So here is how I spent this weekend. Please pardon the moment of indulgence...

We spent Fri. night-Sat. at the Baltimore Running Festival. It was HUGE! 6,000 people in the 1/2 marathon alone. Kids fun run, marathon 1/2 marathon, 5-K - all pretty much at the same time. Something like 12,000 runners.

I love active people. All the activity is just an excuse to drink! We used to belong to a triathlon club, we met once a week to swim, then drink beer and eat things from the grill. My skate group goes 10-14 miles every Friday night, then ends up at a beer & pizza place.

During the race, the line at the beer cart was about 30 people deep at 10 a.m. (right after the 5K). As the lead singer of hte band commented: "Some of you people have trained for months just for an excuse to drink outside in the middle of the morning."

Anyway, we made the trip because DH has to submit a time for the WDW marathon in January. After running the 1/2 marathon this weekend he wants me to make him a t-shirt for the WDW full.

The kids ran the fun run too. Here are my guys:

DS9 (in shorts) came in about 15th in the 8-12yo 1/2 mile run.

DS7 also ran the 8-12yo race and came in about the middle of the pack (maybe 200 kids)

yeah, that's about the same face I make when I run!

And just because I'm clogging up the thread with photos - here's DH & I leaving for our Birthaversary dinner last week.

I think our Vet made a mistake in giving MR HYPER the "melting" kind of stitches. He doesn't have to go back in unless he has a problem.

We gave up on the E-Collar (or Flashlight collar...;) ) and tried using a rolled up towel as a cervical collar (on the vet's advice) and now instead of that, he's wearing a "Doggie Diaper". We had to remove the E-Collar because he was having some kind of allergic reaction and was miserable with his face all swollen....

OOPS..sorry...TMI.....

Anyway, he also appears to be healing nicely.

Allergic? Maybe you had it on too tight and it was cutting off his circulation! :lmao: I was going to try the towel thing myself, but couldn't get him to hold still long enough to put it on.

I love the t-**** idea! That's too funny, M.

Sounds like your family had a great time.

Here's the lesson I learned this morning:

If you set your alarm for 7:00 PM, it does NOT go off at 7:00 AM!

We missed church, and Sunday school has already started, so the kids are missing that too. We're going to head out to the Museum of Natural Sciences when the kids are done with breakfast. We haven't been to the "Dino Museum" in a long time. We almost always carry a membership for the zoo, and then rotate through a membership to either this museum or the Franklin Institute. I guess we're overdue because DS10 has been bugging me to go for about a month now.

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Diane this one gets honorable mention. :rotfl2:

Glad you thought it was funny Roger! I was worried for a bit! :goodvibes

Help...

I've

Fallen

Off

the

Thread

and

I can't

Keep

UP!

:rotfl2:

Hey Strangers - I had to pirate: this as it was put so eloquently. I am still alive here and just killing some time. Haven't been on here in over a month and was wondering if I should try and keep up. Looks like Stace's post answered my questions. Hope everyone is doing well and hopefully I'll be checking in more often.

Have a great weekend everyone!

No need to keep up with this thread since all the info is on the website. Just check in & say Hi when you can! :thumbsup2

1) 5) Where/how did you 1st meet your SO (or last hot date?) ... I kno ... its' a potentially a loaded question.

We met in college at a card game of crazy eights. He was horribly rude, made fun of me and has been trying to make up for it ever since
(hot dates-the Keith Urban concert in August 2007:woohoo: )

I had to quote this because DH was horribly rude to me too when we met! We weren't playing crazy eights, we were at a bar, but I swore at him! He thought it was cute!

He doesn't think it's so cute anymore! :rolleyes1

Yesterday was a bad day with all the morning rain and chilly winds, today has been much better, thank goodness!!! I had the heating pad wrapped around my right knee for a few hours last night, but I haven't had to use it at all today!!! :thumbsup2

Aging is so much fun.................NOT!!!

Sorry the darn cold weather has arrived with a vegeance! :sad2:

I believe I HAVE heard some cheering...and it HELPS!!

I know I've been a bit of a whiner these past 5 weeks, and I do apoligize for that......but I can't begin to tell you how good it feels to be finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!!

Stace this group is great for offering support, as I know first hand, so please don't feel bad about coming here to voice the struggle you've been going through for 5 weeks. So glad to hear that things are looking up!

It's another nice day here. Again we slept with the windows open last night. It's such a nice break fromthe A/C being on all the time. It's off to work in a bit :surfweb:

I've had to have the heat on the last couple of nights! :sad2:

And just because I'm clogging up the thread with photos - here's DH & I leaving for our Birthaversary dinner last week.

All the pics are great! You look so beautiful in the last one! It's so nice that you & your family are so athletic! I wish this family of couch potatoes would get out & move, but it just seems like so much work!

Speaking of work...the Indians sure worked the Sox over last night! That was painful to watch!!! Sad thing is I stayed up till after 1am to watch us get pounded!

Been there....done that! ;)

Hi everyone,
we're back home and online after 7 days on the Magic. I have a ton of ketchup to do but, here's a teaser of trip report (which will be over in a different thread).

Great pic there Andy!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Andy - great pic. 919 photos in 7 days, (large gulp) does that mean approx 2000 for the TOAL?!?!

Just dropping by before the rugby (Surely the final will be against S.Africa, but need to check). We survived DDs sleepover (just), but I'm tired even if the girls aren't - they were playing hide & seek at 0215 until I threw then back into their cell!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 You did it, congrats on post #3000!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Hey Paula - Like Bernie Mac in the movie "Mr 3000", we can now call you "Mrs 3000". Congrats! :yay:

 Hhhmmm....do I sense another nickname?

Congrats Paula!

Diane - (allshookup) thanks for the reminder - I guess my key for entry is appropriate - (Inside joke) but hey - if it works! :rotfl2:

On another note - my DD didn't get home from her volleyball tournament until 8 pm! :scared1: so I didn't get a chance to play with my new toy as I got involved with setting up some pictures in my scrapbook - did I mention that I REALLY hate ARTISTIC people? How in the world do they do all those amazing scrapbooks???? Someone please send hlep.........er........I mean help. :rotfl2:

Weather here is supposed to be nice - at 1 pm PST - it was 72 degrees with an estimated high of 75. Somehow it just doesn't seem fair does it? And here I am dying to wear my brand new-chocolate-brown-finally-fits-right Ugg boots which I can't because its too warm.

Oh - and just to let you all know, in case no one has started it yet - today there is officially only 72 days until Christmas day! :scared1: 71 if you all open them on Christmas Eve.

I would just like to say that I have finally started some of my shopping. Not much - usually except for the last 2 years am done by mid Oct!!!

Stace - I've been away for a while but thought I'd let you know that your posts always bring a smile to my face - for some reason - I really enjoy reading your posts - even if you think they are whining - (which I haven't seen but hey - we're our own worst critic) - thanks for the laughs!!! :thumbsup2 (Dang they moved those smileys again)

Ain't I a stinker?????? :dance3:

I'll probably take more :yay: as the TOAL ports will be new for us (except CC)

Andy

Hey AndyR - your pictures look so familiar - but just in case I'm Laura - didn't want you to think I was too forward and have you think that some  DISser was too forward, I think we have a lot to catch up to on Cpt Crash - but on my 7 day one I took over 3000 pictures.......hmmmmm.....Paula's nickname seems to be creeping in here today :rotfl2: .

(Anyway, I had a lot to take pictures of so I had an advantage.)

That trip - which BTW, I'm still on :cloud9: about - I haven't come down all the way yet - I'm hoping that :tink: will wave her pixiedust: on me until my next cruise - I took over 6000 pictures. I had bought 7 photo albums that holds 500 4 x 6 pictures thinking that would be enough - after just putting in 2 days of my vacation - turns out I may need 3 more. What was I thinking! :headache: Anyway, watch out - it creeps up on you! :rolleyes1
