Oh, Lisa....

I noticed a small error below.... I took the liberty of editing it in... ya see, Dr Who travels through time and space in his spinning police box, the Tardis - and he told me who was gonna get the 50,000th!

And good morning folks!

My spouse is about to take her notebook... leaving me with nothing to surf with til she returns later today....
<snif :guilty: >....

I feel like crawling under a rock this morning but am under orders to stay home/awake to sign for DS's Ipod from FedEx today. They showed up 10 minutes before we got home Saturday afternoon. I am guessing that they will be here around the same time today. Only a 1 1/2 hours to go.

My son is like that now.. he will be 14 next month and he cleans, cooks and yes both kids do laundry :laundy: !!! I had them both trained so young that it comes so easy to them.. also, since I was sick and we were alone.. we had no choice but to help each other out...I tell him now when he hangs around my daughter and her friends when they come over ( of course they all love him since he cooks for them.. and he is not bad onthe eyes) he knows all the teenage girls secrets too!!:rotfl:

Doreen

I am hoping that both of the kids end up being selfsufficient like this. One of the things that impressed me about DH when I met him was how clean he kept his house. He even did windows...and COOKED! He use to bring me dinner at work when I worked nights. :goodvibes

:cheer2:

Happy B-Day Mike and Samantha!!!

Seems like a lot of animal lovers here. I'm welcoming any suggestions regarding Morgan, our black and white Bearded Collie. He broke his right rear hind leg on Sunday. I was taking him, Bailey (our other Beardie), and my daughters out to my parents so they could play. Morgan was a rescue, so he's always been timid and he is a drool machine in cars because of his nervousness. Anyway, pulling into my parents driveway, I rolled the window down so he could drool outside the van and he jumped out. The Vet said his upper hind leg snapped with some fragments and that another area had a hairline fracture, but got the leg set. He's still at the vet's, but will come home either later today or tomorrow. Vet said that Morgan had to be immobilized for at least 3 weeks so that he doesn't put pressure on the leg. The best thoughts from the vet were keeping Morgan in a large crate. Any other ideas on immobilizing a dog?

Oh, so sorry to hear about Morgan. I'd have to agree with the crate idea, can't think of anything else at the moment.:confused3

DD aka my ST

Attended her 2nd student show at the farm she rides at.

She rode in two divisions in the intermediate level.

First was walk trot cantor..... She came in 3rd place out of 10 kids. (She would have been 2nd but one of the advanced riders was put into the lower division for some reason.)

Second division was jumping. .... She came in 5th there...

We're so proud... I remember a couple yrs ago when she first started riding and would jump off if the horse even hit a trot....

Theresa I kept that sticker that came with my car on the passenger side that states because of the airbag children under 12 shouldn't sit there the whole time I owned my car. (we have had it 9 years now) DS used to get so aggravated with me. But I never let him. Worked wonders when I would have my neices and they would race for the front. I'd point to the sign and say back seat.:)

I doubt that I will let the kids sit in the front even after they turn 12. When I read that a woman 5'5" is in danger of injury riding in the front seat with an airbag....that made me rethink it. I put the seat as far back as possible.

Thanks for the credit, but 45K actually went to Monica.

I only have 19, 40, 42, 46.

Tranquilizer darts.....

Our Berner, Abby, was sent home after her spay procedure with instructions to keep her off the stairs for awhile.....

Apparently the vet doesn't realize that we have a three story house and at that point Abby weighed almost 60 lbs.

The day we brought her home, Abby proceeded to bound up the stairs and then down again and then up again before we could stop her.....

Unless i tackled her...She pretty much wasn't very immobile...

I agree that a crate would be a good idea or gate off a doggie room of the house. Walmart has nice creat for a decent price. (We have the XL one for Abby and it's held up for almost two years now and it was only like $65.)

It just kills me when i see people who drive with the faces right up to the steering wheel pretty much.

I saw on a show once that they recommend that you show have the seat back far enough so that your arms are straight while holding the wheel.

DH was driving a rental and hit a deer and the drivers airbag burnt his hands when it activated. I wouldn't want any other part of my body near it either.

DD has been my co-pilot in the front for a couple years now. (Our civic is a two door. However, in our CRV, she usually is in the back.)

Then again, Devon passed 5'5" awhile ago too....

I can understand if you had a 12yo who was under 5' and weighed less than 100lbs but for my DD...She's the size of an adult.

I thought you weren't counting those?? Only the 0000? So does it really matter?

Just popped in and saw the airbag talk. I am only barely 5'2"...and try to keep the seat back as far as possible. Jordan is getting her driver's license in the next day or two, and she's no taller than I am. She puts the seat waaaay too close and it drives me nuts!

Hello all! :surfweb:

Woo hoo!!! I think spring is really here this time...73* and sunny.

Happy Birthday Mike and Samantha!!!

Immobilizing a large dog is extremely hard! Good friends of ours had a lab that was hit by a car and shattered the dog's front leg. He was in an immobilizer for about 6 weeks...the metal ring thng with the screws sticking out of it. Besides the crate, they decided to chill the dog out with some benadryl. Talk to your vet about it. Not so much that he's in a perpetual stupor of sleep, but just enough to take off the wacky edge. I'd also suggest talking to your kids about the situation too so they don't inadvertantly psych the dog up too much either. Best of luck!:grouphug:

Couple of shots from Disneyland..........they gave ME a driver's license, but they wouldn't give one to Todd!

And to make matters even worse....they made the Captain ROW!

I thought this was pretty cute....Todd's Destin found a new best friend in my Jared...and that's Dylan with them
