Yeah, I know.
That was my sentiments exactly- when I read about this online recently.
Terribly bummed. This is probably going to be our only trip to Disneyland and IASW is one of the rides we really wanted to go on. Someone please tell me that it's no different than the one at WDW so I can stop being bummed about this news.

(nevermind. I did a quick check on the website and see I missed out on the pre-cruise exchange. I've been reading the emails sent out and have been to the website a few times- I just didn't happen to check THAT page to notice the exchange!)

Sorry I haven't been around much. Just been really really super mega busy with all the kids stuff, family stuff, etc.
I'll try to hang around more often- or atleast not stay away so long next time.

... my spouse chuckles to no end that a Californian like me would pack so little for Boston in Winter. I DID not intend on going out much with 3 kids in an unfamiliar town. But I think I barely have enuf to get by. On the other hand my spouse - who grew up in outside of Pittsburg in a ONE SIGNAL LITE town ... (where my dear MIL once told a farmer her daughters' boyfriend was a "city slicker" within earshot of me).... well .... my spouse packed winter hats with fluffy ear flaps for the kids, winter gloves, plus all kinds of appropriate cold weather gear. Me... I packed shorts and hawaiian shirts - and a few socks and underwear. Ok... NOT! But I did under pack - and probably fall short of having enuf to layer up with if we should spend any length of time outside at other then high noon!

Crash what were you thinking? I hear that area is getting snow the next couple of days. Did you bring your surf board? You could go snow boarding!

So Alicia is from near Pittsburgh. My half sister is in Ellwood City, about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh. I pretty much now every small burg along I-90.


Last night at the school board meeting one of the elementary schools was talking about their program called "Fill a Bucket." It's a way to give complements and be nice to others. Last night there were great examples of caring for others and great accomplishments of the students in the district. It made me think how we on this thread "Fill each others buckets." We joke around and have fun, but we are all supportative of one another. I've been thankful for this thread and all you guys. It had helped me get through a couple of rough spots. You guys are the best and I can't wait to meet everyone!

Since I don't have a spouse, my dd thinks I'm nuts when I bust out laughing while reading this thread. She often asks me why am I talking to people I don't know? (But I do feel like I know you)

To all of my DIS friends out there that just can't wait for Thanksgiving, I thought I would give you a little preview.

See Cherie is working on Thanksgiving and the day after. I am working tomorrow. So today is Thanksgiving at our house. My parents are coming over for our small gathering (6).

So the table is set and the turkey has been flashed and is now roasting until its ready. Wish you all had that Smell-o-vision. Thanksgiving is not about what day its on or where its held. Its about being with family.

Anyone else notice the cordless DRILL BLENDER he has at the lower edge of his Thanksgiving table? I always knew Roger was a wild NUTMEG pirate... but this is a bit MORE WILD then I would have expected!

Hmmmmm........

Mike Conchilla and Philip Gaydos were several years junior to Alicia. So there is a remote possibliity Alicia might have a photo of one of them in her year Norwin High year books. And... Yanno... if any of them had a family member do any surgerical chest work locally (especially anything really challenging) then there's a decent chance it would have been done by my FIL. Did any of them happen to live near the Pizza Hut? Alicia grew up pretty close to that.​

.... why of COURSE we know one another better than some might otherwise guess. Consider, the new baby Braedon here is gonna have a bunch of folks on the cruise who can claim to have seen him when he was just a few months old (above) - and I do mean his picture at 6 months is extraordinary for he is unusually young.... as these pictures of him above were taken 6+ months before he was born!

And Tina, ... I feel a comfortable casual familiarity with several DIS neighbors here already. It's still several months off before we set sail - but with 80,000 postings shared here it's difficlut NOT to gain a little insight on one another! Consider - even though my spouse has posted under a half dozen entries ... some of you know things about her that no one else knows whos' worked with her for years!

And, might I add... I have also had my children come over to ask "Daddy, what are you laughing at?" while I'm surfing here. Such is life... I've gained a few chuckles from others here - and I am compelled in turn to let loose with a few postings which might ellicit chuckles from others in turn! I say... one good turn deserves another... just as One hand shakes the other, eh? ​
