As promised, two photos of the girls on Christmas day. Hopefully you will not need to turn yourselves through 90 degrees to look at the their "pirate fashion parade" as I've been having trouble uploading it as a portrait rather than landscape photo.

Well...you definitely fixed the portrait/landscape problem...but...ummm...I think there's another problem.

They sure do look cute though!

Thanks.

I'm pretty impressed with the volunteers. Each year things look so different for Christmas and Easter. And each year they seem to be better than the last. Never know how that happens, but they always manage to top themselves while still keeping everything elegant and tasteful.

They did a great job on the decorations. It was very pretty.:goodvibes

It is quiet at the office today (what a surprise! ;) ) so I have uploaded a few holiday photos. There is one of my "main" tree. We have this one in our living room and the "blue" tree in what will be our family room if it ever gets finished (right now it holds toys - DS8's traditional toys and DH's tools!)

There is also a photo of our fireplace. This is where my Saint Nicholas collection is displayed during the holidays. It has DH's glass the rest of the year....

I also included a shot of DS checking out what Santa brought and another of him modeling the crazy earmuffs and mittens sent to him by my Aunt who lives in Florida - I wonder where she found earmuffs in Florida?

Pamela, those earmuffs are crazy! They probably are warm though. Your decorations are very pretty.:goodvibes

Had to tell you that I love your mantle!

Thanks! I just registered for the site. Looks great!

My wife (Kathleen) and I (Ed) will be aboard. I managed to get a reservation about 2 weeks before Christmas - Santa came early!

Congrats & welcome aboard!

Hi Everyone, just wanted to slip in and say hello. I have not been on here much at all. First because of the holidays but just as Christmas break started, my father in law got sick and was admitted into the hospital again. DH is the youngest of three (also lives the closest) so he usually ends up having to spend the nights in the hospital to watch over dad. Dad gets very confused as to where he is and tries to get out of bed. He has parkinsons and his body is fairly rigid at times so if he tried to get out of bed and no one was there he may fall. Its so hard to watch our parents age.

I finally made it onto the DCL site and explored some of the excursions. We are getting so excited. My DD8 (she will be 9 at cruise time) is a little bummed though, she really wanted to check out one of the horseback riding ones but all of them are ages 10 and up (maybe its 12 and up). She rides horses every week and is very comfortable on and around horses so she would be fine (probably better than most adults). I may have to make some calls at some point.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. My plan is to take the next couple of days and relax (in between hospital runs) and hopefully I will make it to chat on Friday - I actually made it a couple weeks ago and it was fun!
If by chance I don't make it back to the computer, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Sue

 Merry Christmas All!!!

Our DD surprised us and slept in until after 6am this morning. We opened our gifts, now DD is curled up in her new down comforter, fast asleep once again....... Momma, is back in bed curled up in her new comforter, and me, I'm sitting here listening to my new Josh Groban CD "Noel" that our DD bought for me, life is good..............:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I got the same CD! My kids are already sick of hearing it! :goodvibes

We went out to dinner Christmas Eve with DH's family & exchanged gifts at the restaurant. After cooking all day, I barely made it to the restaurant in time, but it was a fun & relaxing evening.

Yesterday my DS woke up at 7:30 but he had a bit of a belly ache so he just laid down in my bed for a while. Then DD woke up a little after 8:30 & he was feeling much better by then & eager to see what Santa brought. Of course they still had to wait till DH got the video camera ready before they could head downstairs & see. They are so tortured!

I got the CD as I mentioned, Tink & Mickey night shirts, and lime green Dopey mug & Mickey mug that says All night cafe. So cute! :cutie:

I spent days making my homemade tomato sauce, meatballs & lasagna & candy that I brought over my brother's house for Christmas day. My brother's fiance' made the chicken parmagiana. Don't know why, but an Italian feast has always been our traditional Christmas dinner. :confused3 We had a good old fashioned Yankee swap & one of the gifts was a lazer tag game that really shocks you when you get hit. All the men (or should I say boys) were having a ball running through the house shooting each other. NOT my idea of fun! :sad2: After dinner & dessert, we played our traditional game of trivial pursuit before calling it a night.

Now I finally get to DIS again!!! I was having major withdrawals! Hope everyone is doing great! pirate:

I have enjoyed seeing everyone's pictures -- this is such a special time of the year.

We had a wonderful Christmas, and are getting ready to head to SoCal on Friday. We will be taking a laptop, so I'm sure I will be checking in on occasion!

Jolly Pirate Sail/Snorkel in Aruba

We just booked yesterday as well for the 9:30 trip. :cool1:

Just went back and skimmed through 100+ pages. I know I missed some people. Not sure how many spaces that they have on this excursion but if you are thinking about it I would not wait too long. There are other groups of cruisers :rolleyes1 and space will fill up. I know 8 months out and we are pushing signing up for excursions, but remember that all of us signed up for this cruise back on 1/31. ;) As time gets closer we will put together a list of all who signed up and see if we arrange to all be on the same boat.

Wow, Roger, I hadn't realized it was so many of us! How many can they get on one ship? As fun as it looked online, it will be even more fun when we all know each other onboard . . . let's fill up the ship!

Our group of three would like to go to...

But i have to say they don't list any kind of cancellation policy...

So i'm kinda leery to plunk down $150 this far out...

BUT I REALLY REALLY WANT TO GO... (DH don't swim or snorkle. Is there beach time on the trip?)

I agree. I'd really like to know the cancellation policy. At this point I'm not entirely sure who will be sailing with me. I can't book anything yet unless I know I can cancel.

I had wondered about this too . . . I'm not sure about a cancellation policy per se, but for those who might worry about what would happen if the ship missed Aruba, this was asked on another board, and the Jolly Pirates people answered as follows:

Hi ya,
In the unlikely event of either, we wld certainly reverse your cc charges. In fact, I would tend to blv that every co would do the same. no?
In ten years this has happened once
( where a c.ship changed sched due to an emergency) and all guests were refunded before asking.
Hope this helps.

#1) What are your 3 favorite MUSIC BANDS, INDIVIDUAL or GROUPS?

#2) If you have an MP3 player - what type do you have?

#3) What did you have for breakfast today?

#4) Have you finished your Christmas Shopping?

#5) DO you think you're gonna get what you REALLY WANT for Christmas?

#6) What is the LAST thing you'd like ta get fer Christmas?

#7) If you could create a special "DREAM" shore excursion on our TOAL... what would it be and or involve?

BONUS QUESTION #8 - have you been NAUGHTY or NICE this year?

#1) I really like a great many artists - however, if I had to settle on 3 temporary favorites which have had lots of play time on my MP3 players - I would have to say a) Crosby Stills & Nash, b) George Benson, c) Boston

#2) I have 2 which see significant use: A Creative Zen V and a Sensa c240. Yeah... I know, they're cheapie players - but my logic sez I'm likely to LOSE one sooner or later. And either of these I could lose and not shed a tear over it!

#3) Today for breakfast I had milk and cereal (corn pops)

#4) Well... by now I most certainly have.

#5) Well... by now I know I did not. However, I really was not emotionally attached to a gift that would have surprised me.

#6) It would have been socks or underwear. Thankfully, my spouse understood how much I detested those "gifts" and none were given this year.

#7) This might seem silly... but I would not mind having a chartered 70' yacht follow the Magic through the Panama Canal. Which of course, includes having the ability to stop where and when I want. SO ... does this qualify as a shore excursion?

i_mac70_2.jpg

#8 bonus question... I would have to say I've been mostly NICE this year with a possibility of having a NAUGHTY moment or two somewhere during the past year.
