Happy B-Day Mike and Samantha!!!

Seems like a lot of animal lovers here. I'm welcoming any suggestions regarding Morgan, our black and white Bearded Collie. He broke his right rear hind leg on Sunday. I was taking him, Bailey (our other Beardie), and my daughters out to my parents so they could play. Morgan was a rescue, so he's always been timid and he is a drool machine in cars because of his nervousness. Anyway, pulling into my parents driveway, I rolled the window down so he could drool outside the van and he jumped out. The Vet said his upper hind leg snapped with some fragments and that another area had a hairline fracture, but got the leg set. He's still at the vet's, but will come home either later today or tomorrow. Vet said that Morgan had to be immobilized for at least 3 weeks so that he doesn't put pressure on the leg. The best thoughts from the vet were keeping Morgan in a large crate. Any other ideas on immobilizing a dog?

:grouphug: Oh, the poor baby! I don't have any other ideas for immobilizing him other than the crate, sorry. Hopefully someone else will.

This reminds me of when we neutered our Boston. Vet said no jumping. You would think the dog would know better with the stitches and all but the minute he got upstairs he proceeded to jump on the bed. We heard a yelp and there he was up on the bed obviously in pain. So we put a board in front of the stairs and kept him downstairs. Poor think thought he was being punished.
I'd say the crate is the only way to keep them safe. Just pad it up and give him his favorite toy. Just make sure the crate is big enough! My dd has gone thru 3 of them so far as her rescue pooch keeps growing:lmao:

You just can't have an officer drop off the face of the earth as far as PTO is concerned. :sad2:

Well our PTO is interesting to say the least. When dd started Kindergarten there was a group there that had a history and a lot of conflict with each other. Now they have moved on and this year we have the peppy yuppies who come to school and play teacher (Yes, the teachers allow it. Thankfully they are not in dd grade.) They wanted to have an event every month, but the principal said no. We also have a couple of parents who haven't had kids at our school for 10-20 years and still mettle in things!

The principal my partner in PTO crime were excited I agreed to take Treasurer, my neighbor is taking President. Don't know what will happen with the rest of the positions. I was more excited about playing DJ for field day!

I'M BACK!

Lesson learned this morning: 15 degree weather and flip flops do not mix.

There is nothing quite like the discontented groan of a 757 full of people traveling from Honolulu to Anchorage when upon landing, the perky flight attendant comes on the intercom to announce that the local tme is 7:05 am and the temperature is 15 degrees.

I read the summaries - anything else I need to know? Have I been volunteered for anything?

Yes, I'm typing in tan.

Welcome back! :( So the entire plane was suffering from denial. :rotfl:

Oh yeah - I have about 750 photos to sort through & edit.

I'm going to try digital scrapbooking. I'm just not into the fancy paper scrapbooking. I have no patience & I'm not very crafty. I'm going to make 8x10 page layouts using a graphics program to slide into an album I figure if it works out, this will give me something to do in the car on our cross-country journey this summer.

Anyway, once I am quasi-organized, I'll post a link to my photobucket for anyone who is interested.

Sounds like a dream vacation!!! :) Can't wait to see the pictures!

Have a wonderful Saturday night!

After deciding on a College today.....I need to cherish the Saturday Night Family Movie Nights we have left :sad1: :sad1:

:grouphug: I think that it is great that your family has a special night together like that with the kids as STs.

I searched for just STINKY instead of stinky teens and this is what I found.

Stacey was the first to use the word on the thread. She was talking about Judy.

Ooooo....someone took her stinky pills today.......:rotfl: :rotfl: ;) ;)

The first reference to STINKY TEENS was by MR on 2/16.

But not as cool as yours Pete............yours sounds naughty too!!!!!

I say yes to the kids thread, Although I have stinky teens, they love DCL and made a lot of friends with the other Cruisin' Castaway kids.

Tom- I got about four lines into the article when I realized it had to be from the Onion or an April Fools piece from one of the local papers. The only thing that stinks at the Jersey shore are the bennies who think it's fun to feed the seagulls. (yea, it's all laughs till they crap on ya.)

OK, dryer just buzzed.....

Wow! You just lost about 7/8 of the world by using "bennies".... LOL what a "Jersey" term....

Tom that was really funny.......and yep, with the cloud of cologne around my DS, I think he's destined for bro or dude-hood. I have to tell him all the time: Less is more...............

Gotta love when CNN actually runs this type of story... good luck on the "less is more" (of course, our local governments keep using that same phrase although "less" is services and "more" is taxes...)

I was a fashion photograpy and display major in college and can confess that I too love the smell of those nasty chemicals. Worst thing was finding the small cuts on your hands and fingers, Ouch

Love the chemicals too... (maybe we need to be in a program?) Of course, you had to do everything with bare hands, latex gloves were for those who weren't "real photographers" LOL :rotfl:

They have booked a few people since those rumors came out so I question the validity at this point. We know that it was true the first day but I think that enough cancellations have been made to make things ok.

Makes me wonder if they are just overbooked at the GTY level and all of you who haven't been assigned a room have a good shot at upgrades?

I'll see your Star Wars and raise you 2 file boxes of comic books and 3 boxes labeled "sentimental t-shirts". And yes, it all gets moved across the country (or 2) every 3 years.

Rule #1: Packrats should never marry other packrats.
Rule #2: They really shouldn't join the military.

The whold packrat thing, not your fault, its genetic!!!!! Blame the parents! I do!!! (GM on one side and GF on other side were total packrats, so I can't help myself....) :rotfl2:

It's a plan!

Sounds good. Wouldn't it be cool if when they get the two new ships, they begin sailing out of other ports such as Bayonne or Philadelphia. A friend who booked a DCL trip a few years ago was told by his travel agent that DCL was looking at Philly as a possible port in the future (wouldn't that be great instead of just some idle TA talk?)

I just searched the thread and the first post that came up with the phrase STINKY TEEN in it was this one by MR on 2/16.

Would that be search with the "search function" or you just read a whole lot? I can never get the search to work....

Good afternoon everyone!!!! I don't mean to interrupt any conversation but....Somebody notice my new avatar!!!:cheer2: :woohoo:

It took me over two hours to figure out how to make custom avatar. Now you all have to remember I know nothing about computers. I finally got rid of the ugly lizard.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: This matches my kitchen and my number #2 man in my life. :dance3: Dh is #1 man.

That is so cute! I have no idea how to do that. :cool2:

Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any web cams at the ship yard in germany where the two new Disney ships will be built

There were links posted on the thread about the new ships on the main cruise board.

Howdy Crew!
I'm back online and playing ketchup. Just 100 pages?? The boards must have been down a lot. Though I can't say I'm sorry... :lmao:

We had our school auction last night. It looks like we're down from last year - which was expected, but will still top $100K in proceeds, which was unexpected. It was an excellent event. And, we got out of there 2 1/2 hours earlier than last year - which we were all grateful for. The chairpersons were on site from 8:00am until midnight, or a little later. That's a freaking LOOOOONG day! It was a surfing theme, which made getting dressed easy. :rotfl:

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

What school is this?????? I am just stunned by the number. :scared1: We are lucky to clear $2000.00 after expenses for our fall carnival...which includes baskets that are auctioned off. WOW!

Well we're almost packed. But I still need to finish cleaning the house! I want a cleaning lady (foot stomp) I Want A Cleaning Lady! (foot stomp) I am Wife, Mother, Employee and DISer Extraordinaire and I WANT A CLEANING LADY!!! (double foot stomp) :lmao: :lmao: But then I couldn't afford our TOAL

Hey I got my priorities straight :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 bring on that dern turlet! :lmao:

LOVE that title!!!! :lmao:

We hired one a month ago and she wanted $75.00 to clean the house. I figured five hours that's $15 an hour. Well she comes at 6:30 am and is out of here by 9:30. I'm not happy about it and last week I didn't leave the envelope with her pay out, well she just left and came the next day for it. She does do a pretty good job, but I resent paying that much for three hours work. $25 an hour is a pretty good wage. Maybe I should be out there. :happytv: :scared1:

If someone would do a good job cleaning the house in three hours...it would be worth it to me. It would save me 5-6 hours a week at least.

I actually use an iron to do fuse beads or melting beads with my students.....

chrissie

Both of my kids love that activity! I got them a big kit last summer & after fusing a few of the shapes...they actually enjoy just making up the patterns and redoing them.
