Ah, yes, Sweeney Todd, did you know he sings in this movie?

http://www.deppimpact.com/video/st_trailer2.wmv

It's a very dark movie but it looks good. I never saw the stage versions but this story definitely has a following.

I want to see this. Never saw the stage version. I have seen the stage production of Mac the Knife. That isn't excatly a happy play either. Saw it at the National in D.C. about 18 years ago with Sting and Maureen McGovern. Also saw a Producation at the Hillberry theater of WSU. I don't think it is as grusome as Sweeney Todd.

I saw Three Penny Opera (which has the song Mack the Knife in it) with Sting, too! They were here on Broadway before going elsewhere and I will never forget getting out of the theater and it had begun to snow -- it was the night before Thanksgiving and the parade the next day almost didn't go on because there was so much snow.

And you are right, Brecht's play is not nearly as gruesome as Sweeney. . .

If anyone has an Entertainment book there are Enterprise coupons in there. Good for 15% off neighborhood locations, 10% off airport ones. I booked an Alamo SUV from Lax to use for 3 days--it ran about 65 a day. haven't decided if I am keeping yet or using a car/shuttle service.

Stace, final payment is due before you can make excursion/palo etc.

DU had my balance due May 18th. I am assuming that's when everyone's final payment is due.:)

I am glad I already bit the bullet on the TOAL!

I wasn't even thinking about the actual payment due date. I was looking at our latest newsletter, and looking at the date for booking excursions (for suites).
Better really get the girls in gear! I've made a couple of payments, and so have a couple of the others, but not all of us.

I'll get more excited about the excursions when they finally release them. Wish they would do it soon:rolleyes1 All this waiting is getting harder and harder.:)

A great source for car rental codes is mousesavers.com. She lists all the major rental companies and all the codes and coupons available.

For Enterprise it seems that all the offers have already been mentioned, Entertainment Books and Geico insurance. She also suggests to watch the Sunday travel section in newspapers.

By the way ... we're just kidding about it being you an' all... everyone knows MIKE was the guilty party. He did after all end up siezing the 80,000th post from all of us, right?

Just popping in to say "hello" and to thank Tom for our latest installment of the newsletter. I am one of those people who simply can't keep up with the thread. I have been with it from the very beginning (even before the whole day 1 fiasco) but have a full-time job and am training for my first marathon and just don't have the time to read everything. I am so thankful for the newsletter because it gives a nice recap and lets me know if there is something I need to go back and check. Essentially, when I get one of those email notifications that there are new responses (maybe a dozen or so a day), I read the content of the email. If it's something interesting, I open the link and read the surrounding discussion. I know it's hit or miss, but right now, it works for me. I keep hoping that once we get closer to sail date, i will be able to devote more time to posting. I still would like to feel like I am a pirate!

If it looks like a pirate, talks like a pirate, and reads the DIS like a pirate, then it must be a pirate! Glad you're part of the crew.

Spent the weekend in Palm Desert at the DILs. Weather was great upper 80's. Went biking, fishing and swimming. Pictures from my new camera

Congrats on the new camera. The pictures were beautiful.

I still have some of the incision that hasn't closed yet...and since we're about 30 days out from our cruise I've started to worry about going on the beach, getting in the ocean....and what shoes to wear to dinner! The one that hasn't closed is on the side of my foot. The one on my calf closed nicely a long time ago.
Still going to therapy 3x a week...and doing well. Need to build back my calf muscles, they atrophied. I kind of like it this way, makes my leg skinnier. :lmao: But my therapist says "Muscles are our friends" so we must build them back up again. My endurance is pretty low, can't walk too far for too long. But at least I'm walking, and I am soooooo grateful for that!!

Thanks for asking!

Sounds like like you're slowly but surely getting there with your foot. Keep up the hard work!

We were talking about this the other day. When do you think the excursions for the Westbound repo will be released? They're only about 6 months out now. Maybe we can guage some of our excursions based on what they have offered.

I also want to add that for car rentals keep checking the price. It will almost always go down the closer you get to the trip. Just about every car rental I've done, that was not priceline, has gone down in cost. What I do is just price out a new reservation and if it's lower, book it, then go back and cancel my original.

I emailed DCL awhile back and this was part of their response.

Dear Paula,

Thank you for booking a Disney Cruise Line Vacation!

At this time, we are still hard at work compiling exciting activities
for you to discover on the Panama Canal Cruise. Please check back on the
website after the first of the year for updates on these offerings.

Monica, I do the same thing. I usually find my rates have gone up though:)

Hi pirate:

Need your opinion here...

I just booked a Mini Van Rental with Enterprise..since there are 4 of us.. DH, MIL and FIL

We are picking it up around 10:30 at LAX on the 14 .. and dropping it off at San Pedro.. on the 17

Total being 264.76 they R charging me 25.00 one way drop off fee..

Is this a good price.. :confused3

We just paid Budget 240.00 for a week long rental of a Ford Escape, unlimited mileage.

I have a really stupid question and if you all laugh at me, I may go away and hide forever. Take into consideration that I've been heavily medicated, and that it's been a while since our last Disney cruise.:rolleyes1

But....

Do you have to be paid in full before you can book excursions and Palo and spa?

You don't have to be on NCL, and those are the last two cruises I was on, so now I don't remember DCL's policy.
:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I believe you do Stacey. Not quite sure.

That would be a shame if you couldn't go to the beach. Although for me any excuse to wear flip flops to dinner is a good one.

Here's 25 days worth of pixie dust for you. (for some reason you're only allowed to include 25 images in a post, so I owe you 5 to make it for all 30 days) pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

First off, thanks for sharing all the wedding photos. They are great... Question: how do get your old photos on the internet? I would love to post some of mine.

http://www.edealinfo.com/Coupons/enterprise.shtml

Here's one site I found that has discounts....but none for our time frame yet. We'll have to wait a while.

There are a whole bunch of sites like that one. I just did a search for "Discount Coupons for Enterprise Rental Cars".

Thanks for the link, Stacey. I will work on cars after I book my flight...Come on, JetBlue

pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: Sending 5more your way

We are going to NH for a few days. We're going to eat at Hart's Turkey Farm for Thanksgiving. (Yipee I don't have to cook or put up with the in-laws!) And we are going to try & hit the outlets in North Conway on Black Friday! We must be crazy!

Ahhh, Outlet Shopping Mecca - I'm jealous. Have fun.

Mary Ann, I have NO PLANS to hit the stores on black friday. It has probably been at least 5 years or longer since I've gone out. Too many rude people. How have you been feeling?:)

I love going out early on Black Friday. Just the opposite, I have a great time with the people in line waiting for the store to open. There is no place for grumpy people 5AM at Walmart :rotfl: .

I am feeling great today, thanks. Unfortunately, treatment tomorrow. It all starts again :faint: . Don't know if I will make it for Thanksgiving Dinner at the In-laws. They are just around the corner so I can go over anytime when I feel better.

That's really nice of you!! I'll accept all the pixie dust I can get!
Since it's Norwegian Cruise Line, and they have the Freestyle dining...I CAN get away with flip-flops every night....except we wanted to do one semi-formal night (Christmas night) so that we could take a picture, and make it special. Maybe I can choose a really long dress, so my flip-flops won't show....;)

Thanks for the "final five" Mary Ann!! You guys are too good! Here's some back at you for tomorrow...:tink: :tink: :tink:

Headed out all by myself this afternoon. It's the first time that I've gone alone, without someone driving me. I went to the post office, the gas station, the bank and the grocery store. Now I want to collapse....but it's too late for a small snooze, I'd be up all night.

84° out there, with a low predicted of 56° tonight.
Andy....you need to move here and read meters. The guys do it from a truck and use binoculars!
