfer material is peeled from the backing (by hand). The transfer is then moved to somthing like a giant piece of tape using a squegee, and peeling off the backing. The tape is placed on the shirt and put into a hot press. Then the tape is removed, and the transfer is on the shirt.

Here's a close up of the back. Notice the detail you can see in the beads.

backdetail.jpg

Here's are a couple close ups of the front. Again, notice the level of detail.

fntdetail1.jpg

fntdetail2.jpg

You can see some cracking in these detail shots - this is where the material wrinkled when we were transferring it to the tape. We think it's because it was reused too many times - though tech support says it can be used multiple times. In any case, we were playing with new materials and figuring out how to do it as we went. Walt didn't want to send these shirts as samples. He didn't feel they were high enough quality. But Mom and I were charmed by the cracks and felt they added a bit of Piratey character to the transfer. In any case, be comfortable that your shirt won't have them (unless you specifically say it's OK.)

We ran three samples shirts and a totebag. An adult XL in white. A child 12-14 in black. And an adult XL red tank top (just to see how red worked). We also played with the size of the transfers a bit - so you can see the size variation. Since there are no screens to cut it's easy. Anyway, here they are:

Black Kids shirt

This is DS6 - so the 12-14 size shirt is WAY too big.

White Adult shirt

I usually wear an XL and I'm swimming in this.

Red Adult Tank - I think red actually works pretty well. I don't think many of the ladies will be happy with this tank as it's cut pretty low under the arm. We'll look into an alternate source for the ladies.

And a tote bag

Because there are no set ups - we can have an extended ordering window. I can send him shirts in bunches of 20 or so to work on as they come in. At this point - I'm thinking the ordering window will be the 1st of May through June 10. That way I can have the shirts in my hands by July 1 and have them mailed out by July 4. I want all this done by then as we'll be leaving for sabbatical about then and it needs to be finished.

I'm also thinking based on what everyone said - we'll charge at the 200 print level. I'm pretty comfortable that we'll have at least 200 pieces, but not certain we'll make 300. If we make 300 or 400 - I'll use the extra funds to host a party on board. (DH thinks it'll be too complicated to refund the extra $$.)

If I can get committment for 300 pieces by the time the ordering window opens - then I'll charge at that level.

OK, I think that's it!! Let me know if you have any questions. If someone can tell me where the next meet is - I'll ship the samples out for all to see.

It appears the servers will be down tomorrow night at 9pm for 6 to 8 hours. Can we do chat on the pirates website? :confused3

Seems to be the best deal right now. I checked on kayak.com and the best was $215 per person but flying into Ontario, not Long Beach. (I used the option to search for surrounding airports). Best to Long Beach was $316.

I don't usually book this early but I usually end up paying less than $200 each way, SF to Orlando. Not exactly comparable, but still somewhat coast to coast. Jet Blue has a flight for us for $239, but I'm going to hold out a little longer.

Wish we had Jet Blue down here!

Cheryl!!!!!
I didn't forget. Here is your picture

Only in Florida would they charge the 50 cents!!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Maybe I'm reading this different, but on the WB its:
I'm envisioning a deck party with formal attire (plus dinner too)?

Plus, in my vision, complimentary cocktails.

I hope your vision is right!!! Maybe we are looking through rose colored glasses!!:lmao: ;)

Just found this on the Budget Board. The new servers are going in tomorrow night. I think this might mean no DIS chat. Tom - are we able to use chat on our Pirate website?

YES

Found a tour company in Puerto Vallarta that allows 7 yr. olds!

What do ya'll think?

I think the one Roger was pointing to did also, I think its DCL's restriction on age, not the vendors
