We need to evaluate the effect the "long threads" are having on board performance. In order to do that we will be "hiding" the long threads for 24 hours. They will come back so no need to panic
I will be shutting the boards down around 11pm to move the threads around and make some other changes.
If you are a participant in one of these threads please feel free to start another thread tomorrow.
A long thread will be over 10,000 posts for the purpose of this experiment

Through a misunderstanding with our head server last cruise, we ended up with FOUR lobster tails apiece!!! And let me assure you that they didn't go to waste. Although we wondered why the chairs in the Walt Disney Theatre shrunk after that dinner.
Great news! We'll continue to keep him in our thoughts that all continues to go well.

I have a feeling the server got your order correct. I didn't know I could order 4. I hope lobster night is towards the end of the cruise.

Mr. Williams will be on this cruise. He told me several times when we spoke on the Dec 8 cruise thsi past December. He is such a nice man!! I didn't win any of his raffled art, but he did draw two pictures for my children. I can't wait to meet him again!!

I have cruised with Ducky 17 days and he is the nicest person. I did win a drawing of Stitch but would trade for a Mickey in a heartbeat!! He did sign some orginal artwork I bought at Disneyana Convention!!

Hmmm.... if the test ends up showing that long threads are the problem and they decide to limit threads to 10,000 posts - will that make the "new" big pirate the FINAL post of a thread and we'll have to have Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and so on for this thread? If this was done to this thread, we would currently be on Part 9!!!

A little announcement

Following our last holiday in WDW I suggested to Helen that she should invite her parents to come to USA and WDW to find out what it was like. ...[edited]...

It has taken several days before I was comfortable with "announcing" this but I have now cancelled our place on this cruise and instead will now be going on the 5 day cruise on the 1st September instead. ..[ed]...

Helen and I are very disappointed that we won't be cruising with you, especially with some people we know as friends. The most upset is probably Alex who was looking forward to spending time with so many friends he has come to know and keep in regular contact with. ... [ed]...

In closing, the night before the cruise I have booked us all into the Radisson at Port Canaveral with the intention of getting up early to hopefully meet some of you getting off the Magic and leaving the port. This is a small price to pay in order for us to see so many of you we were looking forward to meeting again. This has been the only way I have been able to console Alex.

After the 5 Day, we will be returning to WDW to stay for another week so if any of you are free and available on Saturday 6th September onwards, PLEASE, PLEASE, let me know.

... I can only convey admiration for your generous offer to your inlaws, as well as the small sacrifice you've conceeded to accomidate and enable harmony in your family. Frankly, we're doing something similar with our in-laws and the larger gathering... so I understand fuilly what you are doing. And as yet - although you're trading something intangible here - you're obviously gaining something without measure with your in-laws. They must think the WORLD of you for taking them over the Atlantic for the 1st time - and onto a Disney cruise to boot.

I can only say your family will be missed. I'm sure my setiments are being echoed all around our little crew here. This is no disaster - rather it is a graceful recovery in favor of keeping your family in harmony!
