HAPPY BIRTHDAY
MEGAN

YES! That's a dealy-bobber!! Sorry, I couldn't think of neck wrap. Having a senior moment or two. Or three.

That's OK Stace, I have those senior moments myself, more than I'd like to admit................:rotfl:

I think I am a member of the "klutsy club" also! :cool1: :rotfl:

I'm just accident prone - I regularly have bruises that I don't know where I got them. I run into stuff, fall off stuff (up stairs, off curbs, and so on) drop stuff, etc. It happens so frequently that I just say "Ow" and go on and then later am wondering where that latest bruise came from.

One of my most spectacular injuries was on our last DCL cruise (Jan 2007). We went snorkeling in Cozumel and were at the last stop. (We were with Eagle Ray so it was a small boat with just the 3 of us and 1 other couple.) I was sitting on the edge of the boat to put on my fins and then went to jump into the water - unfortunatly, I was right next to a pulled-up ladder and got my arm tangled in the rope on my way down. Amazingly, I did not break my arm - but I did a lot of damage to the muscle tissue and the bruising was incredible! DH was far more freaked out about it than I was - I get hurt so often that I tend to be pretty laid back about it! Actually, they tossed me a float-ring and I decided to continue the snorkle. I usually don't snorkle with a float or anything since I am a strong swimmer, but I kept the float with me for this one so I wouldn't have to use that arm! I figured floating around in the water was better than sitting on the boat in pain waiting for everyone else. I was so glad that I did - we saw amazing fish at that stop including a group of HUGE parrot fish (not usually seen in a group.)

After we got home, I went in to the doc and added another couple hundred to the cruise bill! :rotfl2:

Something to Consider

My draft account just got CLEANED OUT by a fraudulant / stolen card - they used the account number of an old gold card that had a bad magnetic strip which I cannot use - and I've replaced it with a platinum card pulling from the same checking account. When they issued the new platinum card I thought the bank cancelled that gold card .... but I guess they did not.

And on another note - I just repaired my external hard drive - WOO HOO - and I'll be combing thorugh my image archieves soon and maybe backing it up to a redundant (RAID) drive... that is once I acquire one! Which I'll be shopping for shortly!

With that I bid everyone a pleasant week and weekend!

Sorry about the card, but glad you repaired your external hard drive!

We are in the news this morning a plane crash into two homes in Sanford there R injuries.. and the news R saying they might be also fatalities.

Oh I haven't watched the news! That's terrible!

Good moring! Another hot one today, so take care.

Well life has taken a turn for the better. Closed on my dad's house last night. Everything went well. The stupid original document that I couldn't find and was stressing out about was never asked for!!!:scared1: At the end of the closing, my agent and I went to give the new owners the keys. The wife and I took one look at each other and we said, "I know you!" We did, she is a cashier at one of the gas stations I go to! Of couse I said, "Wow! It's a small world!" (Too much Disney on the brain!) Freaked everyone out.

So everyone all together now "It's a small world after all! It's a small world after all! It's a small world after all! It's a small, small world! " Betcha won't get that out of your head for the rest of the day. :dance3:

Glad you were able to close on the house & get that stress off your back!

Glad things are looking better....
I haven't ventured outside yet....it looks real warm!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Chrissie

It sure was a scorcher wasn't it? ;)

Been there do that...

Sprained my ankle really bad about 1.5 yrs ago by falling off a curb (yes "off" a curb). I was carrying a large box at the time and underestimated where edge was i think. I nearly bent my foot in two that time...

It started swelling up right away but i had to get up, put my stuff back in the box and still hobble/carry it to my car and drive to an appt for a Planning Dept submission.

In the county i used to work in, submissions were only by appointment and if you missed it, it would be another 3-4 weeks...

Ankle was purple by the time i got back to the office but luckily someone had an ice pack in the fridge.

I've also fallen down my front steps one day while we were having a yard sale. That leg i fell on was purple for a month after. I told people my DH hit me with the car. :rotfl:

OUCH!

Thanks for the cake, now I don't feel so left out. :thumbsup2 Cheryl was right she had to clean her computer screen after I got done licking the cake.

John

You're so welcome! Anytime!

MHman, all the ladies here are lookers.

(hope I saved you some trouble)

:lmao:

Lurkers perhaps?

Now that's a true diplomat for ya! Thanks Tom! I will take that compliment & run! :goodvibes

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for Megan.
11 years ago today I was a very scared woman. I had been hospitalized for 3 1/2 weeks "upside down" to try to get to where Megan would have a chance to live. Even though I was hospitalized that long they did not expect her to be born that day. My OB had told me from the beginning that she did not have a chance at life. I was determined to prove him wrong.
Anyway when we got to L&D a whole team was set up and waiting for her. As soon as she came out everything happened w/ incredible precision. She was 4 months early. Born at 24 weeks she was 1 pound 5 ozs, and 12 inches long (she is still tall and thin :) ).
Since I listened to my el stuoido Dr. I spent the whole day convinced every person who came in the room was going to tell me she died. They moved me to the Presidential Suite (huge and posh) so I would have more privacy.
We had some bumps. At 1 month and way less than 2 pounds her intestines burst. Almost died then too. But, once again her great medical team got her thru that hurdle. We ended up w/ 4 eye surgeries (2 on each eye), 4 or 5 separate intestinal surgeries and heart surgery. Oh yeah, when her intestines burst her heart valve did too.
She not only lived, but became an adorable very stubborn 11 year old. That stubbonness kept her alive and fighting.
Besides a couple of beauty marks (scars) she came out relatively unscathed.

Wow quite a story! So glad everything turned out great!

I think I am a member of the "klutsy club" also! :cool1: :rotfl:

Now that was brave of you! :thumbsup2 I'm a wimp! I think I would've sat on the boat & cried like a baby! :sad1:

I'm like you, I do it so often I don't even think about it. I would have stayed in the water too. Besides, it's cooler in there!

Pamela, you are a trooper . . .LOL .. I'm not going to let DH see your post. He worries about these kinds of things.

I'm a recovering klutz myself. Actually broke both bones in my arm by tripping over my own two feet when crossing our road . . .LOL. I was 12 yo! The good news is that with two boys, not much bothers me

Have a super day!

Aw, darn, I was hoping to come here and find that you all have been posting like mad and were close to the pirate. I've got to leave soon for my softball game. I doubt we'll get 150 or so posts in 15 minutes. And I'm sure you'll get there before I get home.

Go wenches....take what you can!

It was a pirate punch kindof day!? Ya know?! :upsidedow

chrissie

I'll be happy with anything that is COOL! It has been so hot here. Both DSs are in baseball camp at the local college this week. Each day they come home with a "baseball" tan . . :rotfl2: They are consuming more water then they ever thought possible. And it's now thundering and lightening and NOT raining!! Ugggghh . . my beautiful flower garden is wilting (not to mention the very brown grass . . .). Could someone send a bit of rain our direction . . . ? Maybe someone in TX or OK?? We don't want much . .just a few inches . . . so much for a busy hurricane season . . .

It's so nice to be home, sitting under the ceiling fan, as the cool air is blowing down on me!!! :thumbsup2
