Good afternoon/ Good evening.
Hope you are all well.
Hi Andrew, Your problay good for the evening so when you see this Good Morning.:goodvibes

Well, this might have been one of the quickest prom dates in history. I guess when the young man heard that he had to meet the parents of his "date to be" he remembered that he had other plans for that evening. Sorry, but our ST doesn't go out with "ANYONE" unless we meet him first.

Actually, Angelina is a bit relieved, the only reason she was going to go was because her friend set up the date.
:thumbsup2 Good for you Andy ! That was a red flag. I know we will be doing the same thing when I let Brooke date at 35.:rotfl2:

I had 2 Bichon Frises. That's my Rosee (Yes the spelling is correct, her real name is Gypsy Rose E after the "dancer") in my avatar. We lost her in September to cancer. She would have been 10 this June. We also have Budde (actual name Budd E Bear). He will be 9 on May 27. While I'm on the TOAL, the breeder has agreed to take care of him for me as she will do while I'm in the Med. He loves it there. She has 5 of her own, so he gets lots of play time! I'd post a picture of him, but not sure how. My daughter figured out the Avatar thing for me!

We were deciding between the 2 breeds. Bichon & Maltese. The Maltese won out but I think they are very simliar. Rosee is beautiful. Sorry for your loss.:rose:

:woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Well I was bored here at work (bored = not wanting to do the work I'm supposed to be doing ;)) and decided to check out the vacation calculator. Some guy at another facility was trying to test out his knowledge of Active Server Pages and Dynamic HTML and created a vacation forcasting calculator. You enter your current vacation hours balance, effective date of those hours, Service Date and sick leave eligibility anniversary date. The site
then displays a weekly bar graph that shows your furture vacation balance for the next 18 months! You can also click on a bar and enter the number of hours of vacation you'll be taking that week and the future bars will automatically adjust.

Based on my years of service and current vacation balance, I will have maxed out my vacation time at 272.000 hours by the time we set sail! :woohoo: Of course I'll be taking vacation days prior to that...use it or loose it! :cool2:

We have to take all of our vacation each year or lose it. The really good thing for me working in the Finance Department is that our rules require all employees and Officers in Finance to take all of their vacation each year!

We get 5 weeks each year so it can be tough but we do it. Annual passes and DVC help! :goodvibes

Now my only problem is I can't figure out how to get 14 days of clothes into a carry on for the TOAL.

Think anyone would notice if I wore the same thing every day?

Travel guru Rick Steves has this advice:
How do you fit a whole trip's worth of luggage into a carry-on bag? The answer is simple: Bring very little. Think in terms of what you can do without, not what will be handy on your trip. Pack for the best scenario and figure you'll buy yourself out of any jams.

Begin by spreading out everything you think you might need on the living room floor. Pick up each item one at a time and scrutinize it. Ask yourself, "Will I really use this snorkel and these fins enough to justify carrying them around all summer?" Not "Will I use them?" but "Will I use them enough to feel good about carrying them over the Swiss Alps?" Regardless of my budget, I would buy them in Greece and give them away before I would carry that extra weight over the Alps.

Don't pack for the worst scenario. Pack for the best scenario and simply buy yourself out of any jams. Risk shivering for a day rather than taking a heavy coat. Think in terms of what you can do without — not what will be handy on your trip. When in doubt, leave it out. I've seen people pack a whole summer's supply of deodorant, tampons, or razors, thinking they can't get them there. The world's getting really small; you can buy Dial soap, Colgate toothpaste, Tampax, Nivea cream, and Bic razors in Sicily. Tourist shops in major international hotels are a sure bet whenever you have difficulty finding some personal item. And if you can't find one of your essentials, ask yourself how 300 million Europeans can live without it.

Whether you're traveling for three weeks or three months, you should pack exactly the same. Rather than take a whole trip's supply of toiletries, take enough to get started and look forward to running out of toothpaste in Bulgaria. Then you have the perfect excuse to go into a Bulgarian department store, shop around, and pick up something you think might be toothpaste…

Yeah, riiiiiiiiight! I'll pack some small toiletries and buy replacements in Mexico, Jamaica etc but there's just some packing that MUST be done! Sorry buddy, but the whole "adventure" of backpacking across Europe and over the Alps has no appeal for me. I'm not going to look like a vagabond just to avoid looking like a tourist!

Hello Everyone!!!

SHEESH......I gone almost a whole week and no one as much as even inquired about me.......oh sure :lmao:

Brack Congrats on the 57,000!!

I did miss you!

Thanks. :thumbsup2

Such a sad puppy! :sad1:

We had to leave Ollie at the vet one time because he was feeling sick. They had him in the oxygen therapy kennel. So when I went to visit him you could see how sad he was but happy for a visitor. He thumped his tail in slow motion! :cloud9:
I haven't heard him bark or seen his tail wag.:sad1: If I don't start to see any improvement, I will be calling the vet tomorrow. I really think he is depressed.

SHEESH......I gone almost a whole week and no one as much as even inquired about me.......oh sure :lmao:

awwww you poor poor thing you! Only 5 weeks! :sad2: How will you ever manage?!?! :p

But seriously you have to take it all or loose it? hmmmmmm

Actually, now that I think of it, that vacation tool may not have accounted for the fact that I hit a milestone on my service date and will get 2 or 3 extra paltry days of vacation per year!

Brack, I also get 5 weeks vacation a year, but I can carry over vacation time from one year to the next, but all vacation time that is carried over must be used in the year that is was carried over to. I've carried over 5 vacation days in each of the past two years. I'm planning on carrying about 5 vacation days over into 2008 as well.

This is how I want to travel. I wish that I could travel for a week or two with my shaving kit and one small suitcase.

Yes it is a sad :sad2: thing but I take full advantage of it.

I also make sure that each of my employees in Finance take their time too. It is good for them.
:woohoo:

We used to not take any vacation because in our minds they couldn't do without us there! How wrong we were! :rolleyes1

I believe that it is good to get away and get refreshed. Your vacation plan is a good one.

Ahhhhh many thanks to my dear friends for missing me :grouphug:

And HC thanks for the snake cake too! Hate Snakes.....LOVE :cake: :thumbsup2

OK I posted three in row! It's not good to talk to myself so I'll go watch a little :happytv:

"Listening" to all the chat here about pets, I was wondering how many of us have pets?

What kind(s) do you have?
How long have you had your pet(s)?
What is/are your pet(s) name(s)?
What will you do with your pet(s) while on the TOAL?

I've got 2 German Shepherds - Max 5 mos. & Annie 2 yrs. Annie was a rescue this last Feb. and Max in Mar. I lost my 2 older shepherds between Aug.06 and Jan. 07 and our home was just too empty. My son-in-law will be caring for them during the TOAL - he will be still be in school getting his teaching credential and can't join us.

Tina - Dante is sooo darling - pixiedust: for a speedy recovery!!

I've mostly had German Shepherds over the years with a few wonderful mutts interspaced - but I did have one tiny dog once - an apricot toy poodle. He was one of the best dogs I've ever had. He believed that he was as big as the Shepherds and he loved to ride my DD's Shetland pony.

Hi to everone - now back to gettng ready for the trek to No. CA tomorrow.

I was talking with some neighbors down the street when DS rode up on his bike with something in his hand. :scared: He let it drop...it was a snake skin taller than him!!!! :scared1: He found it outside the garage door. :scared1: :scared: :scared1: It is at least 5 feet long. :sad1: :scared:

OMG!!!  I guess boys will be boys. Did I tell you I am even frightened of little worms. Yuck!!!!

And make sure you dress up as Pirates .....You cant go to this Movie and not dress up if your going to the Midnight showing ...

And dont worry , there will be others dressed to so you wont feel alone ..LOL

pirate:

Oh captain I actually have to represent a movie studio and watch the screening. Am I allowed not to dress in my pirate threads???

Hi Cheryl - I'm doing good - tired today but I'm alive - did Pam tell you the answer about the Med Cruise? Yes, I am on the same cruise with Andrew and another person - DisneyLover5 I believe - although she posts on the WB Repo - she is also doing that one. So, needless to say - I am going to be one busy bee next year. :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Oh what fun. I wish I could be that busy. I only have one week at WDW this September.

Pam tells me lots of secret stuff about you.

These were taken a few min. ago. I hope it's not too much TMI. You don't really see all the stitches on his knee. He looks sooooo sad.:sad1:

I didn't notice you were gone.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I guess everyone will be busy now that the weather is getting nice. I guess I thought we would see you in chat Friday night. I am soooo glad we only have one computer!!! :rolleyes1 I think DH would be on the other for chats.

Even that "snake cake" gives me the willies.........................:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Totally!!!

We have two beagles
These two we have had for 2 years 5 months
Buddie and Cinder
Don't know about that yet

Hate to post and run but didn't sleep well last night. Glad to see you back MR.

:scared1: Yikes I don't see any of those things where I live.

Yes, we have copperheads and water mocs behind us. DH kills a few babies on the front porch & walkway each year. :( The biggest copperhead we have seen was 6-7 feet long. It made the mistake of trying to exit the heat pump just as the A/C kicked on. Made quite the noise outside but the unit was fine.
