No, Tom the Lawyer was trying to insult me (in a playful way, not maliciously, hence his adding the "(joking)"). But his attempt fell flat for the reason you mention. Being called a geek would never insult me.
The 'don't read his posts' was about how I completely missed his remark the first time. The way you know that is I would have retorted in kind with something like:
a) Mr. Pot, meet Mr. Kettle
b) Jealous that I own a tie and know how to tie it?
c) Aren't you supposed to be on vacation? Are you having so little fun you'd rather be posting on the Internet?
Entertaining... now I'm off. Gettin' a mite bit hectic now as we're heading off to Yosemite for the weekend + a part day maybe at Sequoia. I will probably be on little to zero in the days to come. I bid everyone a fond farewell til next we meet again over the ether or the web.
And with that I'll drop a quick 7 questions... QUICK.
1) Do you consider yourself a ROMANTIC?
2) What makes you a romantic (or not) - EG an example please
3) Your favorite movie to dislike - and confessions as to why?
4) Your favorite movie for reasons which "move" you or oyour feelings...
5) What does your spouse, SO or special best friend* love to dine on - not you.
6) And what was the favorite movie of your spouse, SO or special best friend*?
7) And - if you won the Special Person of day thing entering DIsnyland, WDW or if they did it on a Disney ship - and you could choose a special thing to do - what would it be?
NOTE... although a question or two may seem a repackaging of an earlier posed 7 question option earlier in the year - remember - this is an exercise in whimsical escape - a moment taken to reflect on places far far away with warm sands, cool drinks, pleasant conversation and not a distraction on the horizon. SOunds a lot like a Corona TV commercial, eh? Minus the beer. AND the * can include a canine or feline pal - or any pet if a pet fits the circumstances best. Good luck defining a pets' movie preferences and such!
Oh... and JR... I would consider a nerd remark as a bit of a vieled compliment among some - myself included - as I think of the worlds' wealthiest person (Gates) to be both a Nerd and a Pirate. All the nerds I know enjoy various combinations of intellectual brillance, financial success, creative brilliance and insightful depth. What they tyically do not boast of is a great golf game, familiarity with sporting history or athletic prowess., among other manly things the jocks boast of. Oh well... many considered me a nerd when I was younger - and I left them far far behind in some ways - while in others - they lead... like in knowledge of football stats.... which I care littel about.
No barbs directed, eh? 31Tom... as I kno we're all just poking fun! RIght? <chuckles>
