Wow, My Mom was 38 when I was born!!! I've never thought of my Mom as the age she is, she is so much younger than 70. She has more energy than I have. But I'm 32 and definitely still feel like a kid!!! I still get set at the kids table during holidays

Well, you know how teens are. And I was barely past the "teen" age when I got married (at 20) so at that time, I was still in the frame of mind that my mom was old. Yanno how that works? I'm sure my 13yr old thinks I'm ancient as well. But then that was also the year my mom had her accident and so... well, she doesn't seem OLD but she doesn't seem young- in her condition. So my frame of mind about her age kinda ended at the point where I was still thinking she was ancient- yanno? I was still young at the age where everyone that age thinks their parents are soooo old. LOL

And now I'm the same age she was then- the same age she was when I got married and the same age she was then when she had her accident. And I certainly don't feel as old as I thought she was back then. LOL

Thanks! Thought that with football season coming up, I needed to show my allegiance (Go OU!). Plan now for the post-meet at the 'Shoe on Sept. 6, 2008 to watch the Frank Solich led Ohio Bobcats upset Jim Tressel's boys.

I'm not even sure what you send in with BC- but if you have to send in other documents-I'll go by the spelling everything (but the BC) is and hope they don't notice that it's spelled without the E on the birth certificate. If it's only the BC- then I don't know what. I was going to say I'd just apply with the spelling that is on the BC but then once you have a passport- do you have to show it with other form of documentation when boarding? (like SS or DL?) because at that point then my documents wouldn't "match" on the spelling of the names. ugh

It might not be that big a deal. Think about it. I bet most adult women don't have the exact same name they were born with. I changed my last name when I got married & no one has ever asked to see my marriage license to prove that Michelle Rene XXXXXXXXX is now legally Michelle Rene YYYYY.

Good for you....not a fair weather fan! And we have been thru some Buckeye "droughts" as well. Need I mention the John Cooper era? Okay....so it wasn't nearly as bad as what you mentioned, his overall record during his tenure here is 111-43-4....BUT his record against Michigan is 2-10-1, and his bowl record is 3-8.

But we were always proud Buckeye fans!

I look at it this way, work will always be there and our kids grow up so darn fast.

I just scheduled the first week of September off. I did the same thing when Angelina started Kindergarten, so I figured why not do it the week she starts her Senior Year of high school. I got misty-eyed just thinking about it this morning.

Of course another issue popped up.

The State of South Carolina issues small, credit card size BCs. There isn't a seal on the darn thing.

I called one of my aunts last night since she and her husband just went through the passport process last year.(both were born in SC) They didn't have any problems with their BCs.

On top of all of this, the passport application says I need someone to appear with me to vouch for who I am. Why? I don't have the proper government issued ID. See, I'll be 40 in January, but I never learned to drive. According to the application I can't present my permit as ID.

I call another (thank goodness my mom has so many sisters ) aunt who never learned to drive but has a passport. She was able to use her nondriver ID card which was issued by DMV. She said the agent never questioned it, so maybe it's common here. So she doesn't have a driver's license and her BC doesn't have an official seal(yup, she was born in SC) yet she has a passport.

She recommended that I do everything at the main post office downtown Brooklyn.

I had planned to get the ball rolling around Christmas. I'm going to start in October.

Have you applied for the "non-military" passport yet? They required my DW to submit a certified (raised seal) version of marriage cert along with birth cert (that was last summer)
