8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 14

Next summer I plan on doing as little as possible!!!!!!!! I spent most of the day today with Elvis at rehearsal.......
It is always hard on us when Samantha is away -- she is such a great sister and daughter!!! But, this is her last year to get to go to camp as a camper. Last year she went for 2 wks... We are hoping that she can be a CIT and Elvis can go that week.

Every week that she isn't out of town she is working (she is saving money for our -- hers & mine -- trip to Korea & Austraila next July for World Youth Day) We are only going to be home a couple of weeks before we live for the TOAL! LOL!

Jon keeps reminding me to make sure I have everything (clothes wise) that the kids and I will need on our trip next month.... ACKKK!!!!

Jon andthe kids are waiting for me upstairs... so, I guess I ought to sign off soon! LOL!

I am a person who does not give too many speeches on the board. Some of you know me personally and know I am not very quiet!!! I just hate to type!!!

I just feel I need to tell JR, that he was like part of the family. Some one we will all miss. I really hope we did not have any influence on his decision to leave the board.

JR if you are still reading this board, the Chicago mini would still love to meet you and your family!!!!


I feel like we all lost the fight and some one came out a winner but it was not us!!!

I am not sure the whole story behind everything but at this point I respect everyone's opinion.

But anyway, I am not doing this at all anymore. I have handed all of the website info over to Tom to do whatever he wants with it. My wife and I decided to cancel this cruise last evening. It's been fun chatting with most of you.

Oh JR what can I say…. How about what I already stated, you have done far more with that site then ANYONE else and those complaining should keep their traps shut! This unfortunately is the curse of a volunteer, getting poopied on all the time! I hope that you didn’t cancel the cruise because of the BS… If that is so put the aggravators on ignore and enjoy the rest of us.. (assuming I am not one of the aggravators that is). Besides how can you resist M’s post about how smiley my kid is… it is a must see in person, pictures don’t do him justice!

As for the web site… 50 posts????? I feel like I am on here all the time posting and I have no where near 50!!! Does that make me a “lurker” or one of “those we don’t speak of”??? If so then I suppose someone can take a flying bite at this point! I lurked for over a year reading and enjoying the posts of others but felt I didn’t have much to add. HC mentioned the weight loss board for our cruise and that is what got me started. I actually joined the weight loss board and posted there first and just happened to reply on this board one day for fun. So back to the web site, the bottom line is, everyone wants it for info but people don’t want their info posted… OK well if you don’t want your info posted then don’t post and don’t get access! How hard is that. A simple I do not wish to participate in the web site for personal reasons should do it, no? Why drag others into it about why you don’t want to participate?? If someone wants to know your personal reason then it should be kept private so others don’t have to see it. I sat in chat last night and “listened” to people and their excuses about why they don’t want their info put on the site and that is just fine, there are some others who do not feel the same way… I can’t say that people are overly paranoid since it is a personal perspective but some of the crap I heard last night made me think. If you actually feel that someone is going to “hurt” you or bother you in any way then you need to get someone involved. I felt like I was being pushed into hating a group of people whom I have never met. There are some people who are new on here ant wanted to know what happened and it came out that this crap happened on a cruise in 2005!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That will have happened 3 YEARS before this cruise!! 3 YEARS!!! If people are still fussing over it then I have a suggestion…. Get over it!!! We should not be harping on things from 3 years ago and defiantly not telling new people of something bad that happened 3 years ago…People are leaving the board due to all this crap and canceling their cruises…. How sad is it….. Those “other” people are winning… and will continue to for the next 13 months!! How about focusing on the fun we can have and if these other people actually do try something , we think about how sad their lives are that they need to play these high school bully games! There are enough of us to put a quick stop to things.

It is getting to the point where I don’t want to read the board and I certainly don’t want to participate in chat! God knows who might be in there “lurking”. It is very funny how this board is watched over and bad words are cut out and things are kept PG… but no one seems to care about the hate and rudeness that is on here right now. I hope those who are having issues are ok with their children learning what they are teaching them. Maybe there would be two sites… one with all the info for all who are ok with it and one with the nothingness that people are ok with? Why can’t we do that, because again it would tick someone off and there would be more BS again….Or no one would step up like JR to make either page!

Will we cancel our cruise? No way, it’s a big ship, it would be nice to make new friends on here and on the ship… but it wont kill us if we don’t at this point! If I wanted craziness I would keep in touch with my fathers side of the family.. Sorry if I offended anyone. Now you can jump all over me since I have a fairly thick skin! Besides it might be a good time for a rest from the boards… 13 months is a long time away! Phew I think I’m done!

I would like to clarify that the things I mentioned last night did not happen 3 years ago but in the last 3 months. Also, I was asked why I did not want my info on the site and I gave my reasons. They are mine alone - you don't have to like them or agree with them, but they should be respected.

Also, I never complained about the website and was thankful to JR for what he did. I don't have the know-how or time to even begin building one.

We are all adults and entitled to our own opinions and must do what we feel is the best for our families. I have already said that because I don't feel comfortable with my personal info on the website then I don't want access to others.

At this point, I will not be posting on this thread for the foreseeable future, if ever again. There are many of you that I will miss and I hope you have a great cruise.

I can tell you I don't know what has happened over the last few weeks but this just dosen't seem to be the same happy, loving party, planning folks that were posting then. I only hope that whatever happened can be put away and more happy peacefulness put in it's place. I am with some of the other poster that if this negativity continues I will visit less and less. Here's to hoping that we can turn it around and let go of whatever it is that now has a hold on this thread. I would like to hear more about what folks are planing have found out about ports or the kids and pets at home.

Don't know just can't sleep tonight. I will pay for it tomorrow. Got to go into the office to try to get caught up. You know it is the end of the quarter and the year. Got to reach that quota. So I logged on to relax after 12 hours in the car...

notsomuch.

I've been avoiding this as much as I can, but I have to say that I don't have this much drama in my real life & I'm certainly not going to put up with it on vacation!

I'm going on a trip of a lifetime with my family. I am excited about that. Making new friends and having fun while planning is a nice bonus. Most of you guys seem great - I can even see making lasting friendships with many of you, but at the end of the day, if you all were to disappear, I would still be looking forward to this trip with my husband and my boys. It surprises me that not everyone sees it that way.

I don't want this to get shut down, most of us are enjoying ourselves. I really hope that we can get out of this rut soon and get back to having fun. I don't know how to make that happen, but if I could, believe me, I would.

Wow, I have a quick look at things while I am on vacation and the what the heck has happened around here? JR that was nice of you to step in and FINISH the work on the web site--apparently all the security issues weren't addressed before it was made public. That was the big hold up on the web site to begin with, wasn't it?

I am also sorry that you have cancelled your cruise--I know that it is never an easy decision. But life does have a way of happening and changing things for us.

I haven't been posting much at all lately and try to make it to chat when I can. But I tell you the wind needs to change over here, it used to be a lot of fun to read and post, but it has been different for awhile. I sure hope it changes back to the fun board it used to be by fall when I will once again have the time to be an active poster.

OK I'll say it...GABBIE GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE.........there is more here than just JR. There is Todd and all his Graphics work...There WAS Lisa, till some chased here away, there is Judy who set up the First Page and Countless others who have tried to help. Yes JR should get a thank you for his work but PLLLEEASEEE get off it because your not sounding very smart right now to the the rest of us that have helped or supported and know of these people who have performed other functions on this thread.

Of course maybe your really ***** and just trying to start something....after all you said you had under 50 posts....
