Just popping in to say "hello" and to thank Tom for our latest installment of the newsletter. I am one of those people who simply can't keep up with the thread. I have been with it from the very beginning (even before the whole day 1 fiasco) but have a full-time job and am training for my first marathon and just don't have the time to read everything. I am so thankful for the newsletter because it gives a nice recap and lets me know if there is something I need to go back and check. Essentially, when I get one of those email notifications that there are new responses (maybe a dozen or so a day), I read the content of the email. If it's something interesting, I open the link and read the surrounding discussion. I know it's hit or miss, but right now, it works for me. I keep hoping that once we get closer to sail date, i will be able to devote more time to posting. I still would like to feel like I am a pirate!
One word of advice to all the mateys who have already purchased their airflights. Don't rely on the carriers to inform you of a change. I just found out (quite by accident) that my connecting flight was cancelled and I was put on another one with a 6-hour layover. When I asked Delta, why they didn't notify me, their response was that it was so early it would probably change several more times, but not to worry, they would definitely notify me at least a week before! (how's that for making your blood boil?) I was able to switch flights at no additional charge , but now have 3 legs instead of 2....grrrrr! So it might be a good idea to periodically check your flights and see if everything is OK.
Anymore people getting cabin assignments? I am still a Cat 7 QTY.
I can't keep up either! I just skim. Blah blah blah cameras...skip that! Blah blah blah math problems...skip that! Blah blah blah Dr. Who...the name is fitting!

Thanks for the heads up! We had the same problem with Delta before. I refuse to fly them now, because of all the changes they make.

Good Morning All![]()
Very cold here today, but then I heard it is supposed to be 60 by Thanksgiving - I bet that will make the Black Friday shoppers happy. Does anyone do the Black Friday thing around here? I usually do, but not this year. I think that there are going to be some killer sales the closer we get to Christmas this year. I don't know about other parts of the country, but around here the economy is really choking. I know several people that have taken their house off the market since summer because they just can't afford to move if their house sells at waht the market will allow. What a difference a year makes.
See we had a pirate run this weekend - Congrats Mike.
Thanks for the festive smilies Tom, Diane, Cheryl & Chrissie. I love them!!!!
Tom, thanks for the newsletter. I appreciate the hard work that must go into putting it together each month![]()
Diane - you said it perfectly. This has turned out to be a great group of people and even if you can't post much, jump on in when you can. On my last cruise, some of the nicest people I met hadn't posted much on our thread at all, but once we were on the cruise I got to know them better than some of the regular posters. Sometimes it just works out that way.
Tom appreciate your hard work too!

Thanks buddy!

We are going to NH for a few days. We're going to eat at Hart's Turkey Farm for Thanksgiving. (Yipee I don't have to cook or put up with the in-laws!) And we are going to try & hit the outlets in North Conway on Black Friday! We must be crazy!
