Well, I don't have any EXCITING plans to share like going on the Med repo or anything like that.

But...
Today I went to get Ruby's schedule (8th grade/middle school) and they had her schedule ALL messed up. they had her in each advanced class (in G&T) but with a teacher for each class that is in a different "team". Some of you may know that that means but if not- what it is... teachers are on a team. Like a science teacher, math teacher, eng./lg arts teacher, and history teacher- on a team. One of which is the "head" of the team- the person you "go to" if you need to plan a parent/teacher mtg, correspond with all or any of the teachers, etc. They are supposed to have all the teachers within a team- but they had her with each teacher in a different team! That totally wouldn't work- especially if I had to have a parent/teacher meeting (they wouldn't all have the same available time to come if they were all on different teams!) and I have no idea how I'd correspond with any teacher if they weren't on the same team (besides emailing seperately but it just doesn't work well that way- hard to explain).
But not only that- they put her in cheerleading and athletics as her 2 electives- they took her OUT of band and she's 1st chair wind ensemble this year! No way jose! (cheerleading is a class and is supposed to substitute athletics- apparently they had an uproar from tons of kids plus the band and choir directors because all the cheerleaders got stuck on cheerleading and athletics and nixed out of band or choir)
So she had to fix it all the way around. But fortunately Ruby IS with teachers in the same team now and she IS in cheerleading and band... no athletics. (she would like athletics but she's not giving up cheerleading or band and they can only have 2 electives, one has to be either athletics, PE or cheerleading).
We've got a busy couple of days ahead of us- preparing to go camping (near scuba dive lake here in Texas but a few hours from us) and Jeff is going to scuba dive with the Christian Divers of Texas this weekend. But unless we have some "issues", I should still be able to get online because I chose an RV park for us to 'camp' (hardly can call it camping in the luxury of the travel trailer- right?) that has things for me and the kids to do while he's scuba diving about 5mi away. Pool, spa, basketball court, fishing at the lake right there, tennis court, even a fenced area for pets to get exercise (yes, we're taking Tramp with us!) -- but also it has free DirecTv (that means kids can watch cable instead of just watching DVDs on the tv the entire time. Yeah-- disney Channels to keep them entertained late in the evenings!) AND it has free wifi. So I'll be bringing our laptops.
PLEASE PRAY that everything in our trailer still works. It's been sitting a few years totally unused (out at sister's land out in the country) and we have no way of testing to see if the a/c works, fridge, etc. because we don't have a way to hook it up to 30amp until we GET to the RV park... There ain't no way I'm going to spend a couple of nights in that tin box (my affectionate name for it. LOL) without a/c. We're in the 100's here nowadays! Yeah, I never said I was the camping type... LOL
Plus we'll be bringing food and cooking in the travel trailer- things have to work. Yanno? So please pray everything still works... it's just been sitting there. So I hope everything will still work...
I'm not exactly THRILLED to be going camping in the trailer- while Jeff will be scuba diving quite a bit while there... me alone with FOUR kids (yes, we're bringing an extra... niece that is Ruby's age). But the kids really wanted to go camping before school started and Jeff wanted to go scuba diving- so we're doing it all at once. The kids are excited- and HE'S excited- he gets to do a night dive too.
But if you DON'T hear from me this weekend- starting Friday because we have Ruby's orientation Friday afternoon (and she has to cheer for it too) and that evening/night we're going to the circus then heading straight for the RV park... then it means I couldn't get hooked up on the free wi-fi on our laptops for some reason. LOL
We'll be back Sunday night-but then we're going to Six Flags all day Monday! then next week is a flurry of school related stuff- orientations/etc. Ruby even has to be there (and cheer) for the 6th and 7th grade orientations on 2 different days that week too! Busy bees... busy bees. I'm sure everyone is all busy cramming in all they can for the summer plus preparing for the school year to start...
