Woo! Hoo! :cool1: :cool1: I got my freak pirate flag up!

Great looking freak flag!!!!:woohoo: The hard part was make it an aavatar!!Right??

Just waiting to hear from somepeople about the meet. Please pm your phone number!!!Soooo much easier to talk in real person on the phone!!!!:thumbsup2 I hate typing!!!!! I love talking!!!!

Yes, the private room can hold only 14 people around the table and there is only room for one table. Here is a picture from December 2006 when our pal Mary Ann (magiroux) arranged for all of us to eat there. I'm the good looking guy in the picture and SWMBO is next to me, and actually smiling. :rotfl:

dis_at_brunch.jpg

Okay JR, Arlene and I had fun trying to figure who was who.:confused3 It all was a process of elimination.:rotfl2: We decicded to just wipe you out of your own picture. I wish I knew how!!!:goodvibes

Just waiting to hear from Pamela and Tina (cast off) about meet!!:cool1:

That's funny is this photo he looks alot like my husband. His hair even does that wavy thing when his bangs get too long.

Lisa, Brack, Todd, Caroline - Don't you agree?

Okay Kristina, post a picture of DH so we can see if the world really does have TWO JR's. :rolleyes1

How did you know? IT took me the longest time figuring out the avatar!

Looked at our calendar and both of the weekends we have stuff. :sad1: The weekend of the 14th-15th is dd's softball turny and picnic and the next weekend we will be at WDW! Keep us in mind if you have another.

Wow, the sky is all dark, we are in for some rain.

a) he assumes being called a 'geek' is an insult
b) he assumes I actually read his posts. :rotfl:

Now we know you read his posts . . . and I think "geek" was being used descriptively (does anyone else in that picture remotely resemble that word -- I don't think so!) so the idea that he was insulting you must have come from within, JR . . . obviously that's not the first time you've heard that word and yourself in the same sentence!

By the way. Has anyone seen Andy anywhere on the boards???Hope everything is ok:confused3

I've seen Andy post in the postcard thread. I know he was dealing with dial up while visiting his mom, but I think he may be back home now. Not sure.

HEY BIP - forgot to quote your post, but glad you stopped by to say hi. Sounds like the party was great fun.

I'm in a bit of a quandry this week. My ST has been quite stinky as of late and I'm debating whether or not he'll make it on the Med cruise. I've already got someone willing to watch him if I leave him behind. And I've talked to my mom about going with me instead of my ST. It's just that this entire time I've really looked forward to taking my son to Europe. There's so much history that I'd love for him to see. But...he really doesn't deserve a trip like this right now. I need to make a decision this week. There's only 6 weeks before we leave....whoever I end up leaving with

Hi Monica -- make the decision on what will make you have a better trip -- if YOU really will enjoy taking him to Europe, regardless of whether he deserves it or even seems to appreciate it (and he might not seem to when he really does), then take him. On the other hand, if his attitude will prevent you from enjoying the vacation, don't take him. Don't lose sight that this is your trip, you are paying for it, and you deserve to enjoy it!

No, Tom the Lawyer was trying to insult me (in a playful way, not maliciously, hence his adding the "(joking)"). But his attempt fell flat for the reason you mention. Being called a geek would never insult me.

The 'don't read his posts' was about how I completely missed his remark the first time. The way you know that is I would have retorted in kind with something like:

a) Mr. Pot, meet Mr. Kettle
b) Jealous that I own a tie and know how to tie it?
c) Aren't you supposed to be on vacation? Are you having so little fun you'd rather be posting on the Internet? :lmao: :lmao:

:wizard: HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATHAN!!!:wizard:

Thank you all for Nathan's birthday wishes! I guess I have to change my LilyPie tag now that he's another year older.

Yes, I got him Crocs. The first pair were the thong style and they were too big (even though they were his size) so instead I got him some of the "regular" style Crocs. But not just any...DIS green Mickey Crocs!

6901-359877-p.jpg

DDad hates Crocs but at this point, it's more about proper foot support for his growing feet...or as DDad explaimed: "Wow you have some biiiiiiig feet! Function is more important than form...but in this case, we can have both :hippie:

Of course come time for the TOAL he'll probably have his own preferences and will want something else...maybe even POTC Crocs...

I got photos of him in his new Crocs and Keen sandals but they are mainly a blur as he was too busy running around and crawling in his new Habitrail for kids...

Luckily he was soooo tired from running around that and the breakfast playground at the mall:
20031012-breakfast-playground.jpg

that he didn't put up a fuss at bedtime when I took his shoes off. Normally he pitches a royal
hissyfit.gif
fit when you attempt to take off his new shoes!

So now I'm back at work but I think it's going to be a rather short day as nobody is here! Seems that 3 or 4 people are out sick, on travel or took the nice day off. Had I known that I wouldn't have bothered coming in!

:bday:
Happy Birthday Scott, Karen and all the others this week!
:bday:

That playgorund is almost like It's A Bugs Life at MGM! Happy belated birthday to your little guy.

Entertaining... now I'm off. Gettin' a mite bit hectic now as we're heading off to Yosemite for the weekend + a part day maybe at Sequoia. I will probably be on little to zero in the days to come. I bid everyone a fond farewell til next we meet again over the ether or the web.

And with that I'll drop a quick 7 questions... QUICK.

1) Do you consider yourself a ROMANTIC?

2) What makes you a romantic (or not) - EG an example please

3) Your favorite movie to dislike - and confessions as to why?

4) Your favorite movie for reasons which "move" you or oyour feelings...

5) What does your spouse, SO or special best friend* love to dine on - not you.

6) And what was the favorite movie of your spouse, SO or special best friend*?

7) And - if you won the Special Person of day thing entering DIsnyland, WDW or if they did it on a Disney ship - and you could choose a special thing to do - what would it be?

NOTE... although a question or two may seem a repackaging of an earlier posed 7 question option earlier in the year - remember - this is an exercise in whimsical escape - a moment taken to reflect on places far far away with warm sands, cool drinks, pleasant conversation and not a distraction on the horizon. SOunds a lot like a Corona TV commercial, eh? Minus the beer. AND the * can include a canine or feline pal - or any pet if a pet fits the circumstances best. Good luck defining a pets' movie preferences and such!

Oh... and JR... I would consider a nerd remark as a bit of a vieled compliment among some - myself included - as I think of the worlds' wealthiest person (Gates) to be both a Nerd and a Pirate. All the nerds I know enjoy various combinations of intellectual brillance, financial success, creative brilliance and insightful depth. What they tyically do not boast of is a great golf game, familiarity with sporting history or athletic prowess., among other manly things the jocks boast of. Oh well... many considered me a nerd when I was younger - and I left them far far behind in some ways - while in others - they lead... like in knowledge of football stats.... which I care littel about.

No barbs directed, eh? 31Tom... as I kno we're all just poking fun! RIght? <chuckles>

good afternoon everyone! hope you are having a good week! a hot/dry one here...

Monica , the memorys of the Med trip will last a Lifetime and he will remember that too , him being a ST will only last for a little while ...I know the position your in cause I have been there with my ST .....Too me , I would rather have the memories and photos of a wonderful trip and experience . Education alone on this trip would be worth it for him to go , then maybe when he sees some of the different ways of living he will appreciate what he has ...could be a nice turning point for him ....

Good Luck in whatever you decide , I know its tuff ...

What a great playground!

That playgorund is almost like It's A Bugs Life at MGM! Happy belated birthday to your little guy.

Yeah that one is much nicer than the one closest to home. But the one near home is closed for rennovation so who knows what it'll look like when they are done.

This breakfast one is nice and spacious. There's a little more than shown in the picture. You can see a part of the bowl in the upper right corner...it's a cereal bowl with giant shredded wheat clusters in it! :teeth:

The whole area is a soft spongey flooring, the play items are padded vinyl/plastic and the place is very clean. The shut it down every 2-3 hours and a crew comes in to vacuum and disinfect all the play surfaces. The first time we saw it we were amazed at all these kids running to and fro with nary a collision nor broken limb occuring! Our only two complaints: parents who let their kids run around with their shoes on and parents who allow their older kids to play there. Okay, so our little guy is 2 but I'm thinking the upper limit at which kids would want to play on such things would be about 7 or 8. But we've seen kids who could be shaving playing in there! :sad2:

That's what's making this so hard. I know that this would benefit him in many ways. But, as a friend pointed out, I could take him another time. If I were to take my mom, this may be the last chance I'd get to travel with her. And she's never been to Europe.

DD would go nuts for the breakfast play ground. She has a thing for bacon! On our last cruise, she asked for more bacon and our server brought a heaping plate full!

Yep, my kid would definitely want to play in there. He's 11 but the size of a 13 or 14 yr old. I have to fight with him every time we're in the mall because he wants to play in there, and even sees other big kids playing.
