To all of my DIS friends out there that just can't wait for Thanksgiving, I thought I would give you a little preview.
PB200003.jpg

See Cherie is working on Thanksgiving and the day after. I am working tomorrow. So today is Thanksgiving at our house. My parents are coming over for our small gathering (6).
PB200009.jpg

So the table is set and the turkey has been flashed and is now roasting until its ready. Wish you all had that Smell-o-vision. Thanksgiving is not about what day its on or where its held. Its about being with family.

Will post desert pictures later....:rotfl2:

Mmmmmm looks delish - enjoy!

Tom: Please believe me when I say I am Thankful & feel blessed. I try not to show on the outside and hope you and everyone else didn't take my posts the wrong way. I didn't mean to come accross whining and complaining, it's just my way of keeping people updated since I brought up my whole medical issue in the first place, also I find it like a hot air balloon, just letting the air out. I am used to it raining then pouring but I also believe in making lemons out of lemonade. :)
I always feel better when I've gotten out the negative things, then I can focus more on the positive:goodvibes Feels safe to do it here for some reason :confused3 Everyone is so accepting:grouphug:

I usually ketchup at work (shh don't tell anybody) and was pretty shocked on Monday morning. But it was fun to read all the posts, especially the fluff. Yes, I know I could have skipped through it, but I enjoy all the pictures and misc. musings. It does make me feel like I am getting to know the folks I will be traveling with for 15 days. On the other hand if I log on at home my DH glances over at the laptop and says "you really want to get to know these people?":rotfl2: He just doesn't understand. He is especially "disturbed" by some of Crash's pictures and just shakes his head. I can say all these things because he doesn't check the board. :) He is a dear though and I love him. I may even post our wedding pictures if I can figure out how.

I don't post much (rather reserved) but I really like reading what all of you have to say even if I don't have much to add. But I may take a stab at the next pirate: run. It looked like so much fun.

Yeah my DH thinks everyone here (including me) is a bit "disturbed" when it comes to the DIS. He did thank me during the last cruise for all my obsessive planning though:)

Mmmmmm don't really know why a lot of people have gone AWOL. I'm hoping some are just busy, but I also know that a few no longer want to be part of this fun group, but I've never been told the complete reason why. I've always felt as if I somehow did or said something collectively wrong, but I don't know what it is. :confused3

Everyone here now seems to be a good natured bunch that gets along just fine, but I did get smacked with a snowball recently, so you do have to watch them! :goodvibes

I had to lurk for a while before I felt comfortable enough to post. It felt a little like entering a party where everyone was friendly, but knew each other very well already. Gets easier as each time I post :goodvibes

Funny you should say that! Sometimes I go to tell DH how hilarious something was on the thread...."OMG it was so funny...you should've seen"....but he just looks at me with that blank look on his face so somehow it gets lost in translation. I guess you have to experience it, to appreciate it!
Same thing here. But it goes both ways. I have to keep myself from yawing when he tells me his umpiring stories

Just an observation but there is just ususally one spouse who posts on the boards.:rolleyes1 I guess I am the crazy on in my relationship.:lmao: ;)
My DH has his boards (Star Wars, LL umpiring, watches) and I have mine (DIS). So I guess we're both a little crazy

Hey, we must have the same dining room set I recognize those chairs:thumbsup2 Beautiful table setting too.

LG ya I'm into racing and soccer too. :rotfl2:

Are you guys Nascar fans too ? My DH has recently become a fan. He came in 31st in some Nascar pool

On our last cruise thread, my wife lurked but never posted. Which got me in a lot of trouble when I made comments about her suitcase full of shoes. She was royally peeved at me until she read the comments from the other ladies and realized they also thought I was an idiot.
:lmao: I lurked a bit on my DH's Star Wars forum to see what he was going on about. He was "Darth Scooby" and I was referred to (by him and others) as "Mrs Scooby" so that is how I picked that up:) He has gradually developed a sense of what he can say without getting into trouble;)

We chose Aug 09. I wish it were closer but..needs to be July/Aug and 08 would be rushing plans (planaholic here). I so tried for this TOAL to be either wedding and/or honeymoon but it was pooh-pooh-d...
Chrissie

You'll have a better chance of getting what you really want the farther out you plan:thumbsup2 Ok, it has been a while since I got married, but I remember one photographer telling me that for popular months (May, June, October?) he was booked 2 years in advance:eek:

Isn't that the definition of "husband"

I can go all BRIDEZILLA and say this should be about me not an amazing cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to be on every page of the website!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

(Kidding...OH SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!):rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Chrissie

Chrissie, PLEASE don't tempt Tom -- he is just likely to put your picture on every page of the website -- and perhaps not in the most flattering of poses.... I am not sure the site could withstand that.

JR, I'm worried about you, that was my first thought when I read Chrissie's post.......

Hmmmmm.....

(kidding Chrissie)

Maybe I'm over-reacting... as I mentioned ealier - for unknown reasons I think I've been feeling "fickle" lately. Not sure why - but I'm tired ... alas very happy to be here in Boston. It actually SNOWED earlier today - however we did not see any. it would have been cool to have had some snow to play with though! At any rate the new baby noy is beautiful! He actually is sort of tiny even though it was a normal gestation period and typical otherwise. Mom is doing fabulous - and is looking good in spite of recovering from the C-scetion.

Alas.. I'm a little tired so will just say -I'm glad things are "managable" if not a bit of a "pain"... get it? .... <wink> Please try to take it easy!

Happy Birthday Katrina (DD Of Disney Sweetie)!!!

Special_21st_birthday_cake.jpg

Sorry I missed this yesterday. Hope it was festive!!!

So you mean there's hope for me? Maybe some day I'll learn what not to say too!
Oh, trust me this is only after many years of sticking his foot in his mouth. Now I've become hard of hearing (not on purpose) so that helps too;)

Isn't that the definition of "husband"
More like part of the survival guide to being a husband:lmao:

You must not have been picking Jimmy Johnson;)

Welcome to Massachusetts Crash! Sorry you missed the sn*w! It was pretty...especially since it didn't stick around! ;)

I think it closes in January and reopens around Christmas. That is a LONG rehab

Wow that IS a long rehab! In that time frame they must be doing some extensive enhancements. Are those little people going to come alive? :scared:

I didn't think ANY of my images might be "disturbing"....

< wink >

However, if anyone has paused in bemused reflection over anything I posted - just you remember I can be pretty spontaneous in selecting an image to go with a thought I'd like to support in a posting - and as such I am officially INNOCENT of any disturbing images posted! < steady silent grinnin' >

Seriously, most folks should know I'm a relatively normal - gainfully employed SAHD - I have worked from home in the same business (with small natural adjustments over time) for 20+ years now. The only major difference in me though, is before we had kids I would be on the road, running coast to coast for roughly half the year and my business income was significantly higher as a result. With kids I have given up on a lot of business and income opportunities... however I find the rewards of happy parenting to be priceless.

OK... enuf of all that... I know some of what i post might be viewed as odd - but remember - I am not trying to make a perfectly balanced and well conceived posting - rather I am just speeding along and matching up near miss images to the idea I'm trying to illustrate. Sometimes it works - and sometimes it does not - and other times its' probably a little ... disturbing.

I got my cabin assignment a few months ago Cat 4. Not real pleased with it (mid-ship under the Dumbotron), but oh well.

We flew Delta a few years ago at Easter. They drove me nuts!!! We were non-stop, but they changed the flight by 5 hours, and then by 1,2 and 5 minutes at least 10 times. It got to the point where I had to check my flight each morning. Each time I would lose my seat assignment and have to call (can't be done on-line) and have my seats re-assigned. The last change I was told, "sorry, no seats left". I was basically put on standby for a flight that I had booked over 6 months in advance. It all worked out in the end, but I have never had so many problems with a flight to Florida. They have better prices to MCO out of Boston than JetBlue, but IMO it is just not worth it.

My DD flew back from Germany on Delta and when she got to JFK, for no reason, they cancelled most of the flights that day and it wasn't weather related. Apparently it was common for them to do that at the time.( that's why I won't fly Delta) They told her no hotel vouchers, she wpould need to stay close to the airport. She had no cash as she was to have landed here at 1pm.She broke down crying and finally someone took pity. They got her a flight into Atlanta with a connection to Orlando. They gave her a meal voucher and sent her on her way. The plane was late. The connecting Selta flight was also cancelled, and she was now stuck in Atlanta and there weren't any more flights til the am.At this point she wasn't any better off but closer to home. One of the ticket agents took pity on her again and set her up in the private lounge where she slept til they got her up for the first avail flight in the am. Sad thing is that if she had stayed at JFK, she would've gotten home earlier. Since someone else had bought her tickets she was stuck with Delta but will never fly them again/

I know it's a little early, but we got our Christmas cards in the mail today and I thought I'd share it with all of you, especially since I don't have many of your addresses, this our :santa: Christmas Greeting :santa: to you!!!

Congrats Susan. Give him a high 5 for us.Was he the DS we met?

After 9 years at my work, someone showed me how to get into the unrestricted internet. So I was able to catch up with the board today. I'm afraid to post anything as they can catch us so I have to try to remember who said what . What a timesaver this is especially if there is a run for the pirate again :rotfl2:

They have to redo the tracks. There are some places that have not held up over the years and they've just been patched and repatched, leading to a more shallow track. This causes the boats to get stuck more often. The buzz on the internet is that it is due to Americans being bigger now than they were in the 1960's so the boats are heavier.
