Does anyone collect charms for the old-fashioned kind of charm bracelet?

I have one and I try to get a charm in every port we're at. (I'm betting Cartagena might be tough) but anyway......the last time the Magic did the Mexican Riviera they saved me a ton of trouble...they had charms that had DCL on one side, and each port on the other.

Just a little tid bit for collectors.
Stace, I never thought to look on board for charms. But I buy a one from each new port we get to visit...................btw I have several I need to get added.:) I have only bought a few that have port names on them though, I usually look for something that I enjoyed there.:)

:flower3: ..PBader...how's your son? [ ours have given us a few more
grey hairs....eps., the "girl ~ crazy one!]

...are you wisc. badger fan?...my neighbor [hugh wolverine fan], believes
they will win the big 10?

LG Adam is doing just fine. Settling into his senior year. I think he is missing football a little this year (he decided in Jan. not to play this year).....but he won't admit it. Gray hairs! Yes I had quite a few added over the summer, but I do try to camo. them (:lmao: ) Here both love the KY Wildcats--between football and basketball season I am lucky to watch anything on the large TV. Adam and Alan are going to try to drive to Lexington next weekend to watch University of KY's football game. At least I am hoping that is what tickets he needed the cc to order with.:goodvibes

Methinks Lil' G is baitin' me and tryin' to lull me into TROUBLE with the bikini talk...

:hippie: ..ok, whose in this bunch been "fluffing things up...
again?"

[edited]

....hey, cpt. crash... think of the "fortunes" could be made....in trading cards?...we could make a whole sewries of bikini flags..& matching naked pirates of the panama canal...y-tou think micmse? pamama red and the new riders of the purple saga are off "horsing around"?

..so this is where all the fluff..being used up?

..on another site..someone asked about worst disney movies....
someone mentioned lilo'& stitch? , iam surprised...that lil'story
had alot meanings for adopted children, well, that's what i thought.

then "no tippers"..debate....that was very :sad2: . its not to say,
everyone is prefect but it is an obligation- understood , people
working for nothing...* when we have had a problem,..we used a
corrective measure approach..to resolve..not to get out of tipping..
we sorta tip..based on who is working the most...& we start @
the recomended amt..
So OK... I'll give in an conduct a search for a Bikini made with Pirate Flags for the Swabbies consideration:

Well... to keep things EQUAL - so please don't get the WRONG impression of me - I'm gonna post this one "bikini" image below for the Wenches:

I hope everyone had a great chat last night. Sorry I missed it.

As I mentioned last week to Pbader and Crash (I think they were the only ones left when I joined the chat), that I would miss this week's chat due to my going to Atlantic City for my annual fantasy football draft.

Well, the draft went great. Then went to the tables and was getting thoroughly drubbed. Was down to my last $75 or so.. Decided to bet it all in one hand of blackjack... it looked like I was going to lose so I stood up (getting ready to leave the table).. but the hand won! I decided to stay standing (try anything for goodluck) and then I went on a great tear on that table - an in about 45 mins was up over $2000! Left the table at the first sign of trouble and pocketed $1600 (nuff to pay for half of the "Prelude to a TOAL".... which is tomorrow!!!).

If the rest of my vacation goes as well as yesterday I will be set.

So I am signing off until after Labor Day!

Happy wishes to all!

WELL...I already have our banner, and it WILL at least be on the verandah on the day that we pass through the canal. That was the whole idea.

I think you're right, Andrew, if we put it up in the morning, then it probably won't be a problem as long as we take it back down that afternoon or evening.

Imagine my horror (and DCL's) when we arrived in Barbados for the very first time ever, and someone had all their undies on a line on their verandah!! It didn't make for the best showing.

OMG, that is hilarious.

There have been a few places where I could not find ones with the name of the island on them, so I bought something to "remind" me of that place. So I now have a turtle, a dolphin, a starfish and a seashell with a pearl in it....but I don't remember where I got them!

Oh for crying out loud.
I haven't read the board for a few days (catching up after my INSANE weekend Fri-Mon and still busy after Monday too) and now I come back to find that things have changed? they no longer have those little arrow thingies to the left of the thread that you could click and it would take you to the last posts you'd read on the thread the last time you were here?

That was my only saving grace on this thread! I never could keep up (and/or know where I left off- where I'd read last) on the blabbermouths thread. With that little arrow thingy I was doing better at keeping up on this thread- even when I was gone for a few days or something.

Why oh why, ye Dis masters, have ye decided to taketh the arrow thingies away from me??? :confused3 :sad2:

Good luck on me catching up now. Let me spend an hour or so clicking back pages until I find one I recognize and THEN start reading from there... forever more to be tons of pages behind everyone else... trying to "ketchup". *sigh*

I'm really far behind, so you might already know this. I just go to history on my computer & click on the last page I visited on this thread. Takes me right where I left off.

Here are a few pics of the tornado that came thru on Thursday. This was less than six blocks away. Took mostly video clips but haven't figured out how to post those yet.

The 4th picture is a trampolene up in tree about 30 feet from where it should have been. It was heavily anchored into the ground.
The last picture the house has a 20 foot hole in the roof, it's covered with a tarp now.

Cheryl

Those are some amazingly scary pitcures. This morning on the news there was a report showing them sandbagging to hold back potential flooding in Wheeling, IL. Isn't someone from our thread from there - I couldn't remember. I do hope everyone is/stays safe!!!

So to some this may seem half empty while to others it seems half full. Roll with it as its' just a couple of weeks. WDW is not expected to be going anywhere anytime soon - so you can afford to put it off a few weeks. The deferment will make your next visit that much more special! In part - that's why we try to space out the Disney cruise thing. If we tried to do more frequent sailings it would reduce the ejoyment (for me at least) ... to say nothing of reducing my mad money on hand <chuckles>.

Except our friends from the last cruise (David from England, on this thread, & Cheryl & John, on this thread) are going to be there now. :sad1: I know that David's son was really looking forward to hanging out for a bit with my 16dd... And she was looking forward to seeing him, also.

DH is enjoying the England deal (finding a building and negotiating the deal)and the remodeling is actually on a local building -- they are moving the home offices. And he REALLY wants to make sure the building is remoled to his liking since they aren't likly to redo it anytiem in the next couple of decades..... :)

He has already been to England twice this summer and we know he is going to have to go again... I wish it was closer to David & Helen! That was the first thing dh asked me was if it was close enough to them for a visit. :)

I had considered going with just the kids (and leaving dh at home) but, I just got back from the ABD with 2 of the kids. And we really do miss dh when he isn't with us. ;) That and I'm not sure I want to take 6dd without him! LOL! She is HIGH maintence! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Happy News!!!
Took my oldest son (currently 19) to NYC for his 6 month check-up on Thursday. Everything went well, but now we have the official news: his PET and CT were clean. That means five years clean: He's now considered cured!!!

Of course, he said he was cured once they stopped treatments, but I'm one happy momma!

CONGRATS!!!!!!! That truly is wonderful news

Anyways... relax and divert attention to other easy distractions. Underdog just opened in the theaters and we're thinking of trying to catch a showing. My spouse got this $25 movie gift card for buying certain groceries during a promotion. THe card expires in a few days - so its' a case of use it or lose it - and conveniently UnderDOG has arrived!

We are going to see that movie later this week! Let us know if it is any good! :) We love *kid* movies!

I took the boys to see Underdog last weekend. DS 7 loved it. DS 10 thought it was pretty good (but don't tell anyone it might decrease his cool rating)

My mom and her "friend" Walt decided to join us in November on our 4 day cruise to the Bahamas. I just finished placing their ressie online and was able to get them a cabin just two doors down from us. :goodvibes

I told my mom, maybe she and Walt can use this cruise for their Honeymoon...............;) ;) ;)

Hey Lisa--I watched the Empress of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean ship, sailaway from Philly this afternoon. I was on my way to pick Hazel up from her sister's house, and on my way there I saw the ship pulling away from the doc. I stopped alongside the river and got a pic of it with my cam phone. I also saw my boss and his wife there, they are sailing on the Empress the end of September and they came down to the river to get a look at it as it sailed away.

Added photo below of the Empress leaving Philly today. The pic was taken where the ferry used to go between NJ and the Naval Shipyard on the Philly side of the river.

Cheryl -- glad to hear you are okay. Thanks to these storms, our flight out of MCO was cancelled Thursday and we just got back to Chicago from MIAMI a few hours ago. It's a long story I will tell when I have recovered. Definitely not our most fun Disney vacation ever....
