Why....? I was 17 when i left for college. (Oct birthday) It's really no big deal... The only year it really mattered was Junior/Senior year as every one was turning 21 and going to the bars. There was even one girl in my class who had a March b-day (meaning she was 5 months even younger than me.)

All my friends in college had to celebrate their "22nd" birthday since they had been getting in the bars under age for so long....

Hey wait....I call shower #1 in Women's spa room..... (It's really convienent to run/elevator up there from my room) Much roomier than the bathroom in the cabin.

If you run up everytime, there will be no worry about gaining weight on the cruise.:lmao:

:grouphug: Sorry for your loss.

Just to let you know--and the mortuary should know this:
The only service that will (knowingly) transport cremains is the Postal Service. They must be in a leakproof container and sent via REGISTERED MAIL!! We sent DFIL back to Delaware in his military urn from Mainely Urns
57561-2.gif

which we bought online. Hey, his urn with US Army medallion was $99 online vs. $350 from the mortuary! By law they have to let you use your own if you provide one. Actually, the mortuary lady told us that if we had wanted one of those porcelain looking vases then we should just go to Pier 1 and get one of theirs for 25% of what she would charge us!

Anyway, FIL's urn fit right nicely into one of those flat-rate USPS Priority Mail shipping boxes. This was handy because had we paid by weight, we would have paid triple the postage fees. Our friend who got the box said the mail carrier was sweating bullets because of all the stickers: REGISTERED MAIL, INSURED, DELIVERY CONFIRMATION etc. In case you didn't know, registered mail has to be sealed and postmark stamped on all edges, corners and seams! The carrier thought the box had gold or something!

My cousin mailed my aun'ts cremains form WY to OH. I thought she couldn't even Fedex them! Didn't know the USPS would knowingly do it. Than my other cousin didn't pick them up and had my uncle dropped them off on her front porch! Learn something new everyday. The box is alot heavier than you would think. We took my mom's cremains to OH and now my dad's cremains have been scattered in VA.

Interesting,...

... I for some reason have found myself reading out thread from the very beginning and it was WINDERMEREJUDY who came up with the name of our thread!

Cheers and compliments to Judy!:thumbsup2

Yes...cheers to Judy....for changing it. Originally, it had some reference to me "celebrating" (??) my 50th birthday next year! :faint:

Hey i'll be up there anyway..... I'm one of the few who actually used the gym last 7 day cruise...

I loved to walk on the treadmill and watch the ocean go by.....

I took a spinning class or two that trip too....

I don't think my wife would take the cruise without me. At least, I don't think she would....

All five of us Moms are taking the cruise w/o OUR husbands.....she could join us:thumbsup2

Will we miss them? Not in the least. :rotfl:

Warning bad news post so please read at your own risk! :sad2:

I hesitate to post this here, mainly because I hate bringing this thread down & you are all having such fun, but since I did let you all know that I had to fly down to Florida as soon as we got back from HHI, because my mother had yet another blockage in her heart & I think it's only fair I keep you updated. We since found out it she was inoperable due to her age (77), emphazema, etc. & unfortunately she passed away yesterday. I am truly okay & at peace, especially since I got to say my goodbyes a few weeks ago. The last time I spoke with her was on was fittingly on Mother's Day. She is in a way better place than she had been in a very long time & truly she kept saying she was tired & she just wanted to go. She was back & forth from a rehab hospital to a regular hospital. She was on her death bed one minute & fine the next. :confused3 She went back in the hospital Sunday due to congestive heart failure. They had her sitting in the chair yesterday & she asked to lay down because she was not feeling well & she died shortly after. The nurses say she passed peacefully. She is to be cremated & her remains sent up here for burial with my father. We are hoping for a graveside service next weekend so I probably won't be on much next week. But really I am fine & in fact had posted as usual yesterday, shortly after finding out. I was enjoying all the POC intrigue & didn't want to interrupt. ;)

:grouphug: Diane: sorry for your loss:grouphug:

Hello! We are booked on this cruise as well. There are 4 of us...myself, husband, DD age 12 (now) and DS age 9 (now). I sent an email to the address on the first page, but haven't heard anything back. We took our first Disney Cruise on March 24, 2007 on the Magic and are hooked. We had an amazing time. We are really looking forward to the trip. We would also like to get the kids connected with some friends ahead of time. :wizard:

Hi -
I'm packiing - my son-in-law is graduating college tomorrow & then we're off to Las Vegas to celebrate - he's a Monty Python fan so we're seeing "Spamalot"

I really am dis-addicted - I am bringing my laptop along! LOL! Along w/champagne and a triple chocolate cake!
Will miss chat yet again - one of these days.....I keep saying that!

Cheers!

Have a great time Chris! Congrats to your son-in-law:)

Cool tat! I vote for Coolest Dad (for having the integrity to keep your word), and maybe a little of Biggest Fool - for not thinking it completely through. :rotfl2:

Though her accomplishment is certainly worthy of something like this. What an awesome achievement!

I dunno we got some mighty big hams around here. I think the Captn may need his long sword.

What!!??? You mean I can't trust 500 of my closest DIS friends to keep my secret??!!!

Uh... They all start with a capital letter??

Oh man! We have Fantasmic dinner ressies for that night. You're not telling me that I'm going to have to rearrange my schedule are you? :scared1:

We're at OKW - if you prefer a BBQ...

Oh! Unless we do the meet mid-day during rest time??? Pool hopping over to WLV would be fun. We've never been there and I've always wanted to check it out.

Well, let me know.

BLAST!! I'm 15 minutes late for a meeting! Gotta run!

E!

What we did last time was spend most of the afternoon at the pool and DISer's came early and late. So if you want to come in the afternoon we will be there. I start drinking, I mean setting up around 1-2pm so any time after that. Let me know if this is good for you:)

Perhaps its comments like that (and once every ten years) that lead to the early demise. He didn't say if the grandmothers were in jail for offing the offending spouse? :lmao:

No, but the women say they don't live longer than their husbands. It just SEEMS longer.

There really is a gym on the ship? I'd heard rumors about it, I've never seen it.

Well, my wife loves me. (At least that's what she says). I think it's more like she wouldn't want to take the three kids on the ship by herself.

I'm glad you'll be setting up early as I "might" have the grandkids with me.

Is anyone else planning to be down here this summer?

OK...

... my spouse has me watching an ebay listing thats' closing in a little under an hour... MBTs again. Am I gonna win it or not under HER limit?

Those just look sooooo uncomfortable! I'll take my chances with cellulite or whatever it is that they are supposed to prevent.

Of course, I am the flip flop queen. I only wear athletic shoes when I am working out. That's about as long as I can stand having them on my feet.

That is very true. I remember trying to go to sleep debating about whether or not to put DD in the 2 year PS or hold her back a year. I know that her staying with the cut off date means that she will start college at age 17!!! :scared1: She may have to spend a year at a local CC. With so many kids being held back just because that means that she is in class with kids up to 2 years older than she is. When she starts to date it wont be a matter of what grade is he in...it will be how old is he. How strange will it be to not allow her to date a Senior when she is a Senior? OY!

I remeber my mom freaking out a bit when DH started calling my house. I was a freshman and had just turned 14 by a few weeks. DH was a sophomore & it freaked her out that he would be driving soon!

In the end she wanted to adopt him. I figured he would make a better husband than a brother, and the rest is history.

Here's the new Furr Baby:dogdance:

AAAWWWWWWWWWWW! Too cute!

Me too. I remember sending paperwork home for my parents to sign since I wasn't legally an adult! Being the last to turn 21 didn't stop me from going out drinking - it just made me 'most likely to get arrested' for a few years.
The real bummer was that my late birthday combined with finishing early, I graduated from college 6 weeks after I turned 21! :scared1:

Is anyone else planning to be down here this summer?

We can't make a decision until we have a house, but we are planning for late July. We'll get to DC around July 14, take a week or so to find a house and head to WDW for a few days while we wait for our household goods to arrive.
