How funny.....me too! Back in the day we saw bands like New Order, PIL, Sugarcubes, Depeche Mode, and dh even drug me along to a Skinny Puppy concert once.

Sadly, my last concert was the High School Musical Concert with my kids.
I actually enjoyed it (shhhhhh!)

I never got to go to concerts when I was a teenager - it just never worked out for me. I went to my first concert about 4 years ago - took DH to see Toby Keith, then in 2005 I got to see U2 at Madison Square Garden - that was the concert of a lifetime for me and will see them the next time they tour. We saw Toby again last week and now I'm waiting to hear when Genesis will be touring north america.

Wow, so much to catch up on, but I must read every one!

Andrew: My prayers to you and your daughter.

Lisa: TY for organizing the list. It is so kind of you to take the time to get everyone together.

I can't remember who posted about her tall daughter, but my 13yo son is currently 6'3", so maybe they can meet up on the ship (if he gets over being shy around girls by then!).

I'm glad to hear that there will be some people in the late dinner seating. It sounds like fun to sit in an area with people from the boards.

OK I am a Southern CA native, born and raised. I drive the freeways here regularly, but I am fairly certain none of you would want me driving unless your life insurance was paid up and you have excellent medical coverage! Although being the adventurous pirates you are, you might enjoy the way I navigate L.A. traffic. It is not for the faint of heart me mateys!:drive:

Now DH is another story, he is a very good driver. I could be his navigator and be oh so helpful in providing the step by step instructions that he loves so much. Please ignore any fighting that follows my attempts at being helpful.

If I can survive NYC cab drivers in rush hour traffic - I can survive anything!

CA native here too...spent my jr-high school years in SoCal, went to school in The OC. When we were visiting the 'rents over Christmas, DW almost had a heart attack on the 105-405-110-91 combo! :rotfl: Whenever I get behind the wheel of a CA-plated vehicle....it all comes back to me! :thumbsup2

Insofar as taxis...you wanna get religion real fast? Take a taxi in St. Lucia over the mountain pass to the resorts! :crazy2: After we "landed" at the hotel, I kissed the ground!

Hello All! :wave2: Let me introduce myself. I'm Debi,:moped: DH is Kevin. :coffee:We're both 49. Happy to say that we will be among you on this cruise. Can hardly wait to meet you.

I think you just named late dining----"the Board Room"
We early diners will just call it the "Bored Room":lmao: :lmao:

Really looking forward to this cruise but I can tell that I will not be able to stay up with all the post. I have Sept 8/07 and Sept 15/07 that I have to keep up with as well. I will do my best. It is Myself and my partner of 21 years at the time of the cruise who are traveling. Our Grand children are not happy that they are no going but my daughter will not let me take them out of school any more. So it will just be us adults. We are on Deck two in an ocean view room. Thank you to who ever is doing the web page. I sure can't. I am lucky to have learned how to post. Lois

"Are you gonna take the BMW, no I think I'll take da huffy"

Oh Lorri-- I'd LOVE to see U2! Bet that was great!

Look what I added! I didn't want to have to walk the plank!

Lisa....is my sig still okay??
YYYAAAYYYYY!!!

Saw U2 in Cleveland in 1987 because by then my dad was a fan. I found U2 early on ('82-'83) & I begged my parents to let me go to their concert '84, but they said I was too young and they had never heard of the band (most people hadn't). I have a framed U2 poster hanging in my den that I have had for 22 years! Alas, not many concert going opportunities in Anchorage.

Then there was the week I saw Jimmy Buffet 3 times. The Cincinnati/Columbus/Cleveland Margarita Haze of '93. Ahhh memories . . . or not!

Now, you can clearly see that Debi rides scooters, not bicycles. And her husband, Kevin, drinks coffee.

oh man - that is how I felt after taking one of those open air vans from the port in St Thomas to Magens Bay!!!! Probably doesn't compare to your experience, but it was enough for me.....as bad as a roller coaster ride - and I don't do coasters!!!!

The Joshua Tree tour! My then fiance (whom I DIDNOT marry) got me but good on that one - I had an opportunity for tickets from a friend at school but turned her down because he told me that we had tickets - I found out later "we" didn't include "me" but him and his friends. It only took me another 8 years but I saw them!

I might just have to plan to do this with DS this time...since it will be the last book & all. :) If he can stay up that late. He has his HP costume & all. Then DD will want to go to but she would fall asleep waiting.

We met my friend Marge and her daughter. DD fell asleep and I woke her up at 11 PM. I really didn't think there would be that many people there, but we were about 30th in line. They played HP trivia games and dd won 2 pairs of HP glasses. They gave away bookmarks and stickers. The price was the draw they were selling them for $15 I think.

We will probably do it again. July 20th is my birthday, so Marge said we could do a Harry Potter party while we wait. I told her don't for get the cake!

Gee, I hadn't realized you already met my husband and me! (Hee, hee!)(OK, I just made it obvious that I don't know how to work the smilies!)
