8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 16

OK gals need an opinion Seems my OCPD is kicking in,must be my cruise coming up in less than a month, but......I noticed that there were 2 formal nights on the last PC cruise so I am assuming it will happen again. Would it be a no no to wear my absolutely gorgeous, very disney cruisish, formal gown on both nights? Also is there dry cleaning on board? I will be doing the 5 dayer afterward and might want to get it cleaned after the second night. Trying to do the less is more attempt when it comes to the packing.

It wouldn't think anything would be wrong with wearing the same dress. I haven't ever used the dry cleaning, but have used them for pressing only. If you are staying any length of time at DL and then 20 night--it is gonna be a lot of packing. I haven't decided how dressy I am going to get for formal night yet. (I am justifying this to myself also LOL)

I don't have anything profound to say - I think my brain is still trying to cope with my PTO volunteering

I'm wondering ... are there any other grown-up princesses out there who would love to play dress up. I'm thinking of being a "princess" one of the formal nights and wearing a tiara and maybe even gloves (like Cinderella!) with my formal dress. How crazy am I? Can a 42 (by then 43) year old be a princess or will everyone be snickering behind my back? Anyone else have a secret wish they could dress up like the little girls do?

Shhh - Actually, I did dress up as a princess when I got married - it probably wasn't obvious to most, but I helped design my dress (my mother made it) and it definitely was influenced by my dreams of being a princess!

I wouldn't snicker at you Pamela. If you would like to be a princess--go for it. It is your TOAL! I don't think I will be wearing anything that fancy though But the little ones are adorable--I know if I would have had a girl--I would have been in the poor house.

WE'RE GOING TO WDW!!!

11/2-11/6. Short trip. Not really finalized - waiting for DH's leave to be approved.

Anyway, the kids randomly have Nov 5 & 6 off I had two pick-your-own-holidays and two personal days that I have to use or lose before the end of the year, AND WDW is offering 40% off rack rate for active duty military...kismet, I tell you!

Since it is such a short trip we are going to try a value resort for the first time, we have ressies at POP.

I LOVE the Food and Wine Festival. And we'll still keep the streak alive of my kids going at least once a year for life.

I had originally banned a big vacay this year do to the TOAL. But than my cousins planned a family one and DH couldnt say no. (notice I said DH !!! and their MY cousins ) Except it is a non-disney vacation
And I know we wont be able to squeeze anything in before the TOAL. I running on vacation day fumes at this point.

Hmm, I can't remember the last time I posted on this thread....somewhere back in February, I think. LOL. Back then, it was moving waaaaay to fast for me to keep up. I took a break from the Dis to work on my life (job hunting, mainly!), and now I'm back. And I have great news...I'm interviewing on Monday for a position in Melbourne, Florida, which is about an hour from Disney. If I get the job (and I really, really, REALLY want this job, because it's perfect for me!), I'll finally be able to justify getting an annual pass, and the odds go up considerably that we'll be able to go on the TOAL cruise (in my current position, we'd have to cancel because of the college schedule next August would keep me from going). Plus, I'll get an unexpected dose of Disney this weekend, since we're flying into Orlando and going to hit DTD for lunch on Saturday night before heading to Melbourne for apartment shopping and familiarizing ourselves with the area. Cheers, everyone! I'm off to catch up on the last few pages of the thread, and jump right into the conversation!

You're not crazy. I had a Belle dress made for me last year for MNSSHP by a seamstress friend of mine because I wanted a grown-up princess dress (and it wasn't cheap!). I almost wore it on our most recent cruise for formal night, but decided I didn't want to mess with the hoop skirt that goes underneath. But, by golly, I have my princess dress now, and I love it!

I think if I was going on both cruises, I would pack 2 dresses for 3 formal nights. But that is just me. I love dressing up and DH I both have enough dress-up work events that I have a closet full of formals (...in a range of sizes...), so I don't really NEED to buy dresses for the cruise (or if I do buy a new dress, I know I will have the opportunity to wear it again).

Having said that...I think it is perfectly acceptable to wear the same dress for both formal nights.

I think if I was going on both cruises, I would pack 2 dresses for 3 formal nights. But that is just me.
