Happy Birthday!!!

tn_100_1339w.jpg

Had to pirate: this awesome cake! Happy Birthday all!!!

And I guess I'm lucky as my spouse does not seem to have many things that are expensive which she wants. Well... there was THAT RED Chanel suit that I nixed a few years ago that she still complains about... it was on clearance at the Sax 5th Ave outlet store for something like $400... marked down from... $5000. And I said "no" as $400 was still a lot and she litterally has dozens of business suit sets. And she gripes a few times every year. I think she just likes to poke me with the missed opportunity that represented as to find a Chanel suit that can fit a size ZERO (or 2, depending on the cut) suit from a real designer like Channel is a once in a Blue Moon thing.

pinkblksuit.jpg

OK I am gonna agree with your wife here.................If you could have afforded the suit at the time---you should have gotten it. Great quality suits for men and women cost a lot. (Now I am not into names and such with clothes, but that sounds like it would have been something that she would have gotten use out of and not just hung in the closet, like a suit would be for me):)

So on Chinese School... I have to confess that when I was a kid my Mom tried to enroll me in the same thing. I balked and complained because all the kids spoke Chinese and I could not understand most of the other dialects spoken. HUGE MISTAKE on my part .... as if I went I would be multi-lingual with a plethoria of dialects. My family used to run an imported furniture business and we'd travel on buying trips to China and HK. The language skills I could have refined in Chinese school would have been of incalculable value if I ever wanted to do any business again in China today. Frankly, having grown up in that business (25 years my parents ran it) I still tell my spouse today that I would really ENJOY starting and running an import business again. Alas, my spouse tells me NEVER AGAIN will she allow me to work in a 7 day a week business. She likes her vacation and family time that comes with regular jobs. And the business I run now is extremely laid back with significant free time. If I started a funiture business like the one my parents had I would keep it open 365 days a year ... like my parents ... and I would enjoy running it! I miss the horse trading and handling live cash.

Hind sight is always 20/20. Tom, I totally understand about you wanting to get into a more hands on business. But I know how time consuming a 365/24 business can be. I love retail (not when gas prices are sky rocketing, but that is an entirely different problem. I just tell my customers to be thankful they are buying it a tankful at a time and not a tanker truck!) It is very demanding and you can tell in big difference in owner ran locations than absentee ones. The biggest and hardest issue is trust. I can't tell you how many employees over the years I have prosecuted--and I do prosecute. I can picture you being in your glory running your own store! But, I can also relate to the missed family time I have endured over the years because of my stores. I am enjoying working with DS now--he still doesn't put in a lot of hours because of school. I hope that he gets "the bug" and one day buy at least one of them from us.

It seems that your home business gives you so much quality time with your girls! The interaction you are sharing with them is priceless--enjoy it! Hopefully one day you will have your "whole dream" and get to "horse trade" and handle the green backs. But the thing with cash and employees is sometimes it is not a great fit! I have gone to a system where the employees have to enter their code and deposit into bill readers, armored car picks up. I never have to count money!!!!!! I came to the conclusion a long time ago (I think in my bank teller days) that if it doesn't get to go into my personal bank account it is just green paper! No thrill at all unless I get to keep all of it.

Hope you enjoyed your pool day! You got an awesome deal on the float--amazing how things work out sometimes.:)

Here it is with all the warts and bumps. Didn't have the patience to edit it. I did try to capture the banner on the top deck, but I really lost it due to the sun being in front of me . But hope you enjoy this amateur video. Oh the end when she was in the ocean, she just sat there for a long while not moving. I would've stayed a bit longer but there was man sleeping on the bench next to me and I was afraid he was going to wake up and see me standing over him:rotfl:

Thanks so much for that. Can't wait to bring her home. Are you going to get there early morning on Sep 1 when Todd and I bring her home???

I love sea days! :thumbsup2 I could easily do 6 or more days at sea (could be my Navy days when we stayed at sea for weeks at a time!) ;)

A couple of years ago I researched a cruise from Hawaii to Singapore that was going to take 28 days with most of them at sea! I just couldn't swing the time off.

28 days that would be a little difficult to swing! Retirement please hurry so we can take our long drawn out vacations!!

I love the sea days too!!!!!!!

JC Penny had a 70% off gold jewelry. Bought a nice necklace 14K gold on one side and white gold on the other side. $1,099.00 on sale for 299.00 plus $10 coupon. $289.00

Disney sent us a 20% off coupon for the Disney store at the mall. Bought the baby four outfits. All in all a great day. :cool1:

Sounds like you had a productive trip to the mall:goodvibes

We didn't get our new CC cards this week but we did get our luggage tags for our WDW visit on the 6th of June. This will be the shortest WDW trip we've taken in years but it is our first DVC stay. :goodvibes

I didn't realize at first there were CC cards in the mailing I received. Brack, I hope you enjoy your 1st of many DVC stays. I love to hear "Welcome Home" when I check in.:)

Arlene, that's so cool. I've always wanted to go see the ship off. Can't wait to see the video.

Thanks Arlene! I really wanted to do one of those repo sailings....................makes me sad in a way. I can only hope that there is a miraculous discount for airfare in August:)

Finally had some time to fool around with the scanner and photobucket, here is ds communion pic

Maureen, those are great pics!!:)

But maybe we can then get our health insurance to cover the cost of the "therapeutic" cruise.
:thumbsup2

I think we all need a little help with our OMD. Do you think the insurance companies believe we are really suffering with Obsessive Mouse Disorder.

It's bad enough they are coming for a week in August before we fly out to WDW. :headache:

You may laugh but today they nearly cancelled their holiday to Majorca as the holiday comapny decided to change the hotel without telling them. Only when my MiL phoned to request a low floor she found out that the hotel didn't even have a booking.

They went straight to the Travel Agents and on my advice got an upgraded hotel (4*) and £100 ($200) compensation - IN CASH !!!!!

David

That should be a plus with the in-laws.:thumbsup2

  YEAH YEAH YEAH   We are officially booked on the cruise now!!!!!! pirate: I just wanted to share that with everyone! I was so excited to log into DCL and see our names there!!! Thank You Andy!!!!! :

Well I am off to bed, we are going to the Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mt. Georgia tomorrow. I've never been but it looks like alot of fun! http://www.animalsafari.com You get to feed and pet all kinds of animals. I think Mac will really love it.

:tinker: I hope everyone has Magical Dreams!!! :tinker:

Glad you made it onboard offically!!! :cool1:

Darn, the one time in several weeks that I've found some time for chat and you all cut out early!

I think we were all to tired to stay up last night.

Must have been a very quiet chat tonight. I was also there late and it appears everyone had already called it a night. Sorry I missed you Monica, I would have enjoyed catching up with you!

There were quite a few people but I gave up around 10 midwest time. I saw two movies just before chat and eyes were killing me.

Presently 70 going up to 87 today here in Sunny Central Florida

Happy Birthday Peter, Ashton, & Sarah

party: :bday: party: :bday:

Have a great Saturday.. we are going to Epcot for the Flower & Garden and to see Davy Jones............Yeah Yeah

I am doing a little pirate: ing to wish everyone a Happy Birthday!!!

I am also jealous Liz. I loved the Flower & Garden at Epcot. I did manage to go down to Florida twice to see it. Seeing is believing how beautiful the park is.

Why would he want an election - he doesn't have to. In Britain, we don't elect a Prime Minister, we elect a Government.:)

David

We really don't elect here either. We have the electorial college vote.

It isn't any better here. The "people" don't elect the President either.:sad2:

How true but sad.:sad2: I think the election should be popular vote but not that I am talking politics.:rolleyes1 I think the electorial college served its purpose years ago.

Arlene, great video! :cool1: Can't wait for the Magic to get to LA so I can be one of the photographers.

I am beat! No, wait - BEAT!

Left the house at 0630 to work the health fair. Headed to Cub Scout camp by 1. LOOONNNGGG awards and bridge crossing ceremony (80 scouts). I'm now the proud Scout Mommy of a Wolf & a Bear. I got the "You Must Be Nuts Award" for serving as Tiger leader 2 years in a row (first grade boys - 11 of them!) Then we had a pack rocket launch. I happy to report that the rockets we build last night actually worked! Rocket building is usually Dad's department.

Then DS8 had baseball practice 4:30-6:30. We ate takeout Chinese & now I am DISing with a glass of wine. AAAaaaahhhhhhh.

Heading back for ketchup....

Your day sure beat the heck out of my nice relaxing day of pampering (didn't fit my color in though):)

Peter / darthrugby

A few pages back I recall you saying that you were making an Elizabeth Shaw costume; here's my DD7 Bethan in her costume on the 10 Night Southern Caribbean last September.

img011.jpg

She loves that dress (but not the bonnett) and will be bringing it to WDW for a Princess and Pirate party this August princess:

David

The picture brings back fond memories David. You think the costume will still fit her for the PC???:confused3 Did Helen make the outfit??? I thought was beautiful and an orginal costume.

Bright sunshiny day here, low humidity, with temps around 80*F!!! :goodvibes

Sorry to bring bad news but I think you are getting our cold front. We went down to the low forties and high of 62 today.:sad2:

Pay no attention to me here...I'm just trying to test something. Yes, I know, I could go test it on the tech board, but those guys are all too smart for me and might make fun of me. I KNOW no one here would do that.

We love you no matter what Stace.:grouphug:

Awww...thank you. At least I can enjoy something for the fruits of my labor!

Was there an update? What did you en up doing last night to celebrate?

For those of you who haven't a clue who Scooch are.............

scooch2.jpg

OMG! Are those the flight attendants on the handbasket to h***???

Your day sure beat the heck out of my nice relaxing day of pampering (didn't fit my color in though):)

Go ahead rub it in.
There willl be time for relaxing and pampering when I am dead!

Actually, I think pampering stresses me out more than days like today do!

Not nice sending DIS stalkers to check on the teen!! ;)

:rotfl2:
Oh, that is going to come in handy on the ship!
Forgot to mention - we are getting a BABW in Anchorage - 'Coming Summer 2007' at the mall.

Here's a video clip - look for the hot link on this page... http://www.telechargement-mp3-gratuit.com/clip-video-scooch/ You might have to enable the ACTIVE-X block that should appear on the top edge of your screen... look for it.

That just sounds like a lot of work for what I suspect will not be a great payoff.
