AND having to be ready for a national level show on Friday (Jakob won his Juniors class, I took 4th in a very large class). Well, it's nice to be getting 7 hours of sleep again a night.

Let's see, what else? Oh. I'm driving down to SoCal on Saturday (to Edwards AFB - so I should miss all the fires) to take possession of our new (used) camper. We'll camp in it over night on the base (sure hope there's room!) and head home on Sunday. I really excited. It's nothing much - a 2003 tent camper. But it'll get the boys and I to the National Parks next summer - and I won't be forever unpacking a kitchen!

Well, gotta run. Will try to finish ketchup this evening.

Congratulations Jakob!!
And Esteri too!:cool1: :cool1:

Good luck at the National show:cheer2: :cheer2:

And enjoy your new/used camper:goodvibes

We did a personality study at church a few years back, I scored a 20 for Phlegmatic and a 19 for Melancholic, boy, did it get me right...........

schedulereview13.jpg

Well...

..technically speaking. Andrew's daily average according to the profile is 9.07 posts per day. SO... since we have 320 days (roughly) til embarkation - then we should see an additional 2,902 postings to add to the 12,014 presently shown.

Therefore, I bet 15,000 is a conservative expectation in Andrews' case.

Crash, if you win the estimate, you get a mickey bar! The only problem being that Andrew could choose to speed up or slow down his rate of posting to manipulate the results . . . and of course he would!

What?

No sprinkles?

Prayers for all the California pirates to make it through the fires safely!

I've been reading on the DVC members cruise thread. Sounds like they are having a great time and their entertainment sounds wonderful--the Disney Legends. Makes me a little sad, I was booked for this one and moved my payments to this repo.:upsidedow

(Come on August can ya get here a little quicker?)

Don't be sad! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Our cruise is going to kick that cruise's butt, metaphorically speaking!!!!!! You can do a DVC member cruise another year . . .

Now that would be ALOT of sprinkles:)

Not to me it wouldn't!

Alicia knows I have always had a sweet tooth...

problem is diabetes runs in my family so I should really be more careful then i am...

So - on another note - the skies directly overhead are somewhat clear and blue - but of to the north east they are an angry brown. To any who have not seen the latest news the loss of homes is now over 1300. They say about 1 million people have been forced to evacuate thier homes. I'm not sure exactly how that is counted - but it's enuf to say 100s of thousands have certainly evacuated. 4 years ago they lost 4,600 homes to a fire season - and so by comparison it's not as bad.

Prayers and sympathy to those who have had a bad run in this fire season.

And there are only so many vacation dollars to go around:)

Now the sprinkles add a festive look, but to me they have no taste.:)
And speaking of health, how the ears and your balance doing?

So you all have a yearly fire season? ( for some reason I didn't think that--just thought you all had been having some dry summers recently) I was watching more on the news this evening. Prayers to all effected.

Laurie, have your parents been evacuated?

Paula,

Not to say any thread or press gang of wenches an' swabbies has more or less fun then the other - but I bet we're one of the few on the DIS to have a pre-cruise Secret Mickey exchange started - and we're probably one of the few to have as many images and animations posted (which - BTW - are not insultingly large fles - but carefully kept modest in file size out of consideration to our friends with slower connections <Arlene? ;) >). AND... our thread is a beastof a different kind since the top 40 contributors have at least 580 individual postings here. We've had one arguably intense and lengthy cocktail party going here - with 78,000 postings and 846,000 visits - it's no wonder we are finally seeing a little lull in the action every now and then.

So we're not an unfriendly gang R we? And in our own little way I think we have as much fun and giggles as the next gang - more or less. And as with anyone or anyplace - there will be ebb and flows of activity. IE - every thread will have a peak and slowing of activity from time to time. We are not different, eh?

OK... enuf of my dribble - my point in brief - we have fun here too - and if it seems slow that's cuz a lot of folks are busy it seems. Which is not always the case.

< wink - followed by a steady silent grin>

ALternatovely....

rereading your comments - it sounds like the DVC sailing may already be embarked. If so then obviously we would have a tough time holding a candle to a gang already ON the ship. SO if that's the case - I give up and surrender. There's no competiting against THAT!

<smiles>

Where's the 8/10th of a moose?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Would these be the famous Nunivak Island muskox in Alaska?
Alaska population was wiped out in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century, but muskoxen have since been reintroduced to Alaska. The United States Fish & Wildlife introduced muskox onto the Nunivak Island in 1935 as a means for sustenance living.

Ovibos_moschatus.jpg

Yes, they are musk ox. I love musk ox.

A month after graduating from college I was a 21-year-old midwestern suburban girl who got on a plane and move to an island off the coast of Alaska to DATE a guy who broke up with me 6 months earlier. So I get off the plane in Anchorage and I am greeted by a lovely taxidermy musk ox. What the %^$# have I gotten myself into??

As you know, it all worked out & I still love musk oxen!

Crash what is "girt?" :confused3

I think it is something you do to your loins.

No rolling on the floor alllowed!!!:rotfl: These were pictures taken at my DGD 3rd Birthday party Saturday.

Awesome photos! You are all too cute!

1) Slow day for M.
2) Some sort of post-Cleveland depression musing

yes
yes

And my dog's butt looks just like the black and white one in the photo!

He does have a nice-sized sword, however.

Not that there is anything wrong with J.R. noticing.

But does he have a good personality???????

:rotfl2:

Well, since it is still a very sticky 76* (83* in the house) here at 10:15pm, and my lovely bride is having hot flashes, it's time to turn the AC back on for the night. Gotta keep the lady of the house comfortable...............;)

Makes my life better at home as well............

Nite Johnboy

Nite 'Lizabeth

Nite Ma

Nite Pa

sorry, with all the goodnights around here, all I could think of was bedtime at the Waltons :rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I was thinking the exact same thing when I read that. Must be part of the same generation:goodvibes

Laurie, have your parents been evacuated?

Actually, my parents live in NY. My Mom was updating me on my "little" sister's situation in San Diego. My Sis, her DH and DS5 did have to evacuate yesterday, but were able to return to their house today (everything still in one piece-Thank God:cloud9: ). Anyway, the air quality is so bad that they have to go stay in one of the DL hotels for a few days:goodvibes My nephew must be having a ball:rolleyes:
I didn't want to call her during the whole thing because I figured she was busy packing up her cars and wouldn't appreciate any unnecessary phone calls.

Now taken out of context, this is just way too much info!!!:lmao:

To be quite honest Tom, I have been booked and paid in full on 2 DVC member cruises and cancelled both of them for one reason or another. The one they are on now is a 4 nighter. They always seems to do really nice things for the members----but they also do really NICE things for the repos. The cost of the member cruise (for 2) was 1/2 of the repo (for 3 of course our cabin category is lower) and for 11 additional nights it was a no brainer. I waited several weeks after booking this one to cancel. Just one of the downfalls of so many of us----limited time off away from work.

And it's not like I HAVEN'T taken some truly wonderful vacations this year:rolleyes1 and 2008 promises to be just as great:banana:
especially this here pirate: repossession:)
