OK, I know that they are not groundhogs but Mary could use some animation today.

Ahhh...but a rodent is a rodent is a rodent.....

Yeah! I'm glad we agree:)

"Mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce, whooooooo!"

Peter

Have you seen the latest Rugby results??

Wales were VERY unlucky against Australia and having seen South Africa wipe-out England it reinforces the obvious fact that USA will have no chance of getting anywhere in the World Cup.

In the Sevens today, Wales beat England 22-0 :yay: :cheer2: :yay:

The world rankings however, remain unchanged.

Hi Steph

I used to have AOL but hated (not a word I use lightly) it. I'd have around 40 e-mails each day and about 36 were spam. :sad2:

David

You know...

... that AOL was cited as having had 1000s of 1000s of their client /customer records sold on the black market by semi-moral hackers! They are semi-moral because they did not sell anything personal (credit cards or birthdate stuff) ... except for the AOL email addresses. The perpetrator whom they caught was cited as having only made a few $100K from resale of the records.

THAT is why when I logged onto my brothers' computer I noted all this porn spam that I politely inquired why he had so much of this on this account? He had no idea... and I said... "yeah... RIGHT".... as in HOW on Earth would they get your address?

Supposedly they've cleaned it up a little - though I'm skeptical. Security bearches like that are SUCH a disappointment.

Here's a link to ONE article on a security breach in 2000. However I recall the BIG security breach at AOL was more recent. http://news.com.com/2100-1023-242034.html

I have an aol account that I have had so long that my screen name is actually my real name -- there weren't many people getting email addresses back then (wow I sound about 100 right now but it was only about 10-12 years ago, I think)! I don't consider it my primary email anymore, but keep it for much the same reason mentioned above -- I've had it so long it might be the only way for some people to find me again, etc. However, a few years ago the spam was getting so bad that I had to temporarily block all mail except for preapproved email addresses I put on a list -- a big pain, and of course some people ended up not to be on the list and didn't get through. But after about a year I released the block and have never had a bad spam problem again. My guess is that all the spammers ended up marking this address as no good because of that block.

I read that spammers use e-mail address generators so it's pure chance whether you get some spam :confused3 but there was only so much I could take with continuous e-mails offering me Viagra !!!

Was it just too insulting? Or tempting . . .

Because you were jealous that he didn't share? ;)

My dad has had AOL for I don't know how long nad can't shake them loose. It's like the Crackberry! He finally went to DSL because he wanted to see photos of the grandson--and not take 45 min each on the dial up. Geez, that sounds soooooo yesteryear! Anyway, he's got AOL still because now they let you use whatever access and still log into the service. Problem is because he has AOL and they do certain things for him, he doesn't really know how to function on a non-AOL machine. And let me tell you I'm not installing that virus on my computer when they come visit for DS' birthday in a few weeks! :sad2:

May I humbly submit that you pull the addresses of hard to reach people and DUMP AOL... and go to something free like Gmail...

I've asked Helen and she confirms that it was extremly insulting.:)

David :rolleyes1

Well, what would we expect YOU to say that HELEN said . . . but, fine, we'll accept that answer!

I said it wasn't my primarily email anymore!!!!! In fact, I have two other email addresses, and for that matter AOL is even free now too. I just check the AOL every now and then to see if I got any emails from random people from the past (my best friend from high school emails me about every two years, for example).
